Cap City Fine Diner & Bar - Grandview Ratings and Reviews
My group and really enjoyed our luncheon at Cap City diner and everyone enjoyed their food. Our server was great. She provided a list of vegetarian options to the group when requested, took a picture of the group and was very friendly. The only reason I did not give this visit 5 stars is because she brought our bills to the table before everyone had finished eating, so some of us felt that we were being rushed out of the restaurant. All in all, I will visit Cap City Diner again.
Cap City Grandview is and has always been a great place to enjoy good food with friends in a casual dining atmosphere. Our experience, this time, was just like previous ones... consistently-good service of unique twists on comfort food in a comfortable atmosphere. Is and likely always will be one of my favorites.
They did a great job in having our table ready and were willing to seat us even though most of our party did not arrive for another half hour! The salmon is the best in Columbus! Everyone loved their food. Unfortunately they get one ding for not great service, but the girl we had was working a double shift, so I'm certain she was tired! We had a lot of trouble getting water refills. The food is always outstanding. Noise level very bad though. Not a great place if you want to talk across the table. It requires raised voices to be heard.
We had the reservation for 7pm and the staff made every attempt to honor that time. They were in a bind because a large scheduled party did not leave at the expected time. The staff were on top of the issue and even though there were patrons who did not appreciate the situation, the staff never wavered. We got our table at 7:20. Hats off to the entire crew on shift. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this restaurant.
Started off our date night with dinner and dessert and couldn't have been more pleased with the results. the 24k Carrot Cake is beyond description. I think the 24k stands for 24,000 calories; but I will have it again! The signature meatloaf is simply perfect. The Romano Crusted Fried Chicken with angel hair pasta was outrageously good. Service was top notch too. We will be back soon.
Tess was a terrific server! Prompt and cordial. The food was very good - the ponzu salmon never disappoints. The kids got so filled up on their chocolate shakes that we did not get dessert this time so I missed the bread pudding. Next time.... We also appreciate that CM restaurants are allergy friendly with well established protocols! Thanks!
Cap City was lovely for our 10 year anniversary. We always go back because it was our first date and where he proposed. I have a heart condition that requires a low sodium diet and the chef accommodated me wonderfully. It was a bit loud for my preference but we were able to hold a conversation.
Asked for a box to take my second porkchop and half my sides home. The waiter nicely boxed it up. I was SO DISAPPOINTED when I got home and found that my porkchop was in two pieces and the spinach and mashed potatos were all mixed together with the cider poured into a brown paper box. What a MESS. Instead of bragging to my friends about it, they heard me whine the rest of the day. I won't go back to that location!
Everyone in our party commented to me about what a perfect restaurant for our group, seating at a large round table, in a corner, wonderful and polite and friendly waiter, great menu choices, awesome food, great drink options. Everyone wants to return, and choose different menu meals next time. Thank you for making our time together enjoyable.
As always Cap City had great food, good prices, excellent service. I highly recommend the Blackened Salmon Salad and the Crusted Chicken Ramano. Only downside this time was there Creme Brulee is so good they ran out before we ordered our desert. Just gives us a good excuse to go back soon.
