We arrived for a 2:00 Open Table reservation to find out at check in that they stopped serving at 2:00. It was a 30 minute drive up mountain switchbacks to get to the cafe. After talking with a manager we were allowed to order, however, the menu you chose the restaurant from Open Table was no longer available, they changed to a stark lunch with mundane items.
The soup and salad were disappointing as well as the black bean burger. Not with the trek—stay in town.
Best champagne brunch in town ! We live close by and it's our to go place for different family celebrations. Wonderful service and delicious food. Admire dedication of those chefs who have to grill outside in the summer months. Always friendly, helpful and polite. I sure hope the management appreciates this and ensures sun umbrellas, frequent breaks, as well as good pay for the very tough " summer working conditions." It gets so hot in Tucson, still they never complain. We will be back !!!!
Love all that is Loews Ventana, a true one of kind property in Arizona! The food, staff, music and ambiance is incredible whether you are there during the day or night. So much to see and experience that is unlike any where else in the world and THE BEST Sunday brunch in the state of Arizona!
We made a last minute reservation (Friday) then called the morning of to see if we could move our times up which they were able to do with with a smile and can do attitude even though they were packed when we got there. Got lucky that someone left early and there were only two of us. Chef Harvey was working the room and stopped by our table too which was wonderful treat. The service and staff all had smiles and were eager to please in addition to keeping the plates cleared from our table.
Thank you very much, we will be back as well as spread the word!
Sunday Jazz and Barbecue Brunch. Usually 5 star but this past Sunday had a very large private party going on at the same time sharing the brunch
No jazz, long waits in line and running out of food items
Check for private affairs in the future and skip the brunch on those Sundays. Not enjoyable at all
This is what a Sunday Brunch is supposed to be. An opportunity to relax, converse, and eat an expressive choice of good food, prepared well, and while being attended to by friendly staff.
My friend and I visited the resort buffet, after casually searching for a good brunch place in Tucson, for years. I finally decided to search in earnest and all signs pointed to Loews Ventana Canyon Resort as the place to get what we’d been looking for. We sampled everything from the breakfast area to the bbq and everything in between. We were both satisfied that this is now our Sunday Buffet go to.
Yes, it costs more than what’s available elsewhere in Tucson for a brunch buffet style meal. But, at least I know I’m getting all that I want in a brunch.
Very tasty salmon
This was our annual family Christmas brunch at Ventana. Unfortunately we were not able to hear any of the blues music because we were in another room. I love that there are so many options to eat however the person at the omelette station was mediocre however all the other food was great. The only thing I wished was better was the barbecue section, the salmon, ribs and corn bread were very dry. One thing we really enjoy is a hike up to the waterfall on the property after brunch, very beautiful. Our overall experience was good because we were with family and it’s a tradition, however I think the barbecue section isn’t as good as it used to be, not as many options and the food was mediocre. Not sure if because they have to have it inside because it was a bit cold for outside BBQ.
Great Christmas Sunday Brunch - Lots of options: carved lamb, ham, roast beef, chilled shrimp, mussels, sushi, BBQ ribs, pulled pork. Lots of sides: stuffing, roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, artichokes au gratin, salads, charcuterie, cheeses, breads, etc. Desserts: bread pudding, ice cream, fudge, cheese cake, chocolate roulade cake, cookies, etc. All with endless champagne. Our new holiday tradition.
Christmas Buffet. FANTASTIC...
The food was excellent as was the service. The ambiance of the restaurant could have been better, but the place was very busy - we were there 2 days before Christmas.
Very limited menu for lunch had the chicken cob salad chicken was very dry.
Enjoyed special daddy daughter time. We both loved the brunch and the variety available. Never got past the breakfast items, though did enjoy some oysters!
Recently enjoyed brunch with my husband for our 25th wedding anniversary. We usually do a nice dinner out for anniversaries, but decided to change it up. My husband was impressed with the large variety of food items offered. I enjoyed the mimosas! We had a lovely time, and the desert mountain views are simply amazing.
Outstanding brunch and excellent service with live music on patio!
We enjoyed Thanksgiving Day buffet. Overall, it was very good. Although we sat inside, the traditional dishes were served outside, where it was a little cool. Consequently, nothing was piping hot. I'm usually a prime rib fan, and like it appropriately rare, but this looked a little too rare and while it was under a heat lamp I expected it to be too cool for my taste so I passed. I'm not a big turkey fan, but I tried it and it was exceptional, as were the usual accompaniments. I sampled the pulled pork and skillet corn bread. The corn bread is usually great, but both it and the pork suffered the same fate of not being hot enough. Of course Loews can't be faulted for the weather.
inside there were stations for Sushi, seafood, meats and cheeses, salads, breads and desserts. Too much to sample, other than some shrimp cocktail, bread and dessert. We were disappointed in the desserts, which in the past have been exceptional. Perhaps it was our taste buds after all of the other delicious food, but everything seemed to be too sweet. I know desserts are sweet, but some of these were overboard. The cheesecake for example had a crust that actually had a gritty texture that I attributed to sugar crystals. Perhaps it was just me, but that is my impression.
