Best food! Great atmosphere! Fantastic staff!! Love cantinetta to celebrate or enjoy a lovely dinner. Always a great menu. Desserts , appetizers and drinks are wonderful. Short menu equals quality delicious foods!!!
Our evening began a bit rocky. I made a reservati
Always love coming here. Food is always fresh and fantastic. I will be back!
Great server and food. Welcomed our friends to their new neighborhood with a thoughtful gift.
The food was good, but it wasn't excellent. For example the pea vines were very tough and hard to chew. Everything is a la carte, and portions are very small for the price. Won't go there again.
Best place best service nicest people great food . Highly recommend!!!
Cantinetta is our favorite secret spot in Wallingford! So glad to celebrate our 20th Anniversary here. Everything on the menu is amazing and always fresh. The Pappardelle alla Bolognese is to die for.
A wonderful neighborhood restaurant well worth taking a trip to experience.
So delicious. The service was great -- we got helpful tips on what to order without any pushiness, and they struck the right balance of attentiveness in that our glasses were never empty but we never felt interrupted. The gnocchi is incredible.
Had an amazing night celebrating our anniversary. Our waiter (Ryan) was thoughtful, gave great suggestions (you could tell he really knew the entire menu), and he gave us plenty of space to enjoy our meals, only checking in on us in between courses! The Zeppole for dessert is sooooo good, you will regret not ordering it!!!
Have not been to Cantinetta for a few years, but decided to go back for a nice evening of dining. Same comfortable environment and thought all the people working the main dining room were friendly and efficient. I remember the food, especially the pasta to be over the top. On this visit, I must admit that the food was very mediocre, my salad was lots of greens with very little flavor and the sauce on my pasta was very watery. The other diners at our table felt the same way, meals ok, but not superb!! Maybe with all the excellent Italian restaurants in Seattle, we’ve been spoiled!
The food and service was outstanding. For a Tuesday night it was very busy. The weather was nice so we ate outside.
We ordered the Copper River Salmon as our entree. For the price paid, the portion served was the tail end of the fish and ridiculously small.
Everything was great - only negative they should have mentioned that they put a 20% tip on the bill
Automatically- I almost doubled tipped.
An elegant dining experience. Great food, great service and and a very goo atmosphere.
A great neighborhood gem with legit homemade pasta.
I have never had a bad experience at Cantinetta. The service has always been excellent and the food is delicious. This is the perfect date night place too.
Lovely meal, great servers, nice ambience. Only disappointed that we requested an outdoor table in our reservation, but they were going to make us wait 40 minutes to sit outside, so we sat inside where it was very hot.
As always, Cantinetta lives up to my expectation! I wrote a review a couple of months ago when we ate there and of course, raved about the exceptional service and outstanding food. Nothing has changed. It's still outstanding. Love the waiter--he's so knowledgeable and attentive. I had the Pics pasta dish with rabbit rags and it was delicious! My collegue had the Pappardelle all Bolognese, which never disappoints. The Ricotta Ravioli was also tempting as was the Cavatelli with fennel sausage and escarole. I hope to try these on our next visit. Insalata mista is never over dressed and always fresh and the house red wine was a lovely compliment. Lastly owe enjoyed the special strawberry, rhubarb bread pudding with I think, lemon gelato. Delicious!! Thank you again for another amazing meal!!
Traveling from Birmingham,AL. Had a great experiance! The food and service was on point. They were there when they needed to be without be bothersome. Very professional and fun staff. They were excited about their food which is sadly rare nowadays. Will be back next time I’m in town!
The food was very good and the service was excellent. It is a nice little neighborhood restaurant with emphasis on Tuscan food. We were there on a Sunday evening and it was quiet, but friends have told us it can be very noisy when the restaurant is busy. It is a bit pricey for Italian food which is what kept us from giving it the fifth star.
Good meal with adequate service. Portions are small. Lots of cobwebs between the wall and the bench seat near the window creeped me out.
Cantinetta, most likely because it is essentially a restaurant chain, prices itself with restaurants like Eve Fremont, How To Cook A Wolf, The Whale Wins and other foodie establishments but falls far short of their fine cuisine.
