Cantina Laredo - Clayton
The meat used for the carne Assad was a bit tough and more fate than I I usually get when I order this item.
Great happy hour specials!
Long delay getting seated for lunch even though place was 1/2 empty. Long wait for waitress to notice the table. Not attentive.
Took forever to get seated and it took forever to get order taken. Bacon on shrimp was burnt. Steak quesadilla was cold. Salmon too small and not enough rice. Bowl too big for salmon dish. Silverware was dirty. Not sure which waitress was ours. Had to ask for bill. I felt bad not leaving a tip but none was deserved and I'm a big tipper. This was my first time ever not giving a tip. I won't be back. My co-worker posted her salmon dish on her blog and complained. They did bring another peice with hot green sause on it when she requested it not be added on the first one so she couldn't eat it.
Really loved that the noise level was low. And the food was delicious as always. Wish the fireplace would have been working - but that’s ok!
Great atmosphere. Great go to for that upper scale Mexican dining experience in St. Louis! I will definitely be returning to sit out on their patio when the weather warms up! I would recommend for sure!
The service was so slow and the foos was just ok. Don’t waste the extra money to go here.
The food was terrible. It just didn’t taste good. Cheese whiz on an Enchilada is not for me. Perhaps others like it. First negative review of my life. Super nice people work there and it’s a nice looking restaurant. Would have forgotten about it but you asked.
Excellent food and service, but noise level is very high. Loud music, many people trying to talk over the music. Probably won't go back due to noise, but food and service were very good.
We visited during the Clayton Restaurant Week. The food the margaritas and the service were amazing! Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!
Poor service and average food.
Restaurant was slow and food took to long. Our server took forever and we have to been looking for him.
Cafe Laredo has been a New Year's Eve dining spot for the past four years because it is close to home and consistently delicious. Reservations are honored and they offer a special menu for the New Year's celebration. Regular menu items are always very good and the service is also excellent.
Great food. Great service. Guacamole at the table was awesome.
We had a great meal at this upscale Mexican place. Our server was friendly and the food very tasty. We will definitely be back!
Great weekend brunch. The omelets are especially good and all brunch entrees come with your voice of Bloody Mary or Mimosa.
This place is inconsistent. Some times it’s great. Sometimes it is noticeably poor. Unfortunately, this was one of those times.
The service was disappointingly sub par. Ordered a Shirley Temple for my boy and it never came. I had to go to the bar to get it, and the server didn’t even notice.
My daughter’s tortilla came out undercooked. It was actually doughy. I pointed it out to our server and it took way too long to get new tortillas (in a Mexican Restaurant). By the time they came out, her food was cold and everyone had pretty much finished their dinner.
We were underwhelmed about our very first trip here, but actually gave them a second chance and had been pleased up til now. I had even rented out a room for a celebration/party once and was pleased that time.
Maybe we will give them another shot, but if this had been our first experience, we would likely not come back.
Food was cold and tasteless. Slid very far in 1 year.
Great place and . We celebrated a wonderful birthday and had great service
Came here because we had a great experience at the cantina Laredo in Destin, Florida.
The table we were seated at was in a glass corner of the restaurant, quite a distance from the kitchen.
this may explain why everything we got was at, best just, warm; the chips were downright cold.
I think I would have liked the tamales had they been hot!
The guac from the kitchen was nothing special, save your money
The chili lime cucumber margarita was good, spicy kick to it... I would have added a bit of cayenne to the salt rim tho
Waitress was sweet and efficient
Presentation was beautiful
just Didn't feel as authentic as our previous experience, but if you have nothing to compare it to, get a table closer to the action and hopefully you get a 🔥 meal!
Anne get reservations! We got there at 5:15, but wait list was out the door by 6! Open table super easy to use
Service was terrible and the food was not good either. Wasn’t busy but took over an hour to get soup and an appetizer.
We had the last reservation available, and from the moment we arrived until we left the customer service was cold and non-existent. We waited 15 minutes once we were sat until our waiter came. In that span we decided to take it upon ourselves to get drinks at the bar thinking it would be quicker. Continued to wait another 10 minutes for 2 drinks from a bartender who acted like we were inconveniencing her. Once back at the table our elusive waiter took our order minutes before the kitchen closed. Our table side guacamole server was sick and made the guacamole way too spicy. Once our entrees arrived, we were finally able to get a new round of drinks. Every one of our dishes was bland and had way too much heat. I really expected more out of such a reputable restaurant. Seemed like every staff member we encountered was annoyed that we were there an hour before close. Unfriendly, unflattering and overall a waste of money and time. What a shame
Food was very good. But it is quite expensive. Also, some of the menu items you have to assemble yourself (like tacos and burritos) versus it being done before being brought to your table. For the price, all of the food should come assembled.
Very loud! Can’t hear the waiter or have a conversation with friends at our table. Too dark to even read the menu. Value is not good compared to other restaurants offering same type of cuisine. Food is just average.
Only problem, although it did gross me out, was our waitress delivered food to next table and she had lots of long thick hair and it was resting on the tray and some of the food. She should tie back and up so that it does not hand down on serving tray when she carries it. We were fortunate that a cook delivered our food. Thank goodness.
Our first experience at this restaurant was wonderful but this one had a bit to be desired. The person who made our guacamole tableside decided it was appropriate to talk about the Supreme Court nomination and another person coming forward about being sexually abused. That was inappropriate! Our order came out wrong and our guest food was cold. The manager tried to rectify the situation by making us a to-go order but then we were actually charged for the inaccurate order which was more expensive than what I actually ordered. Disappointing....
Food was great tasting and fresh!! Service was prompt and friendly.
My husband and I were impressed with the food, it was very good! The service was so bad. Our server was short and impatient from the time we sat down until we left. She spoke so fast we could hardly understand her and when we did not answer her queries she dashed off! This scenario happened each time she came to the table. We were really put off by the lack of time and effort she put forth to make the meal experience enjoyable.
Very nice setting. The food got to us super quickly. The food was affordable and unlike things we’ve had in the past. Loved the desert!
Fun restaurant but noisy. Entrees were excellent but guacamole was not and it’s expensive since you have to tip for table side preparation. Never doing that again. Drinks were excellent. Service slow since place was busy. Servers all very friendly and scrambling to keep up.
Food is always consistent and service is great! Love the enchiladas and tapas. Mexican Apple Pie is a delicious treat
We were seated quickly because we had an Opentable reservation. They had covered the patio walls because someone had said they were cold. But we were seated on the patio anyway, at our request. After sitting and looking at the menu for about 15 minutes or so we left. No server was nearby, no water arrived and no one came to wait on us or even advise us it would be a few minutes.
By the way, we sat outside at another restaurant and it was beautiful!
Ask for Ivan as server
If he’s not there, request Felicia
Both are very friendly
First time dining here! It was absolutely wonderful!!
Consistently delicious, the food, drinks, and wine are fresh and tasty. The servers are hard working and often a little too busy. The atmosphere is a little noisy but some areas in the restaurant offer more quiet space. You can make a reservation and the times are honored. It is always a treat to dine at Cantina Laredo
Used to go hear fairly regular, unfortunately the past couple of times we’ve been the food has not been nearly as good. IDK if they changed chefs or management or what, but we will not be back. Food was very average and bland. Service was not good either and it wasn’t even busy.
good food and atmosphere not crowded space. good for talking
The food was great! Our server was nice! The guy who made our table side guac however was very rude and abrupt. He should not be interacting with customers. He had a horrible attitude from the start for some reason and zero manners or friendliness.
Great and quick service and food!
