Canyon Creek - Vaughan Ratings and Reviews
Well the streak had to end ... Food was ok at best....
My favorite part of the meal is when they brought our food and when the blood from my steak was pouring onto my plate and i explained thay it was supposed to med not rare ....
The manager came over to explain to me what med is and this is their med literally standing over me for like 5 mins....
Weird... being the father of 5 and quite a good cook ... that this was being explained to me like I'm a 5th grader ....
We wont be back to this location ....
Ordered an appetizer and the Chipotle Steak dinner. The steak was at the table and we hadn't finished our appetizer yet. I ordered my steak medium rare, it was hard to chew, prepared to medium, I've had steak at Canyon Creek before and it was like cutting butter. It was as if the steaks are pre-seared and put back on the grill once ordered. Our dinners must have been prepared right away and had been sitting while we ate our appetizer as everything was cold including the "goat cheese butter" that must have just came from the fridge, it didn't even melt. They did offer us a dessert of coffee on the house but by that point we were too disappointed and after driving there from Georgetown ONT we just wanted to get home. The GM was very nice, he apologized and offered a free appetizer next time but it's a long way to drive to be disappointed.
We had to wait several minutes for the hostess to come to her station so we could be seated. Even though there were very few customers in the restaurant service was slow. We weren't told of any specials or feature menu items. The lemonade wasn't lemonade - it was awful.
The food was good.
We ordered the chicken Cobb salad witch was supposed to come with avocado. There were three of us who ordered the same salad, not one piece of avocado in our salads. We complained to the waiter ( who by the way was great. Val you were fantastic!). Unfortunately, not Val's fault the manager took off $1.00 from our bills for no avocado with our salad. Unfortunate for Canyon Creek, they lost two new customers and one returning customer. No the way to handle the situation by management.
There were three of us, last evening, my wife and one of our daughters. We all ordered different choices from the menu and were all suitably impressed with the service (Laurel), the meals and the atmosphere in the dining room. My wife and daughter used the ladies' washroom and found it to be messy, clean but messy due to a group of teenage girls who were in and out of the washroom all evening. The men's washroom by comparison was immaculate. We must commend our server (Laurel) on her friendliness and professional attitude and knowledge of the menu...very refreshing in one so young. This was our first experience in dining at Canyon Creek in Vaughan...it wont be our last.
We were celebrating our son's graduation, and had a surprisingly excellent meal for a really reasonable price. Service was outstanding. Our waitress, Alla, brought us a dessert on the house with a sparkler without us requesting it. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Looking forward to going back again.
This was my third experience at Canyon Creek; I went last year for my father's 70th, once for a late lunch, and now for my birthday and my parents' anniversary. Every time we go, I feel as though the waitstaff and kitchen pour 100% of their focus on us. Every little detail and concern is taken care of - from the gluten free options to making sure there's no ice in a drink - and want us to have the best possible experience.
The food itself comes out from the kitchen quickly and hot; the flavours are fantastic and delicious. Even if there is a large group, and the food doesn't come all at once, it comes out within a few minutes of the first plates.
The drinks are always yummy and well-priced for the chophouse as it is, and provide an excellent variety of selection.
I will absolutely return to Canyon Creek for the next big event, or just to take friends.
The only good thing about our experience in this restaurant was the service. Waitress was super nice and helpful, and so was the hostess. Other than that, I would not choose this restaurant for lunch again. Food was bad, over cooked, charred meat, no flavor and poor quality all around.
Long time Canyon Creek diners. Prior to the Vaughan location opening, my wife and myself would go to Sherway Gardens location and always had positive reviews for the Sherway location.
Our evening at the Vaughan location was disappointing with the quality of the food, bland tasting meals and over cooked burger. The manager was quick to try to fix and the waitress was as accommodating as possible, but the general theme was along we were not the first to have these issues with the meals we had chosen.
Cozy, warm environment...nice menu, lots of choices...we were there because we wanted a steak (3 of us). Apps (lettuce wrapped chicken and calamari were good...just good) and steaks were very good, especially with parmesan truffle fries! Drink prices are very reasonable...1 bottle higher -end chardonnay and then more of the same and 2 rums for the hubby. Service excellent. Would go again.
