The service was unusually slow. We had to ask twice to put in drink orders. We ordered our food when we ordered our drinks because we had been there for almost an hour already. The food was excellent, but the service continued to lag. I have not had this experience in this restaurant before. I eat here often enough that sine if the staff recognize me, so I was really disappointed because I had two guests who were eating there for the first time. I’m hoping this experience was just a one off.
We had asked for a booth, and were told that they were already taken. There was still an empty booth when we left. Felt disregarded by the host/hostess/management
I felt that the food was overpriced for the quality. Nice GF options though.
We visited on a Tuesday Blues night which I thought was a wonderful atmosphere. The food and service was top-notch, as always.
great gluten free restaurant. Been there several times.
Capitol Hill's food is delicious , gluten free and almost every dish can be made vegetarian or vegan too.
We eat here often because of the gluten free menu. The food this time was the best everywhere. Everything was delicious.
The food was good. We shared Brussels Sprouts, which we have had a few times previously. This time it had a bit of vinaigrette, and it was still great if not better: crunchy, slightly blackened.
I had the cod cakes (Crab is so expensive that few restaurants serve it) and they were really tasty and filling.
My husband had the pumpkin risotto which he liked. However, he was really looking forward to the Bologna Spaghetti, but it had cream in it, which we were told, could not be deleted. Why the cream?
More non-Dairy would have been nice as well as more pasta options (same pasta but more sauces)
The expresso martinis were great, but not just for desert.
The food was very good. Portions were on the smaller side for the cost, but the flavor and ingredient quality seemed high.
I went with a friend who has very sensitive gluten allergies. She can have reactions from sharing utensils or cups with people who have eaten gluten, and she did not have any issues after our meal.
I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone with gluten restrictions and anyone looking for high quality food!
Brunch food was not terribly warm. The gravy on the biscuits was gluey, and the portion size surprisingly small. My friend complained that his hash was almost entirely carrots. We ended up going somewhere afterwards to satiate ourselves. Service was friendly, if not attentive.
Service was great.. The food was excellent and variety of beverages was huge. My wife found her new favorite cider/drink. Overall an awesome experience for Valentine's Day.
Excellent donner and well priced. Our server was delightful and even gave us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary!
Nice place great food
Family Valentine’s dinner- a double-date with our son and his girlfriend. Capitol Cider surprised us in a good way! Both the small plates and the entrees were wonderful, the ciders were unique and the drink menu extensive! Capitol Cider feels like an old English pub- we sat at a comfortable long table next to a “fireplace,” cozy on a cold February evening. The food and drinks came out in a timely fashion, but we didn’t feel rushed. We plan to go back!
Loved it!!!!!!! Definitely adding to the regular list!!!
The breakfast options were great, but those GF cinnamon buns.... next level! Very good food and the service was on point.
Horrible food, poor wait staff, didn't even log our reservation.... Do not recommend. Very disappointed because love to see a gluten free place but also not vegan friendly limited options very bland
We had the marinated beets (slightly pickled flavor; delicious), the fried chicken sandwich (messy, and so tasty), and the cod cakes from the happy hour menu. The cod cakes had a tiny bit too much sauce on them (it made them a little soft if you didn't eat them right away), but they were really flavorful. Everything else was flawless. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. What a great find for GF eaters AND diners with no dietary restrictions alike!
Great tasting quality food and awesome service. Not inexpensive, but not too extravagant either. My gluten sensitive family can eat anything on the menu, but none of it tastes GF! I love the Hash and Poached Egg breakfast!
Overpriced brunch and quality is not good.
Food portions were good size but not worth the money you pay. On top of the high prices, you then get charged a “living wage tax” as the min wage in Seattle is more than the company wants to pay its employees and the way they offset this is to charge the customer. Really?! Although it’s not a large amount of money, it’s the principle of the matter and had I known that the company operated this way, I would not have eaten there.
Love that everything on the menu (save the beers) is 100% gluten free.
Noisy upstairs, but the front of house was great and found us a place down stairs. That was the last positive thing of the night. Slow menu service followed by slow food delivery. Terrible selection of beers on tap or bottle, great selection of coders which we had no interest in. Terrible crab cakes, indifferent beet salad with little goat cheese, mediocre pasta and meatballs. The fish and chips were ok, not great, but ok. Fast delivery of check. I would look elsewhere if dining on Capital Hill.
I love the fish and chips here! It was my birthday dinner and I got a delicious warm brownie for my dessert for free!!
Never got any food so wouldn't know if it was good or not. Sat for 15 minutes with no acknowledgment, no water, nothing. Servers walked by several times, guy behind the bar was in the corner texting. Understaffed?
We love coming here on a date or with our kids. The gluten free menu with other clearly marked options like dairy free and egg free make ordering for our family super easy. Everything is delicious. We always order a flight of ciders and love the variety available. We've also had fun with the games available to play and the crossword puzzle made for the brunch crowd (SO HARD).
Two of my children and I have Celiac Disease so our options for dining out are very limited. Capitol Cider is 100% gluten free (except for their beer) and this creates an amazingly stress free environment for us to enjoy. We usually love to order the fried chicken sandwich (YUM) but they were out the last time we visited. We were bummed but decided on the fish sandwich and fish and chips instead. Our waitress brought out a tin of fries for us to enjoy while we waited on our food. The fries are so so good. We had a great experience, as always, and will be back!
Service was pretty slow and in-attentive
Had to constantly remind them that I was waiting on my reservation.
The cider on tap needs to be better, it’s a bunch of sour’s with no character or real jazz to them.
Food was good not great.
Unfortunately we had bad service (a server with a condescending attitude and unwillingness to help) and our meal was very lacking-missing 2 toppings in our salad (not a special request, but what the menu said it contained), and the avocado was brown. We only ate our app-that was good. We returned the food and went elsewhere. The manager was kind and took the meals off our bill
Server seemed slightly impatient with us.
Food was GREAT...just a bit too salty. Also, tables are quite close together...and canoe very drafty and cold.
The food was incredible however they apparently are biased against single patrons. I was forced to eat down stairs and subsequently did not get the points for my meal. Eventually after some wrestling with the manager all was worked out. On an upside my server was incredible.
It is not easy to find a restaurant with GF food that actually tastes good. I had high hopes for Capitol Cider and they delivered! I ordered the Mac ´n Cheese, my son had the Risotto. Delicious on both counts. I also appreciated the wine selection as I wasn’t sure if a cider house would even carry any. I enjoyed a perfectly chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Last but not least...the staff. Excellent. Attentive, warm, professional. Great place!
Server never came to our table. Waited over 15 minutes for menus from hostess. Left after another 10 minutes.
The food, service and ambiance is always so lovely at Cap Cider. I love meeting a few friends there for brunch or dinner.
Delicious gluten free fish and chips, charred brussell sprouts, and sweet potato fries. The server knows his ciders, too. We'll be back.
Great meal, as always. Knowing everything is gluten-free makes dining easier (but still quite tasty!)
