Celebrating classic Chicago-style cuisine with an emphasis on authenticity and quality of ingredients, the menu dishes up favorites like true Chicago-style pizza served on four types of crust: Deep Dish, Cast Iron Pan, Stuffed, and Cracker Thin. Each style is made with Ceresota Flour from one of the oldest mills in Chicago. Capo’s signature dish is marked by the Quattro Forni pizza, taking Gemignani’s World Pizza Championship winning dish, the Tre Forni, to the next level by cooking it four different times as opposed to three; and is limited to 20 per day due to extensive specialized preparations.

Best Restaurant in SF
There is no comparison!!!
You could disagree, but, you would be wrong ! )
Friend was in town from SD
I have been here before and love everything on the menu. Staff is sweet and you feel they are close and work as a family which works well with the family style meals.
Drinka could be stronger :P
First time visit. Had the basic pizza to test how they do. Perfect! We’ll be returning for sure and sample the rest of the menu. Fast, courteous, delicious. Nice jazz combo for quiet background ambiance.
I had the meatball sub and the Boss Hog pizza and it was fantastic. Our server was also great. My sister and Brother in law came to visit f er on Rhode Island and they loved it. My wife and I will definitely be going to Capos again. Thank you Capos. :)
My favorite pizza in the world hands down and I have eaten pizza on 3 continents in 8 countries and this is the best.
We loved Capos. The food was great. Our waitress. McKenzie was the best waitress ever. Loved her!!
Deep dish pizza was phenomenal. Sauce very sweet and zesty. Crust was a perfect mix of crunch and chew. Better than eating pizza in Chicago! Capo's is a winner!!!
Amazing pizza and a great vibe in the restaurant. I would definitely return on my next trip to SF.
Best food & service in North Beach. Will not disappoint.
Found a hair in my food. Grossed out after that. Really rich & kind of heavy. I think I’ll try a different deep dish place next time. Also, many kids in here.
Meh, unfortunately! The bartender and maitre de were exceptional. The salad was good then we
lost our waiter for I don't know how long. My husbands spaghetti and meatballs were Super hot - almost
microwave hot, compared with the daily special I ordered .....spaghetti vongole. The clams were only warm so I ate them quickly and the pasta was hard and cold like it was waiting on the pass for a while. I had a cocktail and my husband had a club soda and we were charged $11 for both drinks. Very disappointed.
As with any homemade pasta, the sauce is key and Capo’s Spaghetti and Meatballs with Meat Sauce is extraordinary. The meatballs are light and fluffy, the meat sauce is thick and delicious and the pasta, a very thick bucatini sized spaghetti is the best we all have ever eaten.
It is why we return to Capo’s!
Now about the Michigan Avuenue thin crust pepperoni pizza, it is simply a killer. Nothing about it can be improved, from the crispy outer edges, to the curled up pepperoni of your childhood, to the hearty red sauce, to the delicious cheeses, to the best pizza crust in town, Capo’s knows how thick bake the ultimate pie.
Caesar salad, toasted garlic clove garlic bread, tiramisu and vanilla gelato rounded out our meal. They are all great but the stars are the spaghetti and meat balls and the pizza pie. Buon appetito!
Caroline, the manager, is a gem and she is a huge reason why we come back time and time again. That, and the simple truth that Capo’s has no equal...
The pizza was just outstanding. I order the half and half of the frank Nitti and Chicago pizza. Both had the ricotta cheese dropped on top...omg. Pure heaven. The Chicago was a little too meaty to me how the frank Nitti had that cheesy, garlic, buttery taste. Amazing.
My friends and I went and loved it. We had a large group of 8 and they were able to accommodate us. They also had live entertainment which really went with the ambiance of the venue. The food was delicious. Would definitely go here again.
LOVE the pizza!!! Service was great, it is a very cozy place. Would highly recommend to friends and family.
Great spot in North Beach. Food is always consistent!! Always recommend.
I went to the restaurant at 5pm on Tuesday. We ordered the original Chicago pizza 8 inch. It was enough for two people. I really enjoyed eating the greatest pizza with beers!!
