I went to a hotel & restaurant management school for undergrad and, despite still being dollar sensitive, turned into a service standard snob. This place just blew away all my expectations. From the knowledge of the menu (including wine pairing options) to checking in on us with subtle eye contact as to not disturb the conversation of what was our anniversary dinner, everything was perfect!
Also needless to say, the food was excellent. They are not shy about the protein portions and the flavor profiles were bold and distinct. I enjoyed the Ribeye while my girl friend had the grilled Branzino. The only reason I wouldn’t order the same entrees again is because the other options on the menu looked incredible too!
Cape Dutch is great anytime. Great food, lovely evening, good service.
Wonderful and extremely knowledgeable waiter. I little loud in the lower area but I was private areas that may be good for a work dinner like ours.
On my trip to Atlanta, I was able to fit in a visit to Cape Dutch. As always, it was a wonderful experience. My husband had the mussels (always terrific) and he tried the bison - which he really liked. I had the small lobster tails and then the scallops. Good I can't eat here too often or I would weigh 200lbs.!!!! The service was also perfect! A wonderful meal and I look forward to being able to visit again.
Very Disappointing experience! So many things went wrong to mention entirely. Service very poor. Waiter was more interested in carrying on loud conversations with patrons. He was so loud for so long my wife and I could hear each other talk. It really ruined our anniversary dinner...which they did nothing to make special or even mention despite being told in advance. The food was most disappointing. My 70 dollar steak was so salty it was inedible after 1 bite. The wedge salad was nothing of the sort...it was ribboned lettuce...almost like a chopped salad. Why they call it wedge is beyond me. They offer no bread or even have available. Way over priced for the experience!
Excellent food and excellent service! Definitely returning
Cape Dutch is wonderful! The food is delicious and the atmosphere lovely. The servers are all very nice. We always enjoy Cape Dutch and look forward to going back soon!
The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and very elegant. We tried a couple of appetizers recommended by the waiter and they were both incredibly delicious. The branzino was my main course and it was sooooo yummy. My friends had one of the other fish entrees and enjoyed it. The desserts were beautiful and so good too!
We were celebrating my husbands birthday and I ensured that face was included in my reservation. When we arrived at the location not even one person mentioned or wished hubby a happy birthday. How disappointing😔We have been to lower and higher caliber restaurants and those locations were able to make our visit pleasant and memorable.
Service was excellent and the food delicious - great restaurant
Excellent for a special night out. Food, service and ambiance is super.
I took my girlfriend here for her birthday, and they did not disappoint. The staff was professional and personable. They balanced being attentive with letting us have our space. The food was incredible. We strongly recommend the Sea Scallop Tartar and the Charcuterie Board for appetizers. My girlfriend got the Filet and I got the Strip Special. Both were cooked to perfection and appropriately seasoned. We will definitely come back.
This was our first time at Cape Dutch. Cute little place in an interesting part of town. Beautiful interior. Food had its highs. I thought the cocktails and the salads were the best part. Steaks were okay. I had the strip and my wife had the filet. She seemed to enjoy hers more than I did mine, but I am probably more picky. Ordered the chocolate cake for desert, which was good. Espresso machine was broken. Service was fine. Not over the top, but not bad either. I am glad we went, but not planning to go back next week.
Amazing evening. Highly recommend! Food, service, knowledge and helpfulness of those working were top notch. Lovely atmosphere.
Hands down and amazing dining experience, food service everything was A+
We celebrated our Anniversary at Cape Dutch this year and it was a wonderful evening. The food was outstanding, our server was fast and very knowledgeable but never hovering and intruding. It was busy and therefore a bit loud but the ambience is wonderful. We will definitely return.
Second visit to this restaurant, as the first was so lovely! Many great dining choices in Atlanta, but Cape Dutch is one of my new favorites! Chef Philippe is not only a phenomenal chef, but a fantastic host as well! Great bar as well! Highly recommend!!!
Excellent food and wine and a fantastic atmosphere. Love the inspired menu.
innovative dishes, perfectly cooked, attentive and friendly service, attractive and spacious dining room.
