As usual, everything was fantastic at Capital Grill. The food quality and service is consistently good each and every time we go. For us, this is the best steak house in Cincinnati and we have been to them all!
Third time there! Hasn’t disappointed yet. The halibut is outstanding. Also have had the Oscar filet.....to die for. Chris was our server twice. We I’ll ask for him again. He is great at his job. I am a fan, I even like their Mac n cheese better than jeff Ruby’s. 🤫
Top notch! Our server Barry was excellent, and the food was incredible!
I truly enjoyed the food and atmosphere . The menu was diverse and not over priced. It was a 5 star experience to me.
Great menu choices and informed waiters .
We were given table promptly and enjoyed all the food.
Not our first visit. Very good food and service. We’ll be back.
Beautiful elegant atmosphere. Steaks are really good (not as good as Ruby but a close second) and their sides are to die for (better than Ruby’s!). Lobster truffle Mac is amazing, the Brussels sprouts are th best I’ve ever had anywhere and their mushrooms were also the best. Everyone raves about the mashed potatoes. I definitely recommend!
Jeremy was an amazing server. Start to finish.. food was amazing.
Bottom line - the wine by the glass available is inadequate. The lower end cabs, which are still not cheap, are simply poor wines. The higher end cabs are priced preposterously high.
First of all, the food was excellent, however, the service was way below par for a restaurant of this level. It was Christmas Eve but they seemed tp be way under staffed. It took at least 10 minutes for someone to approach us after being seated. Another 10 minutes to take a drink order after leaving an iPad like device displaying the drink selections. We received our food in a timely manner and then waited so long to get our leftovers boxed that the waiter had a complimentary dessert sent to our table because he realized that the service was so slow. There was even a long wait to get the dessert. Finally, there was a 20 minute delay in getting our car from valet. There were several angry patrons waiting for cars in the lobby.
This place is always on my list of go-to, consistently good restaurants. This time I was disappointed. Since it was Christmas Eve, I should give it a pass - but I can’t. This is where decent restaurants should shine...still put out excellent food when all hell is breakin* loose. It wasn’t I’ll-never-go-back bad, but two steaks were WAY undercooked and the waiter was dismissive/put out by us asking for correct temperature. I think he thought he was working at Le Bernardin, not a chain steak house. Ick.
My recommendation is go here, just not on Christmas Eve
We had an amazing dinner. Barry was our server and gave great recommendations for every course and wine. It made our Christmas Eve truly special.
Service was awesome. All of staff are trained well and have customer first mind. Wine is overpriced. A hair was in our bread basket, but the server apologized and changed it quickly. Overall we had a good dinner.
Absolutely fantastic Christmas Eve dinner. We spent several Christmas Eve dinners at Eddie Merlot’s, but the service has been horrible the past two years, so we opted for a change of scenery—best decision we made during the holiday season. We will definitely return. The service staff, and especially our server Jeremy, was top notch. The food was fantastic, steaks were tender and well prepared and the “Oscar” topping had loads of crab. The complimentary brussel sprouts were phenomenal and the chocolate cake with port infused cherries is not to be missed.
Fabulous Christmas Eve dinner with a wonderful waitress. Our meal was fantastic. The Tuna is over the top and my filet the best I ever had in any restaurant in Cincinnati. Incredible.
