Food was not on par with the feel/setting of the place. It was also pricey compared to the quality of the food. Food quality was decent but not great. Everything else was fine, also food was not as hot as we would have preferred. Service was great!
Ok food. Good service. Expensive. $25 minimum on food per person (even kids) on Mother's Day. Fee to split a plate. Ok overall.
Terrible service. Went for Mother's Day brunch and were told that the kitchen was backed up so they might not have brunch. What did they expect? They knew it would be busy!
The food was reasonable - my wife had fish, I had lamb shanks. I thought the lamb was fair (not great, not poor) - a bit overly salted and fatty. We used a Costco discount card; without that I'd probably the value was only so-so.
Best part of the place is ambiance inside. It was full and active.
I was pretty disappointed with Capers. Service was bad. We ask some food- they substituted the food without notice. Didn't even compensate us for that. Service was crawling. slow. One server was handling gazillion tables, and didn't have time for us. The food wasn't that great. The place was noisy. I'm definitely not coming back.
My experience was awesome I took two people that had never been to Capers they enjoyed it immensely we had cocktails two appetizers and entree and dessert and then went over to the bar area to relax for awhile and I met the manager who was amazing and truly has a desire to please in accommodate I highly recommend this restaurant
Service was very slow.
The food was good but it was very, very, very noisy. We won't go back.
Love the trout and kale salad. Classy restaurant.
Food and service were Great! It's more if a sports bar so loud is what is it.
more of a sports bar, very loud and don't sit next to the waiters station, the staff makes more noise then then the restaurant
Though the staff seemed friendly, and the manager was responsive to greet us at the door, the response time after we'd been seated, and ordering could use help. Wait persons though nice, should have been quicker to acknowledge our party, get drinks, and ask how choosing from the menu was going. The food, is more or less over glorified pub food, with a few more choices like pasta, and so forth. We went for Easter Sunday brunch knowing the food was what it was, but the service as I mentioned needed help. Thanks
Its a nice place and does get busy on the weekends. We use to come here often so we decided to check it out but this time was different . The service was slow and seemed like all the attention was given to the folks sitting at the bar area. I have always ordered the steak bites as my meal cause at the time it was plenty along with the vegetables but this time I was disappointed. My wife even said thats it there use to be more than that . I even noticed the other folks waiting for food or drinks and even the check so they can leave. They must of been short handed for the folks sitting in the dinning room so if you decide to try this place out I would recommend you sit at the bar for your food and drinks. The service there will be much faster.
Great menu, good service, very accommodating, reasonable prices.
We went to Capers to celebrate my mother in law's birthday.
The hostess seated us promptly (we had reservations).
Unfortunately, our table was smack in the middle of the room, close to the kitchen, the bar and the service station. Needless to say, a conversation was pretty much impossible. I would recommend to everyone to ask for a table in the back if you like to talk to each other while you eat.
Our server was friendly but I think either new or not trained well. She definitely tried but lacked food as well as drink knowledge. In her defense, nothing a couple hours of decent coaching couldn't fix. Same is true for the rest of wait stuff. Our busboy kept trying to take plates from people who were still eating and they all used the close serving station as their chat hang out. The bartender was definitely good and so were his drinks.
The food was almost perfect. The braised short ribs and the lamb were excellent. It only fell short a little on the greens/salads (we had one person who had to substitute her starch because of food allergies. It was the only dish that was under par).
A more polished service and better noise control could turn capers into a highly recommended place. The food is that good....but so far, doesn't make up for its down points. I would go back for a casual meal/lunch but not for a nice dinner date.
Service was fast and good, but food was really marginal. For that price we could have had a decent dinner. Sorry, but you have to improve quality of food!
This is our third time being disappointed here, and it will be our last. Food and drinks are overpriced, and the service is awful. Waitress wanted nothing to do with us. Go next-door to Forthright, but better prices, and service.
Artichoke always good. Pasta was great. Salads wonderful
Decided to go to dinner on a Saturday night and made a reservation a few hours before. Thank goodness we did. Capers was quite crowded. We each ordered something different and were all pleased with our choices. There were no leftovers to take home--it was that good!
Ate at Capers for Valentine's day dinner with my girlfriend. Service was great, all the staff were very friendly and professional. Food was excellent, my only complaint being that it was a bit pricey.
