It was a great place to indulge and have a few conversations.
What a lovely experience. We were delighted that the restaurant was decorated from head to toe in Holiday decor. Our server was attentive and professional. Food quality was almost flawless. One of the sides was underwhelming and when it was brought to the managers attention, it was quickly remedied. Pride of ownership from this local family restaurant is obvious. We look forward to returning to Capitol Cellars very soon!
No ambience. Noise level was almost shouting level. My wife ordered the salmon. Inside 3/4 was raw. Sent it back and when it came back it still was horrible. I had lamb and it had very little flavor. And really 2 burgers on menu! Nothing new on menu. Won’t come back. There’s better choices for sure in boise and surrounding areas. What a waste of an evening and $. This place needs to get its act together or it’s toast.
it was a lovely experience, unfortunately we had to send back our prime rib to be cooked a bit more. but it was delicious after all!
Really Roth is place. Always great service and great food.
Great ambience and very good food. We went for lunch and it was very reasonably priced!
First time dining at Capitol Cellars and it was amazing. The food is of great value, taste and presentation. Very nice wine list and even offered sampling’s before we decided on what we wanted. Highly recommend
Had the best birthday breakfast! The food and service were exceptional! I felt so special! Will be back for lunch and dinner.
Incredibly pleasant and elegant!
Our brunch was wonderful. The Idaho quiche so yummy and so was the lamb sausage hash. Also loved the Bloody Mary and French 75. Thank you Logan for great service again and a great experience
Great ambiance and service. Very interesting location.
Very loud, the food was ok, but like other local restaurants better at the same price point.
I tried Capitol Cellars during dine out Boise. Out of the 3 restaurants I tried during the week, this was my least favorite. It was super noisy. Our server paid more attention to a party in the other room that was loud and had the side door open blowing cold air in. The portions were very small. Not a good value at all. I had heard good things about the restaurant, but I was very disappointed in my experience.
The food and service were very good. Loved the old building. Unfortunately, we were seated next to a group of six 30 somethings and they were very loud. Each trying to talk over the other. So that made our experience at the restaurant less pleasant. I did not lower the star rating because of that because it is not the restaurant’s fault some people are not considerate of the others around them. My wife ordered a coke and they brought out a bottle of coke and poured it into a glass. They gave her a metal straw (to save the turtles) which I thought was cool until she took a drink and something gross came out of the straw. For that, I did lower the overall rating.
Excellent food, very good cuisine and tase. The time between plate was long.
First time dining here. Great space. Service was fantastic. Cocktails and food was outstanding. The chocolate dessert was so good we ordered a second one. Great restaurant for a date night or large group. Highly recommend!
Once again we had an amazing meal at Capitol Cellars. I was happy to see they brought back one of my favorite appetizers the beggars purses. The service is always top notch and in my opinion it's the best bang for your buck downtown!
The food, service, ambiance and overall experience were lovely! Hosted a business meal. Quiet environment. Great place to do business. Will definitely be back!
Food and service were great. We were seated next to a large group who were obnoxiously loud. Took away from it being a romantic evening.
I had been called earlier to tell me that the power was out , but they should be back up in time. I checked 0 minutes head and was told everything was fine. Arrived for our reservation for 4 and were seated promptly. We ordered our beverages, a few minutes later our waitress comes back, she had forgotten what we ordered. The second time around the drinks were brought promptly. We ordered an appetizer (croquettes), very nice presentation and were quite good. We then ordered our entrees, after a few minutes the waitress comes back and says it will be 45 minutes for the prime rib because of the power outage. She should have known this to begin with. 1 of our party asked for some butter, after a few minutes she went to the bar to get it herself.
We went to Capital Cellars for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. Loved the atmosphere and the service. Both of our dinners were delicious! We highly recommend.
Very slow service, and they weren’t that busy. Waitress apparently also had to be bartender. Food was good, but really not worth the wait. Closet packed tables made it impossible to ignore adjacent conversations. Overall, disappointing.
Fantastic! Great atmosphere and wonderful food!
Saturday brunch was delicious! Capitol Cellars offers a “Build your own Bloody Mary Bar,” which was awesome. The staff and service were exceptional! The brunch menu offered everything from omelets, lamb sausage hash & turkey monte cristo’s, (with House made jam, yum) to burgers and French onion soup. Could not speak higher of the food, service and ambiance!
Great food. A comfortable seating and very timely service with great recommendations from an even greater steward of our presence!
Food and service was outstanding! It did however take an hour to bring our food (there were only 3 tables up on the patio being used where we were outside). I will say they were having a big party inside (we sat outside with the singer because it was odd with the big group inside taking the whole restaurant and doing presentations). So likely the slowness was caused by the big group inside. Food and service was really good.
Held a business breakfast at Capitol Cellars. The food was outstanding. Probably the best breakfast I’ve had in Boise. Our server did an excellent job. Fully understood that I was conducting business and knew how to take care of me! Quiet setting. Beautiful ambiance. The coffee is roasted locally and is delicious. Thank you Capitol Cellars! Will be back.
What an amazing dinner at Capitol Cellars! If you’re looking for fine dining in Idaho, this is the place to visit. The staff was gracious and accommodating in every aspect. Started with cocktails, prepared perfectly! Our charcuterie and cheese plate were delicious. The French Onion soup tasted house-made, (which they pride themselves of) and was true to the taste. The wine list offers over 400 selections from new world to old world, impressive wine list. The Prime Rib was top notch as were the other items ordered. Service was impeccable. Highly recommend Capitol Cellars for a special occasion! Can’t wait to try their Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch. This is a must try in Boise!
Outdoor sitting was lovely. Inside while had a neat vibe had an awful smell. Service could not have been more slow, although our waitress was very nice and friendly. Great wine selection but food was terrible and bland. Would not recommend this place
Capitol Cellars is a great place in Downtown Boise to go to lunch and get in and out within an hour. The menu has a good variety of choices with salads, sandwiches, burgers, etc. It is one of the few restaurants in town that offers a Monto Cristo sandwich, and it is a good one! We will be back.
Our first time there and it was wonderful. We're trying to figure out why it took us so long!! The staff was professional and friendly. The food was exceptional and the ambiance was nice. We won't wait two years before we return. Thanks to all!
Could you get a grumpier waitress
We really enjoyed our meal and the setup of the restaurant is unique and was pretty cool. Food was good. The Chenowith chicken was really great. We will be back for sure.
Very small, intimate restaurant. Was really wishing I loved it. Unfortunately my salmon wasn’t cooked all the way through, the rice didn’t have much flavor and the vegetable was average at best.
Service was a bit slow to start but then fine for rest of the meal. The food was good. I had the ways and means with “vegetables” but was a bit disappointing that it was only broccoli. Needs some sound absorbers as it is rock and wood so even though not very busy it was noisy and hard to hear the person right next to you. The atmosphere has great potential. Would love to see a few more booths but loved the underground ambiance. I would definitely go again but it missed the mark slightly to get five stars.
Delicious! Everything made in house (including chorizo). Atmosphere and service perfect. We waited quite a while for food but it was so much better than any other breakfast you can get in Boise that it was worth it.
Great food, wonderful service, and a superb bartender.
Had an amazing dinner at Capitol Cellars last night. Our server Tara was attentive and helpful. We started with a very tasty cheese plate, the French Onion soup I think is the best in the city, we had the Stake of the Union and the pork chop both perfectly prepared. Thanks Capitol Cellars for another delicious meal!
Clearly one of Boise's best boutique dining experiences.
Great wine cellar!!
