About Capo's Chicago Pizza & Fine Italian Dinners
“I want Capo’s to feel like a neighborhood place that’s been here for years, while also transporting guests to a moment in time when Italian-American cuisine began to form its roots in our culture.”
- Tony Gemignani.
Celebrating classic Chicago-style cuisine with an emphasis on authenticity and quality of ingredients, the menu dishes up favorites like true Chicago-style pizza served on four types of crust: Deep Dish, Cast Iron Pan, Stuffed, and Cracker Thin. Each style is made with Ceresota Flour from one of the oldest mills in Chicago. Capo’s signature dish is marked by the Quattro Forni pizza, taking Gemignani’s World Pizza Championship winning dish, the Tre Forni, to the next level by cooking it four different times as opposed to three; and is limited to 20 per day due to extensive specialized preparations.

Capo's Chicago Pizza & Fine Italian Dinners Ratings and Reviews
Always wanted to try Capo's, and glad we did! Tried the cast iron cooked pizza. Insane ... I cant believe how good it was! The atmosphere was lively, the drinks were good, and all of our food was excellent, and on top of that our server was fantastic! Cant wait to come back!
We walked in about 30 min early for our reservations but it was very busy. They told us that we were welcome to either order a drink and wait or walk around and come back by our alloted time and by then our table would be ready. We returned with 5 minutes to spare. But our table wasnt available yet. They were very gracious about it and mentioned that they were very sorry and was waiting for a party to leave. We went outside to sit and a couple of minutes later our very wonderful (male) host came back out to apologize for our wait. We looked at the tine and realized that we were only 2 minutes passed our reservations time. We were impressed that they showed so much concern. About 5 min past our reservation time they called us in. We got a very comfortable private spot to ourselves and while we were waiting we were served some complimentary yummy meatballs (the best my husband has ever had). The pizza and pasta we ordered were equally amazing. We will be back the next time we come to San Francisco. And will definately will be telling our friends about this wonderful gem that we found.
Fresh back from a vacation in Chicago, we were looking for an authentic version of Lou Malnati's Chicago style pizza. Had a heck of a time finding parking so were a 1/2 hour late, got a call from Capo's to check on us as we were booking it on foot from the parking garage, and they still graciously seated us. Atmosphere was great, timeless brick, comfortable booths and cool Mobster photos. Food was DELICIOUS. Got a Margherita deep dish and baked artichoke heart dip which was one of the most heavenly things ever eaten. The Chicago-style pizzas have a ton of sauce on them so make sure you like that style. We will be back.
Being from Chicago, we were excited to try the Chicago pizza here. We did not get our first choice of reservation times, although there were quite a few empty tables. The deep dish pizza was very good but not really Chicago style. No cornmeal in the crust and a thick topping of sugary sweet sauce. Tasty, but not Chicago. The spinach salad was very good, too. Good service. High noise level. Would try it again and not get the deep dish.
We went there for our anniversary and had a wonderful dinner! Started with the Antipasti appetizer which was a huge portion of fresh prosciutto, cheeses, salami and olives. The garlic bread was delicious but the pizza was amazing! All large portions that can be shared among table members.
Great place with red leather seats ... very mafia looking! Had a great time!
There are few Italian restaurants serving food in San Francisco as delicious as Capo's, and combined with the excellent service and perfect surroundings, it simply CANNOT be beat. The portions are huge, the pastas are sublime, the pies are extraordinary, and the Chicago feel certainly holds up to the fantastic food!!! GO now, just do it...
We ordered too much food. The waiter should have suggested less since portions were so large. The deep dish pie was very good but the chicken parm was not at all good.
The lasagna was tasty with a lot of meat but where were the noodles?
This is a good local, place if you want all kinds of pizza. Not so much for other entrees.
