We made a reservation for Christmas dinner and were turned away by the wait staff and cook due to them not being able to accommodate. Luckily the hotel manager found us a reservation elsewhere.
I have to tell you, it was outstanding, the company the food and the hotel. Way over the top.
Love the fireplace, and the warm comfortable feel of the whole establishment. Just like being at home.
Thank you so so much.
Good service and food and if I am staying at the hotel I will for sure eat there again.
We went for Mother's Day brunch. Everyone greatly enjoyed the food and the service from everyone except our server. She neglected our table and even after making a comment to management she failed to come back to take our payment.
It was Mother's Day and my graduation from my Masters program, and it was one of the only places in town taking reservations. The food was okay, although none of us tried the buffet. The staff was really friendly and nice, and it was quiet enough for a Sunday morning brunch with family. My parents really liked it, so that's a plus.
It wasn't immediately obvious where we were supposed to check in for our reservation. I ended up approaching a bartender who acted like she was surprised I was trying to get help with seating. No other employees were in the immediate area for a minute while my party & I stood there wondering if we'd made the right choice for dinner. Fortunately, a server appeared and escorted us to a table. Things got better from there. Jeremy was awesome in the service department - friendly & attentive. Upon his recommendation, we tried the pork belly appetizer and it was delicious (despite the fact that the name harkens something completely different in my mind). I'm not a beer drinker, but my husband, aunt, and uncle partook of the local beer sampler Jeremy brought out - very good I'm told! The rest of the food was good, and by the time we left, I could see myself returning on another occasion.
The food was good but not great. The service was good… People are nice. They said there was going to be lamb at this buffet and there was not. It was roast beef. The waffle maker was broken while we were there and they were trying to fix it. The selection wasn't extraordinary but it was OK. The people were very nice and our server was great. For $35 I don't Think I would recommend for an Easter brunch. I don't think it was worth $35. Simply because of the mistakes that were happening while we were there and not a clear menu based on what I called for on the phone prior to the meal.
This is a challenging review because I want to make sure I clearly explain the positives and not just the few downers. The staff was beyond professional, friendly, and very responsive, I give them all an A+++. The food was good and enjoyable. All in all if I was having a common Sunday brunch or business lunch/breakfast this experience would rate excellent. With the above in mind I must say I was lead to believe and expected "An Easter Brunch Experience" and this fell quite short. The brunch was held in the general breakfast/lunch hotel attached eating / sitting area with the food placed on temporary tables along a hall way leading to the restrooms. This didn't feel right and no matter how hard I tried to overlook it, I could not. Perhaps the nail in the coffin was the Bill for a party of 4 that included a mandatory large party 20% service charge. Being a hotel I guess they are used to parties of 1 or 2 and 4 people had to create quite a stir. Having many years ago myself waited tables, sadly the fantastic efforts of the staff would have brought them a slightly larger than 20% tip if they had not been so ridiculous about the "Four Person Large Party" fee.
O.K. Experience, but I would not do this again.
You have to try this new restaurant. I know it's in a hotel, but give it a shot. One of the best burgers I've had around Boulder.
They have totally redone this space. It is beautiful with a large fireplace that will be great for snowy days and nights. The food was great and the service extraordinary. The lobby space and the restaurant are a shared space so you can be alone together while you have a meal or work on a project while you have a drink.
We were there for Christmas Dinner, so the menu was fixed. The food was very good, the service was terrific, and the value was outstanding. We were staying at the Marriott, but also had family members with us who were not staying there. We were seated in a cozy, private booth, which gave it the feel of a private family meal.
We also visited the bar on a couple of evenings, and the service was great, as were the local craft cocktails.
This could be a worthy dining experience with more supervision of the food preparation and the wait staff. Food appeared as if it had been under a heat lamp. The modern décor and ambiance is wonderful .
Disappointed that they used the bar area instead of the restaurant. It was all high tables which were not as comfortable. Didn't have a full bar offering even though we were in the bar area. Had to ask for bread and water refill. Staff was standing nearby having a discussion about setting up another table and chairs so it was disrupting during our meal. Food was lukewarm and turkey was overcooked. Unfortunately I would not recommend this restaurant (or bar area) to anyone for Christmas dinner which is supposed to be a special occasion. :(
Good place to eat if you have no other choice. The restaurant was quiet yet the service was slow.
We were pleasantly surprised after reading several reviews. The flavors were distinctive and savory. The chef made a special effort to prepare the tuna for us. For bake potato lovers, three strips of freshly grilled bacon were included in the works. Only oddity was the rice was partially cooked.
It was 6pm on Christmas. The granddaughters wanted Shirley Temples, no one at JW had heard of them. There were 5 entrees, only 2 of which were realistic (no one at our table was interested in Elk Tenderloins or Trout Almondine)and so of course, they ran out of filet mignons. It was a major mistake on our part to pick JW just because they were part of the Marriott and a steak house.
The service and food were mediocre, at best...
