Food was very good but the service was a little slow and unattentive. Overall was very good though.

Terrific, traditional Italian restaurant. Not fancy or stuffy; just great food and friendly service.

A great North End find. Delicious food. Tables in the front room are lovely, tables in the first inside room is energetic. Don't sit in the back room.

Just okay. Nothing distinguishes it from other no end spots. Service was an issue & it was only 5 pm. Waitress totally disinterested in us.

If you love pasta, this is the place to go! Homemade pasta in the tastiest sauces & dishes. Roasted salmon atop sauteed spinach was a winner, too. And, don't miss the tiramisu. Unbelievable! Great place to bring out-of-town guests because the food never disappoints. Enjoy!

Met BC classmates friday night at the restaurant after 44 years. Had a great dinner. Our waiter was
excellent and he led us through appetizer and dinner choices. Enjoyed it so much that my wife and I came back on Sunday for another dinner with the same waiter plus we bought a $100 gift certificate. Will definitly return.

I just wanted to let you know my girlfriend and I had an outstanding evening last night. Your staff was extremely friendly, helpful and on top of everything. The recommendations were great, and we couldn’t have been happier... The veal was perfect, and the homemade pasta exquisite. Thank you, and great job!

The food was very good without being too "heavy", the prices were reasonable, the wait staff was pleasant and the rest room was very clean! It was just a bit noisy for conversation for me. But that won't stop me from going back. There are more items on the menu I want to try!

6 of us co-workers ate here. 3 of us chose from the restaurant week menu and 3 did not. All of us loved our food. The portion sizes were average. The service was fabulous. The ambiance was great. They seated our party by the window in the front room. Perfect! Everyone had a great lunch.

We spent the weekend in Boston with our adult children and a friend recommended Cantina Italiana to us. We enjoyed our meal very much. Though not over the top the entrees were well prepared, hot and delicious. They were reasonably priced as well.

The food was not as fantastic as I was hoping: it was average and tasty, but certainly not the best the North End has to offer (at least for this price range). The dessert, however, was fantastic and waitrons were top notch!

as always, this restaurant was very good. We had the restaurant week menu. Plenty of food, nice selection, well presented. Our waiter was terrific and the wine, reasonably priced at the top of the line with a terrific selection.

I had a wonderful dinner for my girlfriend's birthday. It had the perfect vibe as being a special place that she won't forget, and the infrequency with which we go into Boston made it all the more special. It was absolutely great, and I highly recommend.

My only complaint had nothing to do with the restaurant. Some of the other patrons were there dressed in gym shorts and t-shirts, which I would not wear in the restaurant due to its upscale atmosphere. Also, it does not have the feel for children, so it would be best to save this place as adults-only. Other restuarants are more family-oriented. This is much more of a mature setting.

This is what I expect a restaurant to be in an Italian neighborhood! Great food, engaging staff, decent wine selections, full of Italian soul. I didn't mark "Fit for Foodies" only because that usually means trendy, but if you want Italian food from the heart, then this is the place. Special occasion? Absolutely (if you enjoy celebrating like a native son of Italy. I will bypass all other places in Boston when I visit again just to get here again.

What impressed me most about Cantina Italiana was the service. I didn't have to wait for my own waiter (who was friendly & knowledgeable) to take away cleared plates - whoever walked by first took them. I dropped the paper inside a bread basket & a waitress stopped to retrieve it before it hit the ground.
I thought the food was good overall. Mussels - excellent, lobster ravioli special - just ok, veal fiore - good, mixed drinks - really good.
