St Patrick’s Day weekend in Little Italy. It was great fun. Good awesome.
Lovely old-fashioned North End restaurant. People were warm and welcoming. Quiet enough for conversation but not uncomfortably quiet. Waiter was exceptionally polite and accommodating. Menu was extensive and included many traditional Italian-American dishes. Food was fine and we left comfortably full. Not an exciting restaurant, but a very satisfying one.
WE have been here several times and it never disappoints. In a neighborhood known for excellent italian restaurants (and we've been to almost all of them) it's our favourite.
Great food and great service! Very enjoyable!
Cozy and welcoming is how I would describe it. Our waitress was very pleasant and most accommodating to one of our group who has dairy allergies. The food was delicious. We would recommend the mussels in wine sauce and the arancini. It was a very pleasant evening
My friends and I visiting from NY were looking for a great Italian meal and we found it! The staff was friendly, the seating comfortable, and the food delicious. We had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend it.
It’s amazing! The owner and waitress were so helpful and the food was amazing. It’s been open since 1931 and should stay open forever. Such a north end gem, and easy to get a reservation.
The food is fresh and the waitstaff is terrific. Classic Italian fun!
The best Italian food in the North End! The service from the bartender to the host, General Manager, and our waitress was 5 star!
Pizza was great, so was the tortellini, thought looks bad
The service was outstanding! It started with Sam as our bartender as we waited for our table. Very helpful and friendly. Then we got to our table and Marco was our waiter. He was excellent. My wife had the salmon with linguini. Very good! I had the chicken saltombocca, the best I have ever had. The pasta bombolottis outstanding. We had the bombolotti. Fantastic pasta, great atmosphere and very capable and friendly service. I highly recommend Cantina Italiana.
Perfect dinner with family and kid friendly. The food was very good and I would definitely go back.
My girlfriend and I went to Cantina Italiana for a North End Valentine's Day experience. We had no complaints about the place as it had delicious food and excellent wine options. Definitely recommend.
It is a great place with my favorite chicken park and my vegetarian wife loves the bake gnocchi.
I went here on valentine's day with my girlfriend. The service was great, the waiter i had was always asking if we needed anything else. The food was excellent, and the prices were a great deal for the quality of the food.
Trip to Boston’s Little Italy and we chose the Best Restaurant. Amazing in all aspects.
Excellent food, excellent service, very friendly and attentive. Couldn’t ask for better
Had a cozy neighborhood feel. The food quality did not match the price despite the large portions.
Service was perfect, from the time we step foot inside, we were greeted with warmth! It was a nice cozy atmosphere! Can’t wait to go again!
Super food and service. Homemade pasta, veal and chicken parmigianan. Bread was also homemade. Service was the best in many restaurants I have been in.
Love this place!!! Well worth the walk from Copley to the North End. Food is great. Service is awesome.. The price is right
Marco and staff were Great
Our Uber driver recommended this place and we're so happy we dined here. Outstanding meal and service. We'll definitely be back.
Great place to eat dinner was fantastic!
Lovely neighborhood restaurant. Casual environment. Great food. Like going to an old friend's house for a great dinner.
This was a great place to dine in the North End! My friends an I were greeted as we walked in and were immediately seated due to our reservation. The service was incredible and the food even better! Nothing better than homemade pasta with homemade sausage in a garlic/Parmesan sauce!
Will definitely return for another visit when I come to Boston!
We have been to Cantina Italiana several times. Food has improved- we almost didn't go back after our last visit in the summer. But the wait staff is so friendly, the family-friendly atmosphere so enjoyable, we were happy to return on New Year's Eve. Glad we did!
Good food and the valet service is a plus, especially on cold nights
Made a reservation. Once we checked in, were seated immediately. Service was prompt and food was tasty.
We chose this restaurant based on the largely positive reviews. Arrived about 20 minutes before our scheduled reservation time and were promptly greeted and seated. Our server was very friendly and meals were quickly prepared with a very short wait. Food was average at best. I ordered a veal dish which had little flavor & my wife had a similar dish made with chicken. No sides accompanied our meals so I asked for a half order of pasta. A small bowl with marinara cost $7. Four small slices of cold bread came with some plain olive oil. No more was offered but was provided when we asked for it. I wouldn't return or recommend based on this experience.
Traditional, classic Italian restaurant in the North End. Best lasagna I’ve ever eaten!
Bread was bland, very surprised. Fish of the sea was lacking enough seafood.
Pasta was outstanding as was the mushroom appetizer. Bruzetta very good but just one slice of bread. Ordered Johnny walker got jack daniels. Ordered kettle one got grey goose. Ordered pasta side dish which never appeared.
Marco the waiter and Host were very sociable and outstanding. Some mixups on orders.
5 star already recommending to everyone and will be back.
I had always written this off as a tourist destination and avoided it without much thought. Well, what a mistake I made in doing so. The food, service and ambiance are fantastic.
I will certainly return again for another satisfyingly delicious meal.
We went there three years ago at Christmas. It was good then and was good now for this Christmas. Not as much sea food on the menu as we would have liked.
Went to Cantina Italiana for dinner Christmas Eve. Very poor service, waited a long time to have orders taken and to have food served.
Food quality fair at best compared to other North End restaurants.
Party of 4 was squeezed into both better sized for two people. Seats were very uncomfortable.
The one good thing was the fine service in the bar area while we waited for seats!
Perhaps service and food quality was off due to busy Xmas Eve,
but my experience was not at the high Open Table rating this restaurant has.
Christmas Eve dinner with our 2 kids.
Good, simple Italian. Moderately priced, good service, easy to get a table last minute with reservation but busy on arrival.
Our family enjoyed an impromptu night in town and were pleased to get a reservation with immediate seating on a Thursday (game) night. The food was deliciously prepared and our server was courteous and attentive. So pleased to have found this place amongst dozens of North End choices.