First time here. We had a great dinner. Very tasteful and unique.
Love the food and drinks, service was great. We had a great time there. They have plenty of TVs, so you can watch your team play while you enjoy your dinner or drinks.
Loud and slow. Although we were able to order in a timely manner, the food did not arrive until 40 minutes after ordering. Almost everything was a problem. Salad with dressing on side came smothered in dressing. My husband wanted a low carb entree. He asked if he could have the low carb chicken made with ahi instead and was told yes. When the food finally arrived it came with rice and sauteed vegetables as opposed to sliced tomatoes and steamed vegetables. We were given a dessert. IF we ever return it will be mid-week and early before the drunk people start getting loud.
The restaurant is tucked away in a neighborhood shopping center. Their food was delicious and reasonably priced. The menu is extensive. We loved it and will return again.
Good Quality Food (see menu)
Great good as alway
Great selection for multiple types of food items. Service is great. Pricing is reasonable.
The service was very good and the food was quite good, but the noise level was not enjoyable. For the prices they charge, and based on the menu, it was surprising to show up to find a sports bar ambience, with many large screen tvs and people screaming at a football game. It was not what we were looking for or expecting. I wouldn't go back.
Love this place for Happy Hour, getting together with friends, watching sports, whatever. Great menu for Happy Hour as well as drink prices. Service is always good.
Disappointed in their chicken lettuce wraps and that's the only thing.
Not sure why Capers is on Open Table. I usually associate Open Table restaurants with being a little more fancy, but this was NOT the case. I would compare it to a Giorgio's or a smaller Chili's. The appetizers we had were good, but the entrees were ok. I had the salmon which was delish but the rice pilaf that accompanied it was doused in salt. My husbands tri tip strips was like boiled meat. It look and tasted like it. Sure it's a low-carb meal but it came with a lettuce garnish, a sauce and horseradish. How about some vegetables? We decided not to do dessert or drinks and went next door to Forthright. Don't think I am coming back here ever again. Even in jeans, a casual jacket and heels I was clearly overdressed. The place is sooo overcrowded, mostly with sports peeps at the bar. Service was good though....
Great dinner. Friendly neighborhood restaurants. Highly recommend.
Capers never disappoints me and is my go to restaurant. Their low-carb menu options are perfect for my New Year's healthy eating plan!
We went on New Year's Eve because of a last minute decision to go out and it was one of the few places who had openings. I see why they had openings. We got there 5 minutes before our scheduled reservation, but had to wait almost 30 minutes before being seated. They were apologetic about the wait, but maybe need to monitor their reservation system better so people can be seated at their reservation time. Especially since they don't really have a waiting area - just the bar. The food was mediocre for the price we paid. We most likely won't be going back.
Granted, it was New Years Eve. Special menu, very pricey. But despite being on time for our reservation, we were seated just inside the front door, and we froze every time it opened. Our server was initially quite prompt...but, the entrees arrived less than 2 minutes after we got our salads. They were taken back, but it was 15-20 minutes till they were brought back - they were, however, fresh. The entrees were all delicious, but water was never refilled. I think the restaurant was in over their heads for this event. If you're going to up the prices and seat us poorly, at least provide exceptional service.
Excellent food, only downside is sometimes menu items aren't available. I've been here twice when there was no lasagna. Probably a management problem in the kitchen when ordering food/supplies. Good place to eat before or after a movie at AMC Saratoga right down the street. Restaurant is loud, so not the best place if you're looking for intimate conversation.
Chicken lettuce wraps came with lettuce wedge! Questioned it since most lettuce leaves were not usable for a wrap. Large slices of chicken rather than smaller portions.
Server and waitress both responded that is how they are prepared.
Not like any lettuce wraps I've had elsewhere and definitely would not order again.
Good food; quite noisy though. Previously had only been there for lunch; think I'd prefer that as the noise isn't an issue as I recall.
We had a reservation but were seated about 45 minutes late. They did apologize frequently and kept us updated. We ended up getting squished in next to the bar at a Frankentable (mixture of round bistro tables and square tables). Service was good. Food was middling at best.
Sunday Brunch options were varied; our selections were great!
Bloody Marys' were made to perfection: spicy for one and not for the other.
While sports TV'' were on, sound did not interfere with normal conversation.
Great place. I'll be back!
