Canyon Creek - Square One Ratings and Reviews
We originally sat in the bar and we were told Katie we would be taking care of us. A few minutes went by and Katie was still behind the bar. Another staff came by to greet us. She told us the drink special but didn't offer to get us a drink. She came back a few minutes later and dropped off water. Again didn't offer to take our drink order. Katie then went to talk to the table beside ours. Didn't come over to us. And went back behind the bar to chat. 10+ minutes have now gone by.
We went back to the host stand and got a table in the dining room. Lauren served us and she was lovely. She checked in on us and was so pleasant. Definitely turned the night around.
It was disappointing as there were only three tables in the bar area and a couple staff members behind the bar chatting. Felt like they really didn't care about the diners experience. I couldn't find an excuse for Katie not greeting us or acknowledging us.
Upon arrival to the front lobby, all 4 hostesses were gathered together chit chatting while I stood there with my husband and 8 month old waiting and waiting, completely ignoring the fact that we are there.
There was no high chair at our table even though I specifically requested it during the reservation process. I inquired to the hostess as to why and her answer to me was "I don't know" which was very unprofessional.
The server (Anthony) assigned to our table (very good server) had heard this on his way to dropping off water at our neighbouring table and rectified the situation by telling me not to worry and that he will grab a high chair for us no problem and apologized for the situation. Thank-you for that.
A meat heavy menu, now with gluten free options marked. (Still, a small reaction at the end of the evening.) A fine place to take the less experimental. The booths in the fireplace room are pleasant, and seemingly, thankfully, so far away in space and time from the mall and box stores across the street.
I live in the area and have visited this location many times. This past week, we had a girls' get-together here (5 guests) and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Right from the moment of arrival, we never felt rushed through any part of our experience. We were seated quickly and drinks and bread (with the delicious honey butter) arrived almost immediately. Our server Michelle was attentive and very charming without being intrusive . The food is consistently great (calamari appetizer, most had steak, one had salmon). Even though the food was fantastic, our server Michelle made the evening even better. Thank you Michelle for making our visit a memorable one! We will definitely be back for our next girls' night!
Was sat at the table for 50 minutes and wasn't even finished or desert and drinks when we were given our bill without asking. Would of been nice to know before hand that we had a time limit for eating and drinking. That said, the food was top class and was worth the $ 170 we spent in 55 minutes. Kind of ruined our night as we had planned on staying longer
We went into Canyon Creek for a quiet evening but we were sat next to a table full of kids out for a birthday, so they were energetic. Furthermore, the temperature inside the restaurant was freezing! This took away from our overall experience. Lastly, the men's room was a little bit unkempt. At least the manager and our server were kind and attentive.
I really like Canyon Creek. It always provides very good value for the money in terms of quality of food, service and ambience. This was my first time at Canyon Creek in Mississauga (Rathburn). We took advantage of it's Valentine's Special Prix Fixe menu. My girlfriend had the salmon. I had the slow roasted prime rib. The portion sizes were perfect for us and of course the quality and presentation were top notch. My only complaint - and most people would not complain about this - is that the service was a bit too fast. I was on a casual date that was going very well and consequently we were talking a lot and not eating very fast. It seemed everything was coming out of the kitchen quite fast - much faster than at the other locations. So if you're bringing a date to this location and you're in no hurry, I recommended mentioning that to the server and ask to slow it down - especially if the restaurant is not that busy. But all in all, a very good experience!
Have been to this restaurant a number of times. Good is always good. Service was great. Although I was put off when they sat us right next to r kitchen and adjacent to a large group with many children that don't know the volume of their own voices. This was disheartening as we were attending dinner for my wife's birthday with myself and my son. It was so loud that my wife had such a headache and was unable to finish her meal. We left promptly and a bit disappointed as it would have been nice to relax in what I would consider to be a more upscale restaurant. It should be stressed by restaurant management that if children are to attend the restaurant, that they behave in a manor appropriate to the setting. Not as if it were McDonalds playland. On the plus side, my wife did enjoy her meal the next day. Will I return, yes. But words will be had if they decide to sit us next to a party of 20+ people with rambunctious children.
It was my birthday ‼️ although we have to pay twice to get a coffee and Baylis and a brownie that should have come before we payed for the meal, I thought that was weird!
It was did finish nicely, but over all I enjoy it I don't go out very much but certainly would go back.
Got our table right away. The server was accommodating and took her time with our table. The food was not exceptional, I would say average, tasted good but was not so amazing that I would have to go back. We had a brownie for dessert and that was very tasty as well as the bread and butter they serve before the meal. Two of us had steak, again it was average, my sister had a salad and it was very skimpy for the cost.
Our evening was extremely pleasant. The service was amazing. Our waitress made a mental note of our conversation that it was our anniversary and surprised us with champagne. It was extremely thoughtful and was very much appreciated. The prix fixe menu is very good value and the good was excellent. Only complaint would be that the background music always a little too loud for conversation. Otherwise I would not hesitate to recommend and I will be back again
I've been a regular customer at Canyon Creek for years and usually enjoy it. But this location always leaves something to be desired. We dined here on New Years Eve and had 2 extremely tough steaks, which were cooked perfectly (medium rare) but the meat quality was just lack lustre. We also had a chicken club sandwich...where again, everything was fine save for the quality of the chicken. It was rubbery and oddly chewy for chicken. The highlights were the lettuce wrap appetizer and the baileys Lindt Creme brûlée - those were both stellar.