The service was good, although we seemed to get passed off from our original waitress to another but both were attentive and we have no complaints. We had done their buffets before and we will do it again.
Tasty Thanksgiving meal with choices for every palate.
We have been coming to this restaurant for their Sunday brunch for several years, and have never been disappointed. The variety of food and the placement of the various selections makes it very easy for all types of dietary needs and wants. They do a good job of using fresh veggies and spices directly from their garden on their premises. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to impress some 'out of towners' or just want a Sunday break.
Sunday brunch, lots of options. BBQ, bottomless mimosas, huge dessert bar. Enjoyed by the whole family from kids to seniors.
Great Sunday Brunch. We will definitely be doing this again!
Fantastic family atmosphere with teenagers food is amazing bottomless mimosas couldn’t ask for more
We have been here for Sunday brunch on numerous occasions and it never disappoints. So many choices. Such nice Champagne. Ribs, prime rib, fish, turkey, mac t miss spot.
The Loew's Ventana Canyon Brunch is exceptional! We went with two other couples and had wonderful mid day meal! The memossa were excellent and endless!! It's one of our very favorites!
The amazing variety of food coupled with remarkable, friendly service makes this Sunday Brunch the best in the State!!
Danielle is an excellent server and has made our last 2 anniversary brunches very special!
Going to the Blues n Blues B B is always a delight. The food & music is great. Chef Ken and our server Daniell are a delight. Never disappointed. Thank you all for a great time.
Grill station meats/veggies were moved inside...food was cold. No toaster for breads and bagels. Sea food was fresh. Ceviche tasted old. Desserts were just so so. Creme Brulee didnt have a hard crust...cupcake was dry.
Fantastic food and service - great group dining since it's a huge buffet and everyone can pick what they prefer.
We have been going to the Sunday Brunch at Canyon Café for about eight years now and they never disappoint!!! Food is always consistently good.
The Sunday Buffett was quite good. My only suggestion is to ask the servers to explain where the different food presentations were located. We would have missed the breakfast line if we hadn't asked a customer.
Best Sunday I’ve had in awhile. I love this place!!
Due to the heavy rain everything had to be moved indoors … the
food was still delicious it just made the location of the "heartier" food
a longer distance to walk & sort of awkward in that it was like you were
exiting. Overall, it still was a good time had by all.
Delicious food! Great service! Beautiful views! Always a good idea!
We simply love the Ventana Canyon Sunday Blues & Brews Brunch! It’s a great atmosphere and the food is delicious. It’s our favorite special occasion brunch spot.
We and our friends have been going there for years. Great Sunday buffet. Danielle and all the staff are fantastic. Chef Ken does a great job having such good food. Can only say great things about this place.
Great Music and the waitresses were awesome, very helpful. Food was delicious and great presentation. Beer was great choices
I reserved a table for 4 for my birthday. We have a 6 year old girl and a baby. We were guided to a quiet and spacious area. Very considerate! The service was very prompt and friendly. We enjoyed the food, especially the deserts. Fabulous views. My daughter enjoyed feeding the fish after lunch. For her, the pond is a plus!
The Blues, Brews & BBQ Sunday brunch has amazing delicious food & desserts with a huge variety and selection. We try to go once a year for birthday celebration. Worth the drive and price for all of the available options you get. Mimosas and crafted beers are also included in this brunch and we enjoy them a lot! The staff is very attentive & awesome. Always checking in on you and making sure your beverages are tipped off and empty plates taken away expeditiously. Presentation of food is gorgeous!! Highly recommend this Sunday brunch!!
Wonderful brunch food options and attentive staff. Best of all, it is quiet enough that you can hold a conversation without straining to hear.
We stayed at the resort & ate a breakfast, a lunch & a brunch in this restaurant. All were great, the brunch was outstanding! Would recommend it with no reservations & will be back next time I am in town.
Our table of 12 was celebrating five birthdays at the Blues, Brews & BBQ Sunday Brunch, and it was fantastic. Choices, presentation and quality of foods were all great. The BBQ going on outside was excellent, delicious grilled vegetables and everything from salmon to prime rib. Tasty desserts and the perfect mimosas and Dragoon (best Tucson brewery) beers were flowing. The birthday people each received a decadent chocolate cupcake with Happy Birthday beautifully written on the plate in chocolate. Everyone enjoyed the fun and casual experience and our wait staff were also super attentive. The Ventana resort and grounds are 5-star, a must visit, and the Sunday brunch should not be missed.
