My husband's steak was burned. Charred Romaine salad excellent.
Terrific. Amazing and unique food choices. Expensive but worth every penny. They seemed to have lost my reservation at first and made us stand aside until I found it (and then it showed up on their computer as well) which was a bit embarrassing but after that they treated us very nice and the experience and service was top notch. I highly recommend the corn ravioli with truffle shavings and their home made lasagna. The pasta here is made fresh and make these pasta dishes something really special. I’ll return for sure.
Food wasn't good but service and ambience were great.
Way too expensive for the quality of the food and the overall experience
This is one of the most expensive restaurants in the world and the money you spent is not worthy. Food for two people and a bottle of wine of $240 US cost $750 USD...
I hate that they add 17% tip without asking, it is suddenly charged to your card
without you noticing it.
Will never come back
Phenomenal meal. Grazie Frank!
Way over priced- actually will never go back
Service was excellent. Food was authentic and delishes.
Visiting my son and girlfriend. A special occasion.
Went all out based on friends recommendation. The dinner was $800 for 4. We had two glasses of champagne (more on that) and two glasses of wine. No expensive bottle or it would have been $1000.
We ate outside to find we were in the parking lot and sitting over the striped car dividers. How about astroturf, or some other covering?
The Champagne…it was served in wine glasses which should have tipped me off that the night would be rocky. Appetizers were calamari and the meatballs. They never served the meatballs. The calamari had a portion fried and a portion “grilled”. Nope. They tasted like they came out of the microwave and were as chewy as rubber bands. You literally had to just swallow them
The shared pasta course-ravioli with truffles (about 8 small ravioli) so not much to share. Bucatini Carbonara was so covered with pepper it was almost inedible. The Cacio y Pepe had no pepper!!!! I think they put the pepper on the wrong dish! We could have sent everything back but we didn’t set aside time for two dinners.
Luckily we had ordered a lot to start so we finished with Cesar salads, Crab Chowder and my son had short ribs that were good not great but cost about $80.
Desserts were good a chocolate soufflé and a blueberry crumble. Yay.
Price aside (just a warning) there is no excuse for a restaurant willing to charge these prices to deliver a meal like that. There should be a quality control chef in the kitchen.
Excellent service, meal recommendations, safety precautions and a beautiful outdoor dining area. Loved it. Have been wanting to go here for years.
Excellent food and lovely outdoor option.
Prices are quite high and arguably over-priced for what you're getting...they are priced in the top tier and the food, while excellent, isn't quite at that level.
Overall it was a great experience!
Food is good. Very expensive. Good service. Loud inside, quieter outside.
Excellent all the way around. You get what you pay for. No substitute for the quality they delivered
Capo is an amazing restaurant under normal circumstances. With Covid they have opened seating in the parking lot and the quaintness and charm of the restaurant is completely lost. I would absolutely eat here again but only if I could eat inside.
Amazing food and service. First timer and blown away
An extraordinary place for a memorable evening. The food is the finest. You will delight in the skill and mastery as well as the joy and pride in the cooking, presentation, and taste of the food . The service was excellent. A wonderful experience.
It was a disappointing experience as the service was slow when it was a near empty restaurant and the food was mediocre at best.
I specifically went for the tasting menu dinner which the OpenTable site claims is available, but in fact, has not been for a while.
After we were seated, we were asked if we preferred still or sparkling water and they then brought bottled water and poured without having told us they were only offering bottled water for which they changed $12/bottle. 4 appetizers & 1 shared entree came to $315 without any alcohol or wine. AND they tried to tax us additionally for the service fee they included in the bill.
Wonderful food!! Had a fantastic time and the waiter was great
The food is divine! Our group enjoyed the rib steak, veal chop, foie gras, octopus, artichoke and fluffy chocolate souffle! Everything was cooked as ordered, perfectly seasoned, decadent and delicious. The servers are top notch professionals who are friendly, knowledgeable and charming. We ate in the covered outside patio...not ideal, but COVID...the inside of the restaurant is warm and cute. This is a special occasion spot.
Food is kinda overrated and overvalued. Otherwise nice place
Great Place to enjoy a fine Italian Meal !!
A must visit ..
Capo is always incredible.
Food was delicious but ambience and price tag was just bad value for money:/
Suburb preparation and service. Don't look at the prices, just order.
The experience at Capo is one of a kind. Start to finish it’s top class. Thank you for a great evening and looking forward to hopefully many more. - Steve
This is the third time I went to this restaurant. The first two times were spectacular, this time not so much. The waiter was great but it felt like he just had too many tables to wait. Maybe short staffed from COVID?? And the food was good just not as good as the past, and the prices were sky high.
Maybe it was just an off night. I truly love this place , it’s cozy and the food was normally great. Hope next time lives up to the first two times.
I haven't been to Capo in many years. But we had a special occasion to celebrate and decided to give it a try. It exceeded all expectations. The for was amazing and our waiter was friendly and helpful. We will now make it part of our rotation again.
We’ve been to Capo a few times. Food was sometimes outstanding, sometimes oh lala. Service was always great. This time, it was poor on food and service - for a restaurant who wants to stand out for both and is asking for the respective prices, it’s not acceptable. I tried to just share our experience with the restaurant but they didn’t have the courtesy to call me back.
One waiter wore mask as chin protection, the other took it off when at our table.
Letting us wait outside for abt 5 mns was ok finally sat us. Then told our guests ( same person who let us wait and sat us down) that we walked off and didn’t want them to go inside. Thought we texted them we are inside. Even when we were on the phone, he still didn’t allow them in.
In the meantime, we ordered Prosecco - didn’t arrive for abt 10 minutes. We were like, ok they’re busy. Same waiter came back and said, “you’re sure you don’t want to have anything to drink?” Then he was “ok, yes I forgot to pass the order on”
When asking for the daily, he was like the menu if is in a different language no one knows what it means..
Next waiter…was funny at fist doing “his dance” then did it every time when he came back and eventually rubbed his butt against my husband, wouldn’t stop when asked and had to be pushed off.
Asked for al dente pasta. Came well overcooked. Spaghetti instead of spaghettini as requested and on the menu
Wine: asked for Primitivo to complement food. Poured glass for tasting - it was good - just not the right one to fit all food - was Amarone. The bottle was already open so didn’t want to make a scene. Choice was not approved.
Would pour wine for person who didn’t want wine and keep filling up the glass to the brim
Poured rest of wine glass of rose into other glass
Bread was taken away even though I asked to keep it for the entree.
Not a great experience for a restaurant that prides themselves for service & food.
This is our favorite restaurant in LA. The food, service and total expected exceptional. They go out of their way to make every meal beyond exceptional. I wish I lived closer! If you can go, GO!
Sensational food. Pricey!!!
The food was amazing and the service wonderful.
Birthday dinner. Extra special with the fabulous food and wine!
to much hype for average food
maybe a bad night but the prices are way to high for the food
Team Capo was the bomb...love all from Frank the maitre d, Sara our bartender and server for our dinner at the bar made it a most fab evening...and I am not going to forget Mathew with his beautiful baby blues! Thank you...see you all again on 8/7@