My wife and I had a great experience. Our sever was attentive with our dining experience.
My wife and I both had steaks, and they were tasty and prepared to our liking.
For starters, we had the fried lobster tails, and I recommend it.
Love the feel of this place and the latest menu is excellent once again. Always enjoyable and delicious.
First timers. Came to celebrate wife’s birthday. Had a wonderful
Experience & great meal. Service was impeccable.
Thank you for making my birthday special. We’ll be back soon.
Great service and delicious food!
Lovely venue. Atmosphere was superb. Food and service were excellent. Wait staff was very attentive and responsive. This has to be one of the top restaurants in Atlanta.
Watermelon carpaccio and heirloom tomato salad app was excellent, but that was the high point of the meal. The ribeye was ok, but not exceptional for the price. The brussel sprouts were a soggy mess, not caramelized as described. The chocolate cake was dry and oddly paired with apples. They had none of their advertised coravin specialty wines. The service was robotic and impersonal. And with every dish, I had to remind the waiter that I had not received the glass of wine I’d ordered to pair with it, so each dish sat on the table waiting and getting cold. Overall, and underwhelming experience for a tab of $250 for two.
The food and service was great. The restaurant is very stylish. There was an interesting and unusual, but subtle use of herbs and spices. I was very impressed and I am difficult to impress.
Because of a business meeting in the area we dined much earlier than we normally would have so the restaurant was very quiet and early evening sun very bright. Our server was terrific and his suggestions were excellent! Would come back to Cape Dutch.
I was so impressed. It was the best fish dish I ever had (Sea Bass) and the most delicious asparagus from Burgundy. The Chef, Philippe, came out to speak to us, and gave us wonderful recommendations for the new menu. Amazing experience.
Excellent ambiance. Our server was very attentive and overall we will be back
Sat at the bar and had a great meal and fantastic service from Bonnie and Mitch was a please to talk with on Thursday evening.
Date night with my wife. Always great food and attentive service at Cape Dutch. The staff is very friendly, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere fantastic. Cape Dutch is one of the top choices for our rotational adult only night out meals.
Loved it! Had a great and knowledgeable server, they held our table and let us sit at the bar for a drink even after our reservation time past, and we had a great time!
We love Cape Dutch. The food is delicious. The servers are always nice and know their trade. The atmosphere is lovely. It is always an enjoyable evening and everything is always wonderful!
Whenever I come into Atlanta, Cape Dutch is on my list of restaurants to visit. My husband always has the mussels and I like the varied seasonal items that Chef Phillippe adds to the menu. Wednesday night was the first night of their new seasonal menu and it did not disappoint! Always a wonderful evening!
Cape Dutch is a quaint place and would be good for a date or an outing with friends. Although I did not take my children, I get the impression that it is likely not the most kid-friendly place. The food was good with very unique entrée and ingredient choices. We tried many and varying menu options and enjoyed everything we tried. If I have any negative complaints it would be with the level of service. Perhaps it was our server, or perhaps just a bad night for our server, but we found the communication and general short term Interaction to be awkward and somewhat uninviting. Although I would go back for the food, the service leaves something to be desired. And with the myriad restaurant choices in the metro Atlanta area, I Believe this restaurant is worth a try but likely not a second visit.
I love the food of course but the vibe is equally important for a restaurant. We came here for a family member's birthday. They really took care of us throughout the night from drink recommendations (definitely try their aviation, even if you're not a gin fan) to dinner menu suggestions. I had the braised beef short rib and it was so tender! They were thoughtful to send a complimentary dessert - one of the best bread puddings I've ever tasted. Overall, it was a truly memorable experience!
one of my go too restaurants. always excellent food and service. semiprivate dining experiences available for larger groups such as ours was.
Great food and atmosphere. Got the fried lobster tail and mussels for appetisers. Amazing! Short ribs and steak and frittes for mains. Will definitely go again!!
The food was gorgeous, the service was incredibly attentive, and overall just a wonderful evening.
