The food was amazing and the view was even better. Blew me away
BRILLIANT. Amazing evening with excellent health protocols, perfect service (thanks Kevin) and truly outstanding food - including the new menu additions - incredible lamb dish (huge), best pheasant I've ever had (perfectly cooked) and the scallop with pastry is fantastic. Wish there were Michelin stars to award. Can't wait to go back.
Nice place. Great view. Food is Ok. Wine pairing disappointing.
First of all, our server was great. Couldn’t complain. He was trying his best to get us food faster when we had to wait for each course more than 30 mins. The delay was not the biggest issue we had. The biggest issue was all of the tasting menu was too salty. We requested to make the rest of the courses less salty after the second or third course. However, the manager came and told us that unfortunately the saltiness cannot be adjusted.
It wasn’t only me felt the food was salty. All of the people at our table said it’s salty. Because of that we had to order more bread (btw, the bread was so good). The funny thing is even the desserts (ice cream sandwich) was salty.
My husband and I love visiting and exploring fine dinings in Toronto. He said “I’ve been to many restaurants but it was first time it was not worth at all spending this much money on this food. Never would go back”. Well.. maybe it’s because we had high expectations as Canoe was always ranked at top 5 in Toronto restaurants survey. My review to Canoe is.. even top 50 they cannot achieve.
You all know the view is amazing so if you want to visit the restaurant only for the view, go ahead. The view is amazing
We did the tasting menu with the wine pairings. We really enjoyed 6 of the 9 courses. We didn’t enjoy the flavour of the duck dish, too heavy and strong smelling. The ice cream sandwiches were too salty, and the petit four were underwhelming. The wine pairings were excellent, as well as the service.
For the money - the meal was ok. We had the tasting menu.
The duck roulis was a downer and for me spoiled the meal. It was too heavy and rich.
I appreciated that the whole meal was staggered and that the dishes that came before which consisted of most fish and sweetbreads was lovely.
The desert was average. There were 3 choices.
The gingerbread ice cream sandwich was ok. The cake and petit fois could have been bought from M&M.
The service was fine. Ambiance was great.
I probably won't be back.
Great environment and great service. The food is ok, around 4.0 out of 5.
Overall, a good place for special occasions.
The view is fantastic, the food is out of this world
Great meal as always at Canoe. Fresh ingredients, smartly prepared and impeccable service.
Always such a remarkable dining experience. Our guests from Calgary thoroughly enjoyed every moment.
The second course arrived cold, making us lose the momentum after the lovely appetizers, there was a very noisy group of 10 a few tables away ( couples should have a separate or at least segregated area for a romantic atmosphere, ), the lamb shank was unmanageable with the knife provided and seemed like an inflated value for the dish, and the numerous carousel of personnel depersonnalized the experience. Unfortunately we will have to recommend the view but not the food.
As a group, we tried different items on the menu and everything was delicious! The noise level was higher than expected due to the diners' conversations, no fault of the servers/owners. Our server was extremely knowledgable, took time to explain the menu and provided awesome suggestions. It was a wonderful and memorable celebration to end the year.
Not bad. I expected more from the food considering the prices, but overall it was okay.
This is the second time that I have dined at Canoe and I have to say they continue to amaze. The minute we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome from multiple staff. The atmosphere was great and the View is breathtaking. My wife and I had the Tasting Experience, the food was top notch and the presentation of the dishes were beautiful. Cocktail list was well balanced with fruity and spirit forward cocktails and the wine list has a wide variety to choose from. Perfect place for special occasions I would highly recommend and I can’t wait to go again.
My wife and I went to Canoe for our first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
The staff were very attentive to the details of our reservation (via OpenTable) about the fact that we were celebrating our anniversary. The hostess and server were very quick to congratulate us.
The food was amazing. We dine out quite often and found Canoe to be quite unique in terms of the dishes and sourcing ingredients locally/within Canada.
Overall we had a wonderful time and would recommend Canoe to everyone and anyone who is considering it as a venue.
Outstanding experience staff is fantastic and the food was delicious! The view from the 54th floor does not disappoint….. beautiful!
We had the canoe tasting menu with wine pairing.
Well worthit, both the food and service!
We came with VERY HIGH expectations.
Came away with those exceeded by 200%!
Great food, thoughtful service, and a perfect lunch time place to enjoy an amazing view.
We were disappointed in overall experience. The food is not exceptional yet the price is high. Canoe once had exemplary service, very professional and that is no longer the case. A floor manager was clearly lacking. Soup bowls should have a plate underneath to set the spoon. There was no place to put olive pits except on the table. The server's mask was under his nose the entire time except when we drew it to his attention. Then it would slip again. This is more a 'winterlicious' experience than a high end dining experience we once enjoyed at Canoe. Dessert was v. disappointing. This is not a server issue..this is a management problem.
I wish when we made the reservation that we knew the kitchen closed at 1:30.
Le repas était fantastique ! C'est cher mais le service était de très grande qualité, je recommande. Amazing .
Attentive service, fantastic food.
It was great as always. Lunch service feels more businessy than dinner service, but I guess that is to be expected. Otherwise, excellent for quick lunch.
Food could be warmer. Some flavours were competing on the same dish for the foie grad parfait. Could be more refined. Service was excellent though.
Outstanding dinner with exquisite service. The staff was very knowledgeable and welcoming the entire evening. The view of the city is incredible and the food is one of a kind. We will be back in the near future.
Everything was amazing. From the ambience, to the service, to the food. The view from our table was absolutely breathtaking. Although we went for the 9 course tasting, we were full by the 5th dish. Also the Red Sangria was EVERYTHING!! Canoe is worth def. worth it!!
World class dining with a million dollar view. We had the tasting menu which was creative and tasty.
Our server Steven(Stephen?) was stellar. Canoe never ever disappoints.
What a great place! Loved it. Will go back.
Wonderful dining experience.
Excellent service and ambiance & views.
One of the best vegan fine dining (options) I’ve enjoyed in Toronto.
Vegan tasting menu was exquisite.
Lunch was wonderful as always.
Great to see Jeff and the rest of the Canoe team
Absolute best restaurant in Toronto. Thank you to the entire team for making our celebration so special.
Got the tasting menu! It was delicious and the sizes where great but the plates took too long, we spent three hours for a nine course tasting menu. Views are incredible
Our server was very experienced and professional - wonderful food - great location - Oliver and Bonacini Restaurants are always great I have found ! Thanks to Canoe for our great evening out. Cheers Paul
Would recommend the tasting menu if you are open to experience new & different interpretations of cuisine, both visual & gastronomically
Tried the 9 course tasting menu with wine pairings. Each course was fully explained and how the ingredients were sourced and Canoe featured some great Canadian wines from Nova Scotia, BC and Ontario along with others from France and Italy.
It was truly a Michellin experience!
