Capital City Grill Downtown Ratings and Reviews
I gave this a low because they have done better in the past. We arrived 5 ish. Ordered my drink and it was wrong. They fixed that but when we got our food mine was cold and old tasting like it was made yesterday. My friend never got her salad they comped her said they were really busy. Mind you they just opened for dinner. I have been here lots after live after five and it was amazing. Hope they can fix the problems. I MAY be back.
The food was great. Everyone in my group were pleasantly surprised with the food. The service could have been a littler better since the restaurant was not that busy. I know that sounds harsh. It really was not ment to sound that way. Our server probably had other duties besides serving our table
I had not been here in awhile, but the service and the food turned out to be just fine. I had the Seafood Pasta and it was very tasty. My husband had the Catfish Orleans and he enjoyed it. Overall a good place to dine if going to the Manship Theater next door!
It helps to have reservations on Saturday night before a concert. I booked this reservation about a month ago. Opentable is the best for prebooking. Service was mediocre. Our waitress was Emily. She was very attentive, but the kitchen was very slow on our simple orders of grilled shrimp and chicken breast. The shrimp were hot but the potatoes were not. Chicken breast was not hot nor the veggies. The manager did discount our meal due to the kitchen being slow. Overall a decent experience but needs to work better with kitchen on busy nights.
Good experience overall. The only downer was that the Sunday brunch menu is not listed online so when we weren't offered when we came in to eat we had no idea we were missing out on brunch/ drink specials until we saw other tables with breakfast food. We did ask a server for a menu so we knew what the drink specials were and so that we knew what to look forward to for next time. So if you go on Sunday make sure to get a brunch menu.
I made an online reservation through OpenTable but when I got to the restaurant they had no record of the reservation. We showed them the email confirmation though and they were able to seat us outside almost immediately, which was much better because inside was crowded and very loud. The service was excellent and prompt although I wish their outside seating was a little more comfortable and quieter.
I enjoy the relaxed feel at Capital City Grill - so much so that I've eaten here several times. The food is comforting, plentiful and moderately priced. Our party split the bang bang shrimp. The entrees varied from pasta to a variety of fish dishes, all excellent. Service was good considering there was large convention in town.
Our first time to eat here. We were at Live after 5 and made the 5 min walk to eat at Capital City Grill. We loved everything about the place. Location, food, ambiance and drinks. If you've never been, you're missing out on a great place. We will go back soon!
I had forgotten how loud the place is. It's so loud that one end of the table could not hear the other. The descriptor above gives "energetic" as the option for the loudest, I call it painful and distracting. The service was very very slow. Food was ok, but nothing to brag about.
Did not had a good experience. Had made reservations and when i arrived at the time of my reservation, the table was not ready. Waited 40 minutes for table to be ready.. Staff was not prepared for the holiday. Food was rushed , inaccurate and cold. Will not recommend for any holiday.
The service was good, and the food was fantastic! One strange thing did happen though, at the end when our server brought our dessert out, she accidentally dropped a small plate and got ketchup all over the sleeve of my dress shirt. I am totally understanding of accidents and it was no big deal. She promptly said she would be right back with a wet towel to help me clean off the ketchup. She did indeed come back with the towel, but not until after she served two other tables and took another tables order while I sat there with ketchup on my shirt. I guess I just figured getting the mess she made off of me would have been #1 on her list at that point and it was so long (almost 10 minutes), that it actually got very awkward. But other than that situation we were very satisfied with the restaurant!
We took my boyfriend's young daughters here the night before Valentine's Day. It was our first time dining here and it will definitely be my last. The fried fish platter my boyfriend ordered tasted frozen and not seasoned well at all. I don't even remember what I ordered. Must not have been memorable. The girls ordered chicken tenders from the kid's menu. I was expecting more from this restaurant and won't be back.
