A must experience if your visiting Nashville. An historic hotel that played an important role with women’s suffrage.
Delicious dinner in a very elegant setting, excellent service.
Three of us were there for the experience of afternoon tea in Nashville. We are locals that live 20 mins away.
The ambience was good the service adequate but the food was horrible.
Seriously could have bought frozen food at the local grocery store and thawed it out self would have been much cheaper.
Small quiche was dry and tasteless, sandwiches dry as though it’s been sitting out for several days. The savory scone had too much herb without any taste. Pastries were from local Walmart.
Tea was good and the one glass of Champagne was only think keeping this meal from being not worth a single penny.
The location and the hotel is beautiful and it’s nice to know we have such a place in Nashville.
The management should look at this review closely and reconsider the food they put out there.
The visit started with champagne, then ordering tea, the food arrived, and there is a visitor that drops by each table to give you a quick synopsis of women getting the right to vote in TN.
Due to current renovations we were seated at a table in the impressive and historic lobby. We waited quite awhile to be greeted by our waiter and to receive our subsequent drink order. The menu is abbreviated (assuming due to the renovations). The choices sounded nice but in fact, were just ok in taste and presentation. Wait staff was friendly but were not up to expectations from this 5 diamond hotel.
We celebrated at the Hermitage Hotel after our our wedding ceremony. The staff was wonderful, the location was beautiful and the food was delicious! Thanks for helping to make our evening a special one.
My boyfriend and I waited for over 30 minutes for our food at brunch. When it was finally served, the cream on his French toast was completely melted and my shrimp and grits were cold and hard. They remade my entree and took it off my bill so that was nice but it was incredibly disappointing as we were celebrating his birthday and expected better. I would possibly try it again.
We enjoyed a lovely tea on Sunday. Our cups were not only filled but our minds were also filled with historical facts about Women & Voting. The service was excellent.
Beautiful setting, great food
Service was a bit not up to par for us- may have been a newer employee
Overall the place is Amazing rich in history
We went here for a luncheon as part of a bridesmaids weekend and loved it. The food was tasty and nicely presented and the staff were professional, courteous, and personable. The setting is in under a beautiful atrium with lots of sunlight. I highly recommend.
Although the restaurant and bar are undergoing a remodel, the dinner seating in the veranda was very comfortable. The temporary bar in the lobby was nice, too.
The High Tea at the Capitol Grille-Hermitage Hotel was a very unique experience. All of the staff were so kind and interactive from the moment we walked in the hotel doors. Miles who works at the Oak Bar in the lobby was phenomenal. Very friendly, engaging, and made us great drinks while we waited for our tea time. The tea itself was amazing. Our server Matt was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great experience and would love to do it again.
Great Brunch! A bit pricey but you should expect that with the quality of the food and environment. Beautiful setting. Food and Service outstanding. Great experience!
Staff was outstanding from front desk to wait staff.
Fabulous Experience. Every resident and tourist should enjoy this high tea. Tennessee history comes alive. Service and food top notch and can’t be beat. My guest could not get over the excellence.
Beautiful venue. Excellent service. Excellent staff.
Gorgeous, historical setting, excellent food and service
Service by our waiter was phenomenal however he could not overcompensate for the food. Both of our steaks were undercooked, the mashed potatoes were flavorless and our three cheese macaroni was undercooked on the pasta as well. For $150, we had jack in the box afterwards. Not one to complain and send food back to risk getting something on it- I let it be.
We totally enjoyed our time there celebrating my birthday and the service is phenomenal. The complimentary french macaroons to celebrate my birthday was a sweet touch. Thank You.
Capital grill was closed for renovations. Hotel was servicing with limited menu. Good but not capital grill. Check if open before booking. Was not aware capital grill was closed.
We love this hotel and had a great anniversary dinner!
So fun and fancy! The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was incredible being in such a beautiful lobby. I now have an affinity for tea time!
The tea sandwiches were stale and the herbal tea was weakly brewed. Scones were tough and did not resemble an authentic British scone in the slightest. The ambiance is what your here for and that’s going to cost you. We would go back but with lowered expectations next time.
Not much of a menu. Waiter walked by the table several times and did not offer to refill our drinks.
We so enjoyed High Tea at the Hermitage. I'd forgotten how beautiful the hotel was inside. It's like architecture in European countries. Just beautiful. Everything was elegant. Service was fantastic. Food was very good and presentation was beautiful. We stayed later to listen to Debbie Watts play the piano in the lobby. If you get a chance, go listen to her. She's amazing. I could have sat or hours to listen.
Everything was so lovely. All the entrees were fantastic. My MIL said that the burger was the best she’s ever had in her life!
Really disappointing --
The food and service were mediocre. My 10 year old daughter and I were seated at a table that was near another where they were serving people from the bar. Very disappointing!!
Enjoyed a most beautiful , romantic tea at The Hermitage Hotel with my husband during our recent visit to Nashville. The hotel is gorgeous ! ....,. architecture, decor and tea service was wonderful. Highly recommend !
Was a beautifully elegant hotel with excellwnt service and ambience.
Restaurant under renovation but was not informed before arriving. Limited menu with zero imagination and no specials. Some of the side dishes were undercooked and not edible. This is not the Capitol Grille we're used to. Stay away!
Great beautiful atmosphere with historical design. Good food except for one side which was refunded. Jack Daniels chocolate dessert fantastic.
The restaurant was closed for remodeling and operating through the hotel. Which wasn't a big deal but would have been good to know before we made the reservation. It may have changed our decision. There were only five meal options to choose form. We had to ask multiple times for items we needed. Got a dessert we didn't order, and didn't have the protein in our meals we asked for. Overall, it wasn't terrible but not the service we are used to when dining at Capital Grille. We would not go back in this location.
The hostess was not pleasant or helpful. Wish we would have know the regular restaurant was closed when booking. Menu was limited and atmosphere was not fun.
Very good service, they will ask if you have dietary preferences beforehand so that was never an isssue. Would recommend
The views are magnificent. Hotel is beautiful. Staff is amazing and provides fantastic service. Afternoon tea is wonderful. Menus have variety for both lunch and dinner.
It was great
During the remodel, the superb staff continues to impress. From the Chefs to the wait-staff to the bartender, the crew at the Capitol Grill carry on a 5-star experience. I am looking forward to visiting the freshened restaurant upon its completion.
We were staying overnight at the Hermitage and thought this restaurant was part of the Capital Grille chain. Sadly it is not. The restaurant is under renovation until this Fall. So the restaurant is up in the veranda over the lobby. Not the worst thing, but not as private. The menu is very limited and pricey. We ordered a cheeseburger with roasted Brussels sprouts. The burger was thin and tasteless and the Brussels sprouts were severely over cooked. Crunchy. I ordered the brisket with mashed potatoes and carrots. Brisket was okay and potatoes swimming in gravy. Overall okay, but not great.
I would not eat at this restaurant again. Many nicer restaurants in town.
wasn't notified that restaurant was under renovation with limited warranty. Service was in the hotel. We promptly canceled our reservation and went somewhere else.
Salad was horrible very little dressing. Filet came out with no garnish and one small tomato. Fries were served in a small bowl and tasted like supermarket fries.
