Canoe Restaurant and Bar
Their 'romaine salad' was uncut leaf lettuce that was brown at the stem.. yuck
I got a great window table even if I was alone. Thumb up. Menu is interesting, quantities are correct and the presentation is amazing. Yes it might be a bit expensive, but to me it’s worth the cost.
Excellent food - the onion soup was the best I’ve ever had. Good wine pairings, although some were better wines than others. Excellent service
Excellent food / experience. They managed to serve me halaal beef - I was so impressed! Lovely waitors - couldn’t do enough for us. Highly recommend.
Avoid this place. Do your self a favor. Your wallet, and pallet will thank you.
Good city views and quality food
Yes. Canoe is a solid restaurant for any occasion. The food is great and the staff are some of the best. To top it off, the view is pretty much the best one in the city.
I pick Canoe for my 25th birthday dinner, the service was really excellent, the food was good. They surprised me with a little sweet and candle for my birthday. It’s excellent !
In all the years I have been going to Canoe, I have never been disappointed. The food is always top notch.
One of the best restaurants in Toronto, excellent service, fantastic quality food, good view if you're not in a snowstorm cloud that day
Cuisines were super salty. Especially the mushroom dishes(soup and sides). Service was OK except they kept me waiting for my ordering for 15mins at least.
The cocktail worth the price since it’s only $16
It was great food, I just wish they had a chicken main dish.
Lovely ambiance, beautiful view, delicious food, impeccable service! Perfect early Valentine celebration!
The sweetbreads were perfectly prepared in an unusual fashion with different textures! The duck also almost perfectly prepared, save the mouse... the dessert chef was not,in our opinion, of the same excellent level as the rest of the menu. Still worth it....
Great food, and from the height in the building (on the 54th floor) there's a great view of the city. The location is a bit tricky to find, but they treat you very well. From our spot we had a view of the CN Tower, Ripley's Aquarium, and Rogers Center. It's a great place for foodies as well, as everything is presented nicely. This is a place you go to celebrate in a casual-formal setting. Not the best beer selection, but huge assortment of wines to choose from which takes nothing away from the experience. I would recommend it to anyone for the experience alone. Eating food this decadent isn't something I would choose to do often though.
I was disappointed that in spite of reservation we made a week before, it took 45 min to be seated. Appetizer, main food arrived super slow.
I had the duck, it was to die for! Great views and wonderful people!
Had dinner with my boy friend. Menu is perfect, the food was absolutely wonderful. Service was awesome as well. We especially enjoyed the larded beef filet and chocolate forest stout cake. We sat by the window and enjoyed the view with our delicious wine and dinner. Will be back definitely!
It's our second time enjoying Canoe. Overall everything was great, but I was a bit put off by a couple of things.
The buffalo mozzarella app was presented in what looked and tasted like a bowl of water that the mozzarella often comes in when you buy it at the store. It was a watery dish and not served with any bread...so you are a bit confused what you are suppose to do with half a bowl of, essentially, cheese water. I was also put off by the soft dollop of butter I found at the bottom of the dish.
Steak tartare main was fantastic. Unfortunately, I asked for no bacon in the dish due to an allergy. When they brought it out, presenting it as no bacon tartare, there was a large piece of bacon on top. I had to wait another five minutes for my dish while my partner's food was getting cold. That being said, the minute it came, it was devoured with immense enjoyment. It is a tad concerning though to request something due to an allergy, be reassured that it can be accommodated, and then see that it was not...God forbid someone doesn't notice an ingredient they can't have and eat a dish with an adverse ingredient, a medical emergency can result!
Overall, we will be returning; the food and environment is overall well worth it. If you want something more intimate and romantic, I suggest you go in evening vs lunch . Weekday lunch scene is hustling with business meetings and a bit more uppity.
The food was great. Although the servings are small. I found the space to crowded. The guy next to me had his jacket and knapsack on the seat and it kept falling onto. Again because the space is so small, you could hear everyone's conversation around you without much effort. I wouldn't recommend for a romantic date but I suppose it's a good spot for business meeting.
The service was not good. Our waiter didn't seem to interested .
Worth the visit for the excellent food from chef Ron. Imaginative and interesting beautifully presented.
The plating was excellent, however the seared Atlantic Salmon was amazing. I wished it was a menue item rather than a special, but I will call to find out when it is serverd again.
The food and service were exceptional. My only complaint would be the noise level. The restaurant was full, and as a result my wife and I found it difficult at times to hear each other. Nice, nice restaurant. Would recommend it to anyone for a special occasion.
Canoe has always been a favourite spot for food, service and the spectacular view. This visit was no exception. It has never been a disappointment.
I was with 2 other coworkers visiting from the US and we wanted to have a nice upscale meal with a view. Canoe checks off all of the boxes. Note that it is very expensive and the priority is on the presentation. If you are wanting to have a BIG meal this is not the place.
Please give our thanks to the Manager(s) and others for the wonderful room and for the service provided for husbands birthday. We had an amazing time. The room was so comfortable, the food absolutely spectacular (we ate two meals there) and a few appetizers Our waitress was just wonderful. Looking forward to having dinner their again. What a great place! The Manager really went out of his way and made us feel very comfortable because the service was a little slower . The Staff and Manager was very thoughtful and made everything possible to make us happy. Thank you again.
Loved the location and view. Food was amazing. Bar area is a little tight but still workable. The only negative was they lost my clients laptop bag in the coat room! That put a damper on the night. But up until then it was fun.
Business environment. View is great, service needs a better "attention to detail" environment.
We were at the restaurant as a celebration and I requested a window seat in my reservation but my request was not honoured
Special Dietary needs such as dairy and gluten free, are a fact of life. It is disappointing to see a restaurant like Canoe that claims to do their best in catering to your needs basically strips your dish from everything you can’t eat without any substitutes! My $40 halibut was over cooked and tasteless. The cooked veggie were a mosh and tasteless. The waiter was too busy to check on us after he dropped off the plates so I couldn’t even get a piece of lemon to add some flavour!!
Why is butter the only flavour in the kitchen!!
Great views, food and service could have been better
One of the most consistently fantastic restaurants in Toronto. Service is always on point and the food has bee consistently fantastic since I started eat there 15 years ago
Wonderful service! The staff was great!
A very nice special evening with great food, service and views
Excellent and attentive service. Thank-you! A perfect evening.
The 2 ladies at reception did not come across as professional/experienced. The could greet their patrons upon arrival and be more friendly/engaging - it was very flat.
Angela thank you for remembering that it was a special night for Katie, the dessert presentation was perfect. Thank you!
Taster menu with pairing
Pretty good experience！
Very good. So much better now!
