Adequate lunch, nothing special. Food was alright. Service was okay.
The chicken quesadillas were dry we had to ask for bread the server did not come back to fill our drinks and then he kept our tip leftover money
first time at Capers. the vibe was good, lively , faily anf friends .
The disappointent was the food. Steak was tough, dishes were salty, and basics like mashed potatoes dry. Maybe its a better place for apps and drinks.
Our server was very kind. My partner had a bad day and was crying at the table and he handled it very well. The food was excellent, I was pleased.
Love Capers! Capers Campbell is a very consistent choice for casual food and libations. A goto choice for an extensive menu of small bites and a very well balanced American menu with options for all diner tastes. Full bar with decent wine choices, only wish that owner Cam would put a rotating tap onboard for those of us who prefer true craft beers (Anything dark) instead of the basic lager & pseudo craft lineup.
The restaurant was very overbooked. When we arrived for our 6:30 reservation, there were several groups waiting,all claiming to have reservations. The hostess was probably inexperienced. She was not communicating and seemed to be avoiding the entrance podium. We were seated at about 7:00. The server was friendly. The kitchen was apparently overwhelmed. The meals for our party of 4 were served 2 at a time resulting in an awkward wait. The food was not up to the quality I have had in past visits to Capers. They need to do a better job of managing reservations.

Sports bar with higher end food choices. The food was just OK. I ordered the chicken piccata, but got the chicken marsala. Oops. The chicken was overcooked. The wife had the pork tenderloin, which was good. The wine list is minimal, corkage is $20
The waiter comes and asked if we want drinks and I asked for water to start with as I had not decided on wine. Comes back 15 minutes later to take our order. We ordered soup which never came out. My wife ordered a filet mignon with prawns and asked for the sauce on the side instead of on the steak. He said they were too busy and would not do that. I asked him to give her the sauce that the put on the filet without the prawns and again he said they would not do that. O asked the hostess to have the manager come by after our filets came out (minus prawns which I ordered) and our steaks were covered with the sauce. The manager said the could have put the sauce on the side. I told him that’s had received the steak minus the prawns and he said he would bring me something else but I said don’t worry about it. The waiter never even brought us steak knives so we had to cut it with table knives.
When we were done eating the waiter came and asked if we wanted dessert. We just wanted out of there so we told him no I asked the waiter to make sure not to charge for the soup he never brought which was $10 a cup. He said he would tell the manager and then brought the bill. He never apologized for his mistakes. The manager had removed my glass of wine from my bill and the soup. We have eaten at capers a number of times in the past. I can’t say I plan to return any time soon.
We had to wait almost an hour—we had a 7:30 reservation and were seated around 8:20. Meanwhile lots of couples walked in and were seated ahead of us. We finally got seated at the tiniest table and dinner was a whirlwind, with courses overlapping our tiny table. Our bill came by 9

Food was terrific as usual. Wait staff was superb, more attentive than usual. But the wait for our table was long. We waited almost 20 min past our Open Table reservation time to be seated. The two young gentlemen were incredibly sweet but seemed overwhelmed with the crowd and flipping between call in reservations, wait list walk in guest sign ups and Open Table reservations. Food came fairly quickly but we skipped on dessert to allow other patrons to be seated. It was a cold night for guests to be waiting outside.
High end sports bar feel

We had a 6pm reservation, and then waited 45 minutes to be seated. The guy at the desk seated a walk in ahead us at a table for two ( the guy at the desk wasn't keeping track of who was waiting). Another guy was seated at a table for three, the rest of his party didn't seem to show up ( seated by the guy). Hmmmm. The gal at the desk was running all over the place, handling take out and keeping an eye on the tables, definitely over worked! Once seated our server Stephanie was excellent and so was the food.
I did an open table reservation and still was seated in the bar area at a very small table.
The food was delicious, the service was good and the ambiance was nice. I enjoyed myself.

Decided to check this place out since I was gifted a gift certificate. We decided to order the crab cakes. $17 for two little crab cakes with a lot of filler was not worth it at all. I had the crab stuffed salmon, which was not bad. Salmon was moist, but I wish they gave more vegetables. My boyfriend had the meatloaf which was actually pretty good! The restaurant was packed on a Friday night and really loud. It definitely made it difficult to have a conversation without shouting. Overall, everything was pretty clean. It did seem odd to me that for the size of the restaurant, there is only one bathroom per gender, and there's frosted glass on the door...not very much privacy.
Food and service was great! just a little loud. Our guests enjoyed it as well.
Capers is a nice Neighborhood restaurant. The food is consistently good with friendly servers.
They were running so far behind on there reservations that we never got seated and left. There was at least three other groups ahead of us that had reservations that left also. This is a common occurrence at Cappers
Really great hamburger and cocktail was well-made. A very busy Friday night but we got our table quickly and service was very good.
It was way, way too noisy for us. The food was OK but the noise was terrible. We had a hard time talking.
When we arrived we were told that they were overbooked and we should not rely on OpenTable to book a reservation within 2 hrs of dining. We would have to wait until a table opened up. There were many open tables easily to be seen. We asked for the manager and was told the was none on site. After expressing a great deal of dissatisfaction and waiting 20 min past our reservation we were seated at a table next to the kitchen. A terrible/ noisy/ cramped location . Wait staff and food was great as usual. The two young men attending to the front door need a lot of coaching to manage that position better.
We enjoyed going to Capers on New Year's Eve. It was lively and they had music and dancing which was fun.
The calamari appetizer is always tasty. Service was great. We'll be back; it's a neighborhood gem.
Capers is our go to neighborhood restaurant/bar. We always have great service and food. Rick the bartender does a great job and is very attentive.
Got us in on new Years Eve same day! They were swamped but sat us right away. Ordered surf and turf. It was very good, shrimp were not jumbo as advertised, but very good. Only negative is the prices were very high for their special menu. Wedge salad was good. Drinks were Ok and the creme Brule was outstanding, but small.
Food and service was great. It was NYE so I was a little disappointed that they had a limited menu and it didn’t show that when booking. Overall we fully enjoyed. Got very crowded and they sat us at a bar table which I was a little surprised since I had a reservation. We will go back though
We arrived earlier than our reservation, but we checked in when we arrived. We told the hostess we would wait at the bar, which we were happy to do. We waited well beyond our reservation time though and spoke to the hostess. It was clear she had forgotten about us, but she made an effort to seat us right away after we spoke to her.
Good cocktails. Good food. Service at our table was good.

This was our first visit to Capers. The place seems very friendly. The staff was very accommodating and attentive. The food was well prepared. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and plan to come again.
I should have listened to Anthony Boudin in "Kitchen Confidential;" avoid restaurants on Sunday nights. We went last night for our favorite fried chicken salad. The chicken was over cooked, tough and smelled odd. The dressing was so too much that the salad was doing the back stroke.
The server did a good joe, attentive and pleasant.
We'll go back, just careful as to the day of the week.
The place was over crowded and extremely noisy. We had called earlier in the day to confirm reservations and let them know it was a birthday celebration. The table they had for us was in the middle of a company’s holiday celebration. We left and dined next door, better food and atmosphere.

Seated promptly, ordered Wedge salad which was good, my wife had Prawns which she liked, I had Chicken Marsala and the sauce was good but the chicken was tough and super hot inside but barely warm outside (like it may have been warmed up in the microwave). I will go there again because I have a gift certificate but overall it is pretty pricey for the quality.
I enjoyed everything about Capers except for the noise level. I Like a quiet place to eat and this place was loud! But, the food was fantastic, and the server was top notch! All in all it was a great experience.
