About Canoe Restaurant and Bar
Critically acclaimed to be among Canada’s best restaurants, Canoe's unique location high atop the TD Bank Tower affords a breathtaking view of the city and Lake Ontario. The design, originally conceptualized by noted designers Yabu Pushelberg and most recently refreshed by Anacleto Design, is clean and simple, yet absolutely stylish - a brilliant reflection of Canada's rich raw environment. That same brilliance is captured through the flavours and textures of Chef John Horne's inspired regional Canadian cuisine. The menu showcases the freshest and finest Canadian fish, game and produce, as well as an outstanding selection of Canadian vintages. "All that is Canadian defines Canoe." Canoe Restaurant and Bar Ratings and Reviews
This is our second time here and I was a little disappointed. Service was excellent but I didn’t enjoy my meal as much. I had the stag and I found it tough and I found there was too much fruit on the plate. My father had the halibut and said it was good but a little bland. Nothing was bad but it wasn’t as good as I expected from my last visit and for the price point
I was incredibly disappointed. We got there early to enjoy a drink at the bar. We felt like we were sitting at the airport lounge. We then moved to our dinner table which was nice. Great view! The mushroom soup tasted like mud. My partner' duck was Ok but cold. The waiter was very good. We will never go there again.
Nice ambience. Great service, from the greeter to the server. There's someone always fixing the napkin at my table if I happen to put it back on the table unfolded...that was quite an extra service. My wife didn't like the dessert that much, and was taken out of the bill...overall, great food. Will come back here again. Really liked the hot plate foie gras app and the steak for main was on point!! We got a table with a nice view as well...though hallways are a bit tight.
An excellent experience overall. Everything was perfect. The seafood platter and meat dishes were exquisitely prepared and very tasty. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about both food and wines and only needed a few words to come up with potential suggestions. This was impressive, both very professional while remaining very friendly. I would struggle to find anything to improve. Keep it up!
This was our second time at the restaurant. We took our visitors from Europe to enjoy the food and the view of Toronto. It was a special treat for all of us: the food was excellent (in my husband's and my case, the Tea Smoked Duck Breast). The absolute highlight was the Mint dessert which both my friend and I had ordered. Apparently, we both like mint, and the different textures on the plate wowed us both. We had a great time and will come again if we want to show off Toronto's dining scene and view to guests.
My breath was taken away the moment I entered the restaurant. The view is STUNNING. The Gentlemen who was serving us was given free reign over ordering for my date. His choices were off the charts. He was very well versed in the menu and set a wonderful and welcoming ambiance to an unforgettable evening. Thank you!!
I had booked the restaurant a month in advance stating it was for my anniversary. I had indicated that I wanted a romantic seating area with a great view. When we arrived, we were originally being seated by the kitchen near the wine ice bin. Then when I complained, we were given a seat between 2 large groups of people. I had to ask again to be moved. Then the server's pace was quite slow, that we chose to have our dessert somewhere else.
Your view brought us to your restaurant, but your lack of effort in making our special occasion most memorable, has made us not want to come back.
My friend & I had a special occasion reunion tasting menu with wine pairing. Everything was perfect, innovative & delicious. The spectacular view was wonderful!
We highly recommend Canoe for special occasion dining, but found the final tab very expensive! Our waiter Gian-Luca was attentive, gracious and deserves a rating of 10+!
If there were a correlation from price to service than it was worth every penny! Food to price value we found all items overpriced!
The food was excellent in taste and cooked very well. The desert, classic canoe butter tart, in particular was the best!
Our server was great and we were pleased with the service.
Highlight of our visit was when my son told the receptionist that he loved to cook, he was given a chef's hat signed by all the chefs of the restaurant and the kitchen tour made his day and of course made us feel happy too! An experience he will always remember fondly :-)
Went out of their way to accommodate my reservation request to add a candle to our dessert and they even decorated it by writing Happy Birthday on the plate.
The server was not aware of my request and took longer than expected to have it delivered but he apologized and told us the dessert was on the house.
Food was exquisite and service was exceptional. I would come back in a heartbeat.
We made a reservation for my wife's birthday and the restaurant gave us a great table, with wonderful service and special dessert for her. Additionally, when a few bar patrons stood near our table admiring the view - Canoe took some items off of our bill to apologize for the disturbance.
Fantastic experience, would recommend and will definitely go back.
