Capitol City Brewing Company - Arlington Ratings and Reviews
The beer is really great. Service fantastic and management awesome. However, they recently changed the menu so the one online is not what you get at the store. Over half of the items are “new”, but not necessarily good. Would recommend for a happy hour or quick bite but disappointed for a dinner out for celebration.
Came for a casual, business holiday lunch. Two people ordered chili, and he came out ice cold. One person ordered a Gyro, and it was filled with lettuce. I ordered the fish and chips, and it lacked flavor. The waiter was great. He mentioned they were rolling out new menus.I was disappointed with the food. We been here before and enjoyed the experience better .
Appetizers were great! We had the appetizer platter. Husband had a great steak & cheese. He couldn't get over how good it was. I made the mistake of ordering a crabcake just had a taste for it but after thinking it over a crabcake should definitely be ordered from a seafood restaurant, a more upscale location or made at home. Besides the crabcake the overall experience was great. This was our first time there. We will be back.
Typical price range for burgers, beer, and entrees, however the quality of the above was supbar at best. List of tap beer and bottles leaves more to be desired. Don't waste your time trying this place out, it is not worth your money. It's too bad because the venue is clean and has a lot of potential to offer the area. Hopefully they fire the chef, brewmaster, and manager and hire a team that gives a damn about quality.
Unhappy with the chili - served cold and did not like the taste. Server (Erin) was great, offered me other options but I decided not to order anything else because my husband was half finished with his meal. As I recall, I did not like what I ordered the last time I was at the restaurant either. Perhaps it's my fault but I am giving up on this restaurant and will find somewhere else to eat before the theater.
Early dinner before our party in DC. Great service, food was very good. Hummus , apple walnut salad, fish, crab cakes, wings, awesome kids menu! Clean bathrooms close garage parking. Can't complain we will be back! I got a birthday cupcake and candle for a well wish from the restaurant. Everyone left full and satisfied.
My 5 year old chose Cap City for her birthday dinner. She loves the kids menu but decided she wanted to share something off the grown up menu with mom and dad! As usual service was amazing and for a beautiful summer night the place was surprisingly quiet. Another great dinning experience at Cap City Brewery!
Atmosphere was of the regular brewery type; TVs at the bar, large cauldrons of beer towering over the eating space, and signage everywhere marketing the latest brew. Food was good, beer was good, service was marginal. Took awhile to actually place our order once seated, then another wait just to get our beers and complementary pretzels. Didn't even finish eating our first pretzel when our food came to the table though, so that speed things up. Overall a good experience with a suggestion, if you have liquor available, have a drink list for that! We had to ask if it was available, then tell them what drink we wanted. That's fine if you know what you like, but some people like a menu to choose from.
They didn't seem ready or staffed to handle a Friday dinner rush which is surprising as we eat here all the time. After being seated we waited 15 min before telling them we still didn't have a waiter. The manager made it better by helping the host take our order. We didn't see our waiter under he brought the bill. Unusual bad experience here I hope it's not a new trend.
Seated right away and our table was already ready. Service was generally great, although, if a special request was made, it could be a while before, for example, cocktail sauce, was provided. The crab cakes came with tartar sauce, but, I do not care for tartar sauce. Also, I received the tartar sauce, which then went to waste. Food was excellent, as always, and we planned ahead, so, we still had plenty of time to get to Signature Theatre after a pleasant dinner. This restaurant is our top pick when seeing a show at Signature, as, it finds a way to accommodate groups of 6 or more.
Food was good, 3 of us had sandwiches and the other the crab cake entree. Service was a bit slow and one person in our party received the wrong order. Had to wait a fair amount of time before the correct order (a club sandwich) was brought to the table. Thankfully the restaurant did not charge for that order. Ambience was mostly good, except for a couple in the booth next to us who was not eating, only drinking and groping each other in plain view. I assume that isn't normal for this place, just bad luck on our part.
Good food, terrible service. Multiple visits have been the same thing every time...good burgers, some other decent food options (I just end up craving a burger when I'm there), but horrendous service EVERY time. Slow, inept, non-responsive to requests. This time the waiter was clueless as to menu options, had a hard time understanding that we wanted to order kids meals when pointing to the kids menu, didn't understand our request for sweeteners for our iced tea (and never brought them...we had to get up and find another staff person to ask), we had to wait for him to bring ketchup when we requested it (despite the fact that our table ordered 3 burgers/fries and a chicken tenders/fries meal...pretty good bet we will need ketchup). The ONLY reason we go back is bc it's 5 minutes from our house, decent food for the price, and we can take our kids (as long as we also bring plenty of entertainment since we know service will be slow).
Capitol City Brewing has a great sidewalk dining area but mediocre food and slow service.
On two separate occasions now my party has arrived, checked in with the host stand by name, and then been marked by the restaurant as a no-show with OpenTable while we were dining. In the latest instance the restaurant repeatedly failed to return calls as promised in my attempts to address the issue with them directly. I won't ever return.
Just wanted to grab dinner with kids and catch a little bit of the Capitals game at the same time so we thought this would be the place. The food was great our server was accommodating but we were shocked at having the game turned on and then off on two different TVs!
Good brewery for beer and bar food. I gave it 4 stars because we are vegan and there weren't many vegan/vegetarian options. It was mostly fried, bar food. Would have liked a better menu with lighter, more fresh options. It was kid friendly, beer was good and service was great :)
"You don't come here to eat," said my boyfriend after I said that not impressed/satisfied with my dinner. We came with friends and sat in a booth. Our server was super slow and didn't come around often for beer refills. With that said, I would come here again to have beer and their soft pretzels and sit at the bar. I like the atmosphere and of course the TVs all around to watch sports.
I visited CCBC with four adult members of my family and a four year old child. Due to traffic we had to change the time for our reservation and the hostess accommodated us cheerfully. We were seated almost as soon as we arrived. Our server, Donna was fantastic! Our wine, appetizers, and meals arrived at proper intervals. She was always close by and checked on us periodically but not too much. We were allowed to order off the menu for our child and Donna offered to bring her meal out early which was perfect because after eating she promptly went to sleep, even with the background buzz in the restaurant. That made for a VERY pleasant meal for the adults! We enjoyed the entire experience. This was my second visit there (I am from Richmond, VA) and I feel sure it will not be the last!
