Cap City Fine Diner & Bar - Gahanna
It was nice to have our Easter dinner at Cap City! Many families seemed to have the same idea. The wait staff and food were excellent. We can always count on a great experience at Cameron Mitchell restaurants!
Great food, amazing service! Well run restaurant.
Our server was amazing. He was friendly - efficient & everything we ordered was perfect!
My husband ordered his burger well done & our server actually cut it in half (like we ask) before bringing it out, just to make sure it was well done! Very very good experience.
Was very disappointed in my meal. I chose the pecan crusted chicken. It was over cooked and I was expecting chicken breast ....not a pounded out chicken thigh as one of the pieces. Would have been nice to have more of a traditional Easter meal as a special selection on the menu. Just wasn’t what I was expecting. :(
We celebrated Easter with lunch at Cap City. The food was excellent, and our server was attentive and personable. We really enjoyed our experience.
Our experience was awesome!! We had brunch here on Easter with 10 out of town guests. They all raved about the service and the quality of our meals. Everyone wants to come back next time they visit us. Your restaurant never disappoints!! Thank you to your staff for making our Easter great.
Excellent brunch choice. Menu had good variety, the portions were good and everything tasted great. I had the four egg omelette with potatoes, which were soft in the middle and crispy on the edges. My daughter had the french toast, which she said was wonderful. My wife had the quiche, which she also enjoyed. And my son had the breakfast burrito, which he also enjoyed. We were quite full for hours afterwards! Would recommend !
Always a treat
Went with family for Easter saturday brunch. 9 altogether, with 3 kids. Reserved online and they called to confirm when they opened, nice touch. Kids prices are great, $5 for meal, fries and drink. Kids chicken was excellent. Prices a bit high but portions big enough 3 meals went home. Dinner rolls were brought for all and actually had a sweet topping. On the blue cheese chips, they came drizzeled with a cheese sauce. I asked for the cheese on the side which was fine. The waitress noticed the kids weren't eating and brought another small side of just plain chips. Also had calamari which was nicely done. Meatloaf is good, though just warm. Quiche was nice, hot, and large. Break hash was good and many selections to choose fromGreat cheeseburgers. Nice assortment of beers, though average price. Service excellent. Casual atmosphere and nice go to in future for holidays.
We visit Cap City regularly...this night the server did not get our requests correctly...she was nice but did not listen! It was very noicey also. We sat in the little room to the left of the front door! This was an off night all the way around!
Cameron needs to update the decor. Looks tired.
Cap City has good food and great service. It's a staple for our family. The Gahanna restaurant lacks the ambiance of the downtown location, but the food is wonderful.
Excellent service and celebration of a friend’s birthday!
Reservation request (booth) was ignored but eventually accommodated; server was excellent. Food - nothing special and over priced. Won’t go back given all the other choices in Columbus.
We enjoyed a small family reunion and brunch at the Gahanna Cap City. The food and service were excellent, as always.
The food and service was great. The only complaint is the noise level.
Wonderful food! Incredible service. Our server, Stephanie, was very attentive to my dietary needs since I have a gluten intolerance. This was the first time I have been able to go to a restaurant with my husband and be able to have rolls before dinner (since Stephanie brought me gluten free rolls). Everything was delicious and I know it was prepared without any cross contamination because I wasn’t sick afterward. Can’t wait to go back again!
Service as always was outstanding. Food was well prepared and prices are reasonable. Noise level can get high at times. Mitchell has several facilities in Columbus. Not to take anything away from Cap City I would rank it at the bottom of the Mitchell offerings.
Wonderful dining experience! Look forward to our next visit there.
The stroganoff was amazing. Also, I am very picky about calamari and I have to say they have the absolute best in Columbus! The servers were all nice as well. I highly recommend this place!
Food and service was great! Prices seem to be going up!
Great food!! A bit noisy for table conversation. We had a great server! Can not remember her name (tall, slender, brown long hair).
Great place for a family get together. As always, the food was delicious and service was impeccable. Was a tad noisy but could be because the restaurant was packed with other diners. Ended our lunch with carrot cake take-out. Cap city’s carrot cake is the BEST in the world - a decadent treat! Try it!
We are regulars at Cap City Gahanna. The staff is always welcoming and the food is always great. These are the main reasons we eat at least to three times a week.
Mediocre at best. Not worth the price
We were celebrating my 50th birthday; we came to Cap City because they have come of my favorite dishes. The food didn't disappoint - and of course the portions are huge. But the best part was the service we received from our waiter - we felt completely pampered! He made us feel like we were the most important part of his day. Thanks Cap City for helping us celebrate this milestone in style!
We have always loved going here. The quality of the food is exceptional but it seems that since our last visit that the portions are getting smaller. I understand that the restaurant industry is competitive and the margins of profits are thin, but getting smaller portions & raising the price doesn’t seem the way to go.
The people that met us at the door was very friendly. We were very happy with our waitress and our over all time there. We will definitely go back.
Had a great time. We brought my MIL from out of town. Loved all the food. It was great to see Salmon on the Kid’s Menu. My daughter loved it. Since moving to Columbus I’ve been searching for a great Fish & Chips and I’ve found it! The pie and milkshakes were also delicious.
Excellent food and service.
This was not our first time at this restaurant. I had the meatloaf which I had been craving all day and I was not disappointed! My wife enjoyed her dinner as well. What blew us away was the dessert that we shared - it was better than excellent - lemon blueberry crumble with Graeters maple cinnamon crunch ice cream! I'm getting hungry just writing about it!
Our waitress was kind of vanilla. (Blah). The chips were just okay. Matt the Miller’s are much better. The chili was like warm and lacked chili spice. The chocolate cake was disappointing. It was very dry.
My husband’s slaw had very little dressing on it. It was like eating just shredded cabbage. His meatloaf was good. Our friend couldn’t eat her noodle soup due to the pepper. The waitress didn’t ask if there was a problem. Just left it on the table.
The restaurant decor was modern, but warm feeling. Our waiter was good and observant of a birthday at our table and offered a free dessert. The food was good and the dessert of chocolate cake was delicious and very large portion which was shared by the table.
I would recommend this location and will dine here again.
Cap City in Grandview is a standard for our family so having the Gahanna location uphold the same standard is great. I can't think of anything that I've ordered there that I did not enjoy.
The open atmosphere can be a bit noisy when the restaurant is full, but not so much so that it's a problem heading the person next to you.
The Romano crusted chicken is amazing (get extra sauce for dipping the dinner rolls).
The service was amazingly fast today too.
Many of my friends love the place, but I have been twice now and am not impressed. They are very pricey for the portion and quality of the food you receive. The food just was okay and for the price I expected the wow factor. The hostess was very nice and accommodating and the waiter was satisfactory. Note, happy hour only applies to the bar seats, not the restaurant per the waiter so no discount on appetizer or drinks at the table. I doubt I will return for a third visit.
Absolutely would recommend. Everything I have EVER had to eat at Cap City has been delicious. I think the prices are a little high, but the food is amazing.
For Sunday Brunch there is no finer location in all of Central Ohio.
The only thing missing is a view worthy of the food and service, that stripmall location is great for parking but not much else.
My date got a tough ribeye-it was quickly returned and replaced with an excellent piece of meat. Plus-a free dessert. Handled excellently!
Always good food. I got the Saturday blue plate. Was really good pot roast but for $26 value probably not there. Probably the only over priced item on the menu. Have to try one of their desserts. Big portions with a reasonable price.
Absolutely loved the food and atmosphere. Service was excellent. We will definitely return.
