Canyon Creek - Niagara Falls Ratings and Reviews
We always enjoy visiting Canyon Creek at home or when travelling. We had a few issues this visit. One meal wasnt what was ordered and had to be replaced. Unfortunately, the replacement order arrived as the two others at the table had eaten their meal. Also, our bill did not reflect a coupon we presented for a free appetizer. The bill needed to be recalculated and reviewed for accuracy before payment.
We were disappointed with the issues we experienced at Canyon Creek Niagara.
It was our wedding anniversary, without the kids, great tasty food, good service, friendly staff .... we were 15 minutes ahead of our reservation and they said they weren’t able to seat us till our time which was fine so we had a drink in the bar but we weren’t actually taken to our table till 10 mins past our reservation time ... it was fine for us and not complaining but think reservations should take priority especially if you have taken time to make one in advance.
Overall is was lovely and amazing food and the view was of the falls so we were able to see the festival lights...would definitely return on our next visit.
On a side note the garden salad dressing is amazing and delicious it should be made for general sale as well as the honey butter. 😀👌 I would certainly purchase those products off the shelf while shopping.
The waiter was great and very accommodating since I have a sulfur allergy he made sure that there was no wine in my meal. Very thoughtful. Overall the meal was great and a very good value from the special dinner menu that they have. The value meal has good choices to choose from. The blueberry bliss drink that I had was exceptional. Definitely have it again.
Our waiter Chapin was amazing..my steak not so much. I ordered a 7 oz steak fries and there was this huge line of thick grissel straight through the whole thing. I have never had such a time cutting through a piece of meat in my life and I ordered rare. I actually hurt my hand trying to cut it.My girlfriends said to send it back but that would have meant I didn't even get to eat with them and would have had to hold up our whole night. For the price of it i was hugely disappointed. I told our waiter and he apologized but it was the kitchens fault. I even sent half back at the end as i couldnt cut through it. I definitely wont be ordering the steak there again.. :(lo
Attended the first time for New Years. Was only offered the choice between two prefix menus. One option of $90 per person (per two people) for 4 courses, or $65 for one person. The meal was very bland, deserts were overcooked — both times. Service was ok - they were quick to bring out the meals considering it was a holiday. Ambiance was good. In my opinion, the cost was very high considering the overall meal and service received. Would not revisit.
Everything was wonderful- Drinks, Apps, Steaks; however, the desserts were almost embarrassing. So bad I couldn't believe they served them. Disappointing end to an awesome meal. Also, our waiter wouldn't remove empty plates from the table. He would come over and bring more food but not take the finished plates we stacked and pushed to the edge of the table. Weirdest thing.
Loved the atmosphere. Looking out the windows at the winter scene made it feel very cozy. Service was well timed, food could have been a little hotter but was very tasty. We all had the 3 course prime rib dinner which were good portions. Definitely will return to try other menu items.
Food was good, service was good but a bit slow, we were told that they do not have a high chair suitable for the seat they assigned us, instead was given a booster seat which is uncomfortable for a <2 yr old. half-way thru the meal the table next to us was provided with 2 high chairs, they should have just asked us if we can wait to be seated where a high chair can be used to have a more comfortable dining experience
Service was very good, view of the Fall was great, food was average, $20 flat rate parking for a 2-hr dinner was a rip-off. I have been to Canyon Creek in Mississauga many time and always enjoyed the food there. Cant say the same for this Canyon Creek. We ordered the price fixe three course dinner and selected the soup appetizer, prime rib roast entree with baked potato and chocolate fudge brownie with Vanilla ice cream. The soup was delicious, the prime rib was very fatty and messy (and undercooked). The baked potato was cold and undercooked. My dessert, the fudge brownie was more cake-like texture than brownie. Overall not that great a meal. But what a terrific view and our waitress, Sabrina was excellent.
This was an night dinner reservation and we were celebrating an anniversary. Despite the restaurant being 75% empty, they seated a very noisy family right beside us with noisy hyperactive children. We left promptly. Not recommended by me for anything romantic or business oriented based on my experience. $200 meals should be more intimate.
The menu has great range, there is something for everyone's specific palette. Chapin, our server, was awesome, very polite, patient, and created good flow for our dining experience. The ladies at the entrance who greeted us were appropriately dressed and very much fit the requirements for a maitre d'. We have dined here many times over the past eleven years for various reasons/celebrations. If we are traveling to Canada we try to make it a necessary stop. The menu has evolved over the years and we always enjoy the local flare infused into the items. My only negative is it's still pretty pricey.
We had a reservation for 5pm - we were a little late because we went down the wrong hall in the casino (though I called and talked to a host right at 5 and let her know we were on our way, just walking from the far side) - so imagine my disappointment and confusion when we approached the host stand and our table wasn't ready. The girls who remained at the stand didn't provide us any direction on where to wait until our table was ready.
Our server, Dawn, was great, she was knowledgeable and kind. The food was great, though I wanted to substitute my side veggies for a portion of the avocado bacon salad and that wasn't possible. My one suggestion is: in a restaurant that hosts a children's menu, have cups children can handle on their own!!! Don't give my 3 year old a glass tumbler. Get some plastic cups with lids.