Great pizza from the pizza Meister Tony G
Cast Iron Pizza and the Quattro Forno are highlights
Lasagna was also delicious
Great date spot
The food is always exceptional, the service is really top-notch and the surroundings make eating SFs best pizza and Italian food more enjoyable than anywhere else, period. I believe that sums up Capo’s perfectly. It is our favorite restaurant in the City. Caroline, the manager, Alejandro, the host, MacKenzie, the server, Dalton, the busser/server and the rest of the staff make the experience unforgettable every time we dine!
Must go hungry! Remember Diet is a four- letter word. Fantastic Italian food and noted for their pizza-- cracker thin or deep dish. Because of small seating area would definitely recommend making a reservation. Once you go there you will want to return.
Three of shared the garlic bread with mozzarella, mixed greens and cherries salad, and the Dillinger pizza and we had left over pizza! It was all really tasty. The pizza takes a while to come out, but it was nice to get to enjoy the salad and bread beforehand and have some drinks while we waited for it. It was a fun place to go before the Speakeasy.
The Old Chicago Deep Dish and balsamic pork chop were out of this world. We will definitely be coming back.
Great deep dish pizza and fantastic raviolli pasta special. They were so accommodating to our 15 month old too. Thank you!!!
Great place! Loved the atmosphere and the staff was wonderful. Fantastic entertainment! Great food! Can’t wait to come back.
We are regulars that come from 2 hours away and he crew and managers Alexis accommodate our request , we love his place and Alexis come for our special occasions , thanks to Caroline , Emma for always making our time special 💙💙💙💙Caperetta family
Excellent food, exceptional service by Caroline and her staff and the most comfortable surroundings in North Beach for Italian food, bar none.
Loved the food!! The pizza was delicious as was the salad! We definitely ordered too much for two, so would recommend coming in a group. Too much good food for two.
one of my fave places in SF......luv it!!! the pizzas are all fantastic......whether thin or deep!
Incredibly nice staff... food and the flavors were great. Only one small critique; Caesar Salad dressing was very tasty, but too much of it on the fresh Romaine. The word that comes to mind is “slathered”.
Loved sitting near the kitchen... every time a smiling staff member went through the door, we experienced all the amazing aromas wafting out!
Capo's is a quiet gem suitable for friends gatherings or business meals. The staff, food, and service are all great!
Wonderful wine terrific service and amazing pizza. What more. If you're looking for an Italian staple with a solid Chicago vibe and amazing food. Look no further. Top North Beach destination with Tony Gemignani food. We will be back and then back again !!
Really loved the food. Server was nice but somewhat disappeared. We had to flag her down to order another round of drinks. There was a live three piece band playing the night we were there. We were seated right next to them. They played well but it was difficult to hear each other.
Great food, great ambiance. Neighboring table was extremely loud, once they left we could hear each other, which made the experience better.
I hope you love Capo's as much as I do. This place serves a perfect blend of traditional classic chicago style deep dish and modern eclectic flavor profiles inspired by Chef/Owner Tony Gemignani.
On this day we had a reservation for four at 5:30 PM. Arrived a bit early so bellied up to the bar and spent some time with Levi, a great bartender.
Promptly at 5:30, we were ushered to our table. Great service from our server and the GM.
We had the caesar salad, baked artichoke dip, baked mostaccioli genovese and the big jim pizza cooked in cast iron. Everything was superb!!
Not a lot of items on the menu, but absolutely delicious! Great flavors! We had pasta but next time I'll be ordering some deep dish; which looked stunning. We had 5pm reservations; which started off in a quiet atmosphere. But, by the time we left, it was loud and a bit difficult to hear across the table.... but then again, quiet dinners are a bit tough in the City.
I will be returning, the food was excellent and the ambience great!
Fun spot with fun and creative cocktails, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great Chicago style pizza in the bay area (the best I have found). Portions are huge
Best Pizza in the Bay Area. Period! In addition, I highly recommend the following antipasti: Wood fired baked artichokes, meatballs & Calibrese suasage with honey. Delicious!
