The food here is really incredible and we received the most amazing service - especially from Diane (the hostess). We will definitely be coming back. Thank you for helping us celebrate our anniversary.
Amazing food. comprehensive menu. Nice little place, with valet service. Staff is friendly and helpful. Cozy atmosphere. Good for every ocassion
I would only recommend it to someone that has a lot of money. A plate of Pasta for $38? Chicken $55?
Caesar salad $25? Higher priced than some great Beverly Hills restaurants. If you have unlimited funds its a super place.
Everything was awesome!!
Capo never disappoints.
This is the second time we have been to Capo, and we weren’t as impressed as we were the first time. The food was good but seemed to be lacking this time. We felt very rushed and realized though there were two of us after we had left we were charged gratuity and then were asked to add it. So our waiter made out with 45% gratuity.
Everything was great until the bill came. We were a table of 4 and they added a 20% service fee to the bill. That included 20% on a $210 bottle of wine. There was no sommelier pairing a wine for us. They handed me a wine list and I picked a bottle. I resent the forced service charge on small tables, but 20% is an outrage. Too bad, because everything up to that was stellar.
So great! One of the best meals I’ve ever had!
We had our anniversary dinner here while visiting LA. Nicest service possible, amazing food great scene.
Amazing food and fantastic service. For those who arrive early, note that the bar area is used only for dinner service. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!
2nd time dining at Capo. Absolutely love the food here and incredible wine list. Although the food and wine were everything I remembered, the experience was not. The servers were all great - it was more just the vibe. The evening felt rushed, like they were on a schedule to get the table turned. We were not allowed to order appetizers until we had made main course selections and I was not allowed to have my pasta selection come before the meat course, I was told it had to come with the main course. The oddest part came when I got the bill. Service was already added. I have seen this with large groups or at places like French Laundry, but it seemed very odd for a party of 2. Oddly they left money on the table because I would have tipped more. As odd of an experience it was, I will probably still go back, the food is so good.
unfortunately this restaurants had gone from my favorite restaurant 18 years ago until an unlikely to visit again soon.
Our octopus appetizer has less of a grill but rather charred flavor. The sea bass appetizer was too heavily salted which overwhelmed the flavor of the fish. The Lamb chops were good. They did not have the bottle of wine we selected from the extensive list. There are more tables added so barely elbow room in some areas. The music is too loud for a size of restaurant resulting in loss of the prior quaintness and charm. If I don’t want to her the person next to me, I eat in Hollywood. Will try again one day only as business expense next time. The experience was more Vegas, quick meal prepared by rushed chefs. In my opinion, they need to go back to some of the values which made it such a gem in past. Unlikely in near future as long as they can command these prices for this quality.
Always a good meal. My issue this time and always is the attentiveness of the waiters. They are in a no win situation taking orders, tending to tables and at the same time have to keep an eye on the drink glass/ bread basket. This is the most or one of the most expensive restaurants on the Westside. PLEASE hire 2 busboys so the service = the prices we pay to dine there. It is frustrating!!!!
A+++, always awesome!
Capo has always been one of my favorite restaurants. However, our last experience there, the food was disappointing. I do not know where they are sourcing their meat nowadays, but the quality of the steak that we ordered, did not live up to Capo's normal standard. Maybe they had an off night. We had a group of 4 people and all 4 of us felt that the food was average at best.
The best Italian in all of california
Beat restaurant in LA!
One of the best Italian restaurants in the USA. Without question!
Nice warm casual elegant Ambiance and decor. Out of 6 dishes we ordered, 2 were quite good rest were unremarkable.
-single fresh sardine grilled in wood oven $30+
-lobster risotto $36'ish
- venison $67
- pasta 3 sampler (first 2 on menu plus corn ravioli with truffle $36
- grilled Cesar
Pasty, non complementary tomato'ish sauce on grilled octopus
Absolutely exceptional start to finish
Ambiance, food and service was very good. Prices are over the top ridiculous.
This is not for the faint of wallet - but it is extremely worth it. 2 people - dinner, three glasses of wine, excellent spread of food - $450
I am absolutely 1000% in support of their 20% added gratuity on every check - though - to be brutally honest - charging prices as considerably high as theirs are and still not being able to pay a living wage without tips is sort of
Ordered the Branzino but was disappointed when it came. The waiter misled me into believing it was a whole fish grilled then filleted. It was not a whole fish but a fillet. I believe the waiter honestly thought it was a whole fish and just misunderstood my question.
One of the most amazing pasta dishes I’ve ever had in my entire life.
This is the best restaurant in Los Angeles. Hands Down
Fantastic food. TOOOOOOO. LOUD!!!! Capo used to have a great medium level atmosphere. Now it’s playing loud music and we could barely have a conversation at our table of four. Really makes us not want to go back just because it’s too loud. I hope they see this and do something about it. We move the food there. Just can’t stand the noise.
We look forward to coming to this restaurant each time we are in town and we have recommended it to many. Unfortunately this time was very disappointing experience. The veal was off and had to be sent back. The chef, manager and waitress tasted confirmed it was not right. The vegetables were extremely salty. The waitress then commented on the bill that off course we did not charge you for the veal. I would hope not! After spending $600 on the meal I would have expected the manager to come over at bare minimum and perhaps some form of gesture from the kitchen to say sorry. I will say this leaves a bad feeling and reluctance to return.
Capo is always special. The ambience is great, and the food and service are excellent. Our most recent visit was memorable for the uni pasta and the Bryan Flannery Dry Aged Kansas City Steak. The steak was among the best I have enjoyed in Los Angeles and was so big that I ate half for dinner and half the next morning for breakfast. Appreciation to our server Roger for the recommendation. Highly recommended.
Capo is by far the best restaurant we have been to in the LA area. On this occasion, the four of us had pork, veal, pasta, and risotto, along with various appetizers. All were simply excellent. Although it took a longer than expected wait to order, once the order was complete, the service was fast, attentive, and completely what one would expect. We ate a bit later than usual this time at Capo and watched the kitchen staff clean. Wow, what an impressive show in itself. Capo is expensive but we have never felt that management overcharged for the service and quality.
Outstanding at every level
I hate the idea that they automatically add 20% gratuity ( for a party of 4) especially on wine. There was some silly statement on the bill about “equality “ which is a ridiculous statement. I spent 3x on wine vs. food (none of which the Sommelier recommended...
One the best restaurants in LA.
Amazing service. Food was great but basic and for that, extremely expensive. I paid $470 for two and I brought my own wine.
I love this restaurant. We dined here on our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious and the wine list was exceptional. It’s definitely a restaurant for special occasions unless you of course, you can afford a $500 dinner for two every week!
Food is amazing and service is usually top notch as well. Was a bit disappointed because this time around they wouldn’t open the wine I brought and pay corkage because it happened to be on their wine list.
Beautiful space, great service, very good food, but unnecessarily expensive.
Caesar salad is amazing! If you like seafood pasta get the linguini with clams
It was my 3rd visit to Capo and a special occasion/ my wife’s birthday
As long as you don't look at the prices you will love Capo.