The yawn enducing menu fare is subpar and uninspired: bland risotto, undersized and pedestrian Salmon identified as Wild Copper river, but clearly anemic if so, a simple misto salad of tired greens and a lifeless vinagrette.
One can do so much better elsewhere.
The food here is good and the waitstaff is very friendly and helpful. However, it was hard for the four of us to hear our conversations. Maybe some acoustical ceiling tiles or some other form of sound absorption would be helpful?
Love it, have been three times and continue to love it
I loved the ambiance and the food was super tasty - portions were quite small; the heirloom tomato salad had a troublingly small amount of actual tomatoes. But it was all great!
Had a wonderful dinner celebrating my birthday with a small group of family & friends. The restaurant called to confirm our reservation ahead of time and made sure our group had a seat by the windows we requested. The ambiance was lovely, the wait staff was friendly, fun, and attentive with great suggestions, and the food was absolutely delicious! I’m so glad that we came to Cantinetta, we will definitely come back again.
Food is phenomenal
Fantastic neighborhood restaurant. Food Nd service great! Love coming here!
This is a lovely neighborhood spot. We got here early, before 6pm and got a nice corner table for ourselves. The service is very attentive and professional. We liked very much that they gave us fresh plates with every course. There are 4 main menu categories: appetizers, salads, pasta and main. We ordered and shared an item from each. The pancetta wrapped dates were EXCELLENT... soft, crispy, salty, sweet and smoky. We had the mixed green salad which was generous and very lightly, but expertly dressed. The focaccia was more dense and toothsome than we are accustomed, yet we liked it with the olive oil very much. We got their seasonal pasta with pea vines and peas, and finished our meal with the hanger steak, medium rare. Everything was perfectly executed, perfectly seasoned and the setting was perfect. Thank you.
Cantinetta is always fun and cheery. The ambiance and service are great. The food was good. The portions for sharing aren't big enough, but overall it's a great neighborhood place that you can always count on.
Delicious Italian cuisine, to die for house-made pasta. Highly recommend.
Cantinetta never disappoints! The food and service is always fabulous. Thank you!
In all seriousness the food was good, but expect small sized portions. For instance there were only 4 small prosciutto wrapped dates, with minimal sauce, on a huge bed of lettuce? The pasta dish was just a small hump in the middle of a big plate.
This was my second visit and frankly the noise level was intolerable this time. Management needs to understand that with all the high hard surfaces in the restaurant there needs to be table cloths, and sundry other sound absorbing materials to soak up a lot of the noise/sound. We literally had to near yell and lean in in order to carry on a conversation.
This choice of Cantinetta was mine, and it was our anniversary, and so very disappointed in the poor ambiance.
Everything was cooked to perfection! The steamed clams with sausage were divine, even the simple lettuce salad tasted like they had just been picked and hen lightly tossed with a very good olive oil. Excellent pea vine salad with radishes and spring peas - enjoyed each bite. The pasta course and risotto with crab was enjoyed by the rest of my party, I had the hangar steak and it was cooked perfectly medium rare and served with fresh asparagus. Poached prawns were flavorful and served with a very nice sauce that complimented them.
Our waitress was excellent, the entree was delicious but portions were on the small side considering the cost. Everything tasted extremely fresh!
In contrast to a lot of Seattle dining experiences, at least in most but the long-established, Cantinetta is exemplary of the rare, quiet, easy-parking, residential neighborhood treat. Not that it isn't popular, and well deservingly so. While the setting is neighborhood-urban, the ambiance is relaxed and simple but comfortable, especially early on a late spring/summer evening when the outside tables are available. The menu is somewhat constrained, but if that's a disadvantage it is more than made up by the exquisite quality, detail and often uniqueness of each item, and that absolutely includes the definitively unique cocktails! In our visit, two of the more outstanding dishes were the grape soup and morel/fava bean/asparagus ricotta ravioli, which were the price of the dinner alone!
Excellent as always.
The noise was so loud that I could not hear the person across from me. The sauces for the pasta were flat. They had only two offerings for the secondi: halibut and flat iron steak. The food was not good Italian food of the Northern tradition. Would not return.
