Food used to great here when we had visited about 6 months ago and is mediocre now. Restaurant had several open tables which is probably reflective of mediocre food.
Most notable difference is poor service. Drinks were not filled in a timely manner and server never bothered to ask how the food tasted. The manager did do the rounds thanking people for visiting. Hopefully they will address the food quality and service to match when they were newly open.
The food was simply put: bad. Beans were cold, chicken on enchilada was chunky and tasteless. Salsa was not spicy at all and chips were greasy. Was greatly disappointed. I’d give it one star but my drink was good. You can’t really screw up tequila, though.
Cantina Laredo is my favorite Tex Mex place in North Texas. It's been a while since we've eaten there and we'll definitely be back soon. We were promptly seated and our server, Val was right there to take our drink order.
There's something for everyone on the menu. Love the chips and salsa. I generally eat the Tacos al Carbon but decided to venture out of my comfort zone and ordered the Tacos Barbacoa sans Cilantro (which I hate). This was a home run. The corn tortillas were perfect and the tacos were fantastic. Tender beef with just the right "kick." Rice and beans were excellent as well.
The Casa Margarita was quite nice also.
Service was horrible
Server didn’t smile and suggest items to us. She seemed like we were an inconvenience.
Steak was extremely fatty, and not cooked to the temperature I requested
The biggest problem we had was seating. We specifically asked for a quiet place so we could enjoy a reunion with friends since we were both from out of town. They placed us perfectly and within 5 minutes they began moving tables right next to our booth and a party of 25 was seated. We asked to be moved and were just moved a couple of booths away. We couldn’t believe it! We hurriedly ate and went somewhere else to visit.
Food is as always is outstanding. The new decor is awesome. My wife and I love the new vibe.
The staff was friendly and accommodating and everyone loved their meal! We enjoyed our experience and will definitely be back!
Well we were invited back by Jesse because of a bad experience the last time we were there and we're told it would be taken care of the service was slow like 10 min for someone to ask for the drinks and no one took care of the bill after several attempts to get a manager to the table so I could tell them the situation! It was another failed attempt at good service there! The food is consistently good to great! But ........
Overall just okay. The service was not as good as it used to be and the food took a long time.
They removed our two favorite things from the menu (warm salsa and chipotle fajitas) and, sadly, we won’t be back.
Second time dining @ Cantina Laredo. Really good experience, excellent service and friendly staff.
Rick, the manager, had everything flowing great as usual. They have updated the inside of the restaurant, looks awesome, great ambiance.
Dinner, Service, Atmosphere. Everything was awesome! Had dinner with some friends and we were there for several hours talking and our server was so patient and nice and never made us feel rushed. We really appreciated that! Great Place!
We were seated at the table for about 10 minutes before anybody came by to take a drink order or bring chips and salsa. Once we ordered our drinks, it took another 15 to get them. By that time they were luke warm. The food was average when it arrived. Very disappointing.
Nice. It was great.
Cantina Laredo is one of our regular restaurants. This dinner was a family dinner with 4 children under the age of 7. Our server was great, food excellent, and margaritas cold and tasty.
New Year dinner
Went there on Christmas Eve and surprisingly the restaurant was only 50% occupied. Still, waited 15 minutes for waitress to show up to take drink orders. Service was poor throughout the rest of the meal. I ordered a second margarita right before the food showed up.....still waiting for it.
Finally, waited another 15 minutes for to go boxes and the check - again! It was not busy!
To be honest, the food was very good. But there are a lot of options in Frisco/Plano, and I doubt I'll go back.
Service was SLOW. Difficult to get drinks from the bar & even more difficult to get the waiter to refill water. Presentation of food was the worst I've ever seen.
The waiter David was excellent, Queso was good, wife loved the chicken tacos, my bacon wrapped shrimp was a little over grilled. Overall good
We always enjoy Cantina Laredo! Great food and great margaritas. Cabo Flip is fantastic.
Met friends for dinner. Have been here several times before and this was as good as always. Excellent food and service.
Annual gathering with my best friends, service was great, food great & we were able to talk without yelling!
The food is excellent!
Had not been her for many years due to the distance and price. Service was good but food was overpriced and rather boring. My wife had to dump an entire cup of hot sauce into the tortilla soup just to give it any flavor. Really not much ambiance as well - unless you count drunk friends yelling across the table to each other during normal conversation.
Always a great experience. Steak is amazing.
We are new to the area and wanted Mexican food. We were in for a GREAT SURPRISE of how tasty Cantina Laredo's food was. Had it delivered two nights earlier and it was just as tasty and warm dining in as well as getting it delivered for room service. They are remodeling their restaurant at this time....can't wait to go back once the remodel is completed. They are still open during their remodel.
We have been here nearly 20 times, very disappointing this visit. Light burnt out over our booth, absolutely inattentive and terrible service - issues with 2 of 3 courses and 25 minutes to get a margarita. It wasn’t because it was busy...The place was nearly empty, at one point 7 servers sitting at adjacent tables socializing because there were so few customers. Super disappointing experience.
Went here for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner and it was fantastic. Server was great and knowledgeable about the menu. A manager asked us how our night was going and was very nice. We were treated very well!
Great staff good quality of food enjoyed very much.
Food was excellent, service wasn't so great. Server paid very little attention to us until he (finally) brought the check. Now he wants to be friendly when it's tip time. Where were you when we were out of salsa, chips, and water while we waited and waited for our food?
Excellent Tex-mex in the Legacy/121 area. Food, service and atmosphere are always very good...
Very slow service on a Sunday night and there were very few patrons. The server did not know what beers they had on tap and when I ordered a draft beer he brought me a bottle. He was very young and seemed to be his first day serving but he didn't know the difference between a draft and a bottle? Everything was slow and the food was underwhelming. Cantina Laredo in Scottsdale, AZ used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Can't say that about the Frisco location. Won't be back.
We always enjoy Cantina Laredo! Great food and drinks, and love being able to make a reservation there.
Food was good but delivered within 5 min of ordering which makes me think it is all just sitting under a warming light
The fajitas for two were a great value and tasted great. I thought $10 for a mojito was too much.
