Absolutely. Best prime rib I've had in a long time and my wife enjoyed the tenderloin/lobster special. Great seating in front of the fireplace. We arrived a little early but were seated promptly. Food was wonderful, atmosphere perfect and our server Allison was professional and casual in perfect balance. Will return again.
Food quality and our server was amazing. Pork shank is a hidden treasure.
If you like anything beef, great place to go in NOTL. Only negative is a shallow wine list.
The Cannery ambience was excellent.
We both had the prime rib which included Yorkshire pudding, green beans, asparagus, parsnips, carrots and a bake potato with the works. Nicely, plated together. The prime rib was extremely tender.
Top it off we had a friendly server who provided excellent service.
It’s time to retire salmon Marrakech. We pescatarians want to try something new and more in keeping with the region. Maybe salmon prepared with maple syrup or wine. Our server was great. The banana fritters were recommended by the man bussing tables. Best rec on our trip. They were amazing!
No disappointments. Service was excellent by Patricia. Prime rib, surf & turf entrees were hearty portions. Recommend the mussels appetizer to share. Wine by the bottle pricing was very reasonable.
Great ambiance with fireplaces and Xmas décor.
Lovely meal and atmosphere. David was our server and not only made excellent food recommendations, he also gave us information on things to do. The surf and turf special was amazing as was the salted caramel creme brûlée. Would definitely return.
Amy our waitress was very engaging and efficient. She totally helped make my sisters birthday lunch very special. The food was amazing. Thank you so very much.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommended for an evening with friends or a romantic dinner for two.
We brought friends from South Carolina to Cannery Restaurant knowing they would not be disappointed and we were so right. We all had a wonderful meal and enjoyed the evening.
Had the special. Lobster and beef tenderloin. Lobster was barely edible. Tasted like it was precooked and reheated. Tough and spongy. The beef was cooked beautifully but lacked flavour. Far too much money for the meal we received.
Serever was awesome and the food was amazing!
Food was expensive for what you received.
We ordered the Risotto, had better for half the price.
Decor was really nice. Server was good.
Very romantic, cozy, quiet great for a date night
The experience was awesome!! The service was great just the right amount of attention. It made for a perfect birthday celebration. Our server was Elissa and she was awesome! Would highly recommend this restaurant. I’ve been here a few times and every single time is better than the last.
The food was excellent, however the Pillar and Post was hosting a corporate event and as we were settling into pre-dinner beverages and conversation the room became very loud as what I estimate to be 50 to 100 conference attendees entered the room. While they were not boisterous, the noise level from all these people chatting away as they lined up to be seated was such that we could not hear our tablemates and somewhat distracting, eliminating any sense of ambience. I would suggest that the management either find a separate area for these large and loud corporate events to dine in, or advise regular dinner guests before they make a reservation of the potential situation. Other than the noise, it was an enjoyable dinner.
We went specifically for the prime rib and enjoyed tremendously. Our server was excellent and helped us with wine selection which paired well with the meat. We were seated close to one of the fireplaces which contributed to the ambience.
Server was outstanding and rewarded our birthday guest with a special desert
Series of delays during our meal led to an unpleasant experience. Prime rib was well done when ordered medium. Had already waited 1 hr 20 min for entrees so requested discount instead of new meal which they did provide but didn’t remedy the situation in my opinion. Was embarrassed I choose this restaurant because was celebrating my sisters birthday. Put a damper on the celebration.
In general I enjoyed the Cannery; however, the lobster soup was not warm enough. the Roast Beef was excellent but the vegetables were overcooked and the Yorkshire pudding was more like a hard biscuit, not quite what I expected.
The service was kind and welcoming, and the food was delicious. Decent portions and great quality. A very good local wine list to go with it as well. It probably gets louder on weekends and during higher season, but it was at a volume to easily carry a conversation when we went in October, and had dinner on a Friday night closer to closing time. We'd definitely recommend it, and if staying at the Pillar and Post, the packages are great.
Visiting Niagara Falls wanted a nice dinner. The building and restaurant was beautiful.
The service was extremely but the food was just ok and very expensive. My husband had prime rib and it was cold.
Maybe we just ordered the wrong things. The presentation of all food going by was nice
Our server Callie, was excellent. Just the right level of attentiveness while not being “ever present”. My braised ribs were deliciously tender and flavourful although the porcine scones were less than appealing. My husband’s prime rib was an exceedingly generous portion and was exactly medium rare. The potato; however, appeared to have been baked, reheated and reheated again. Not the best accompaniment to a very nice cut of beef. All in all, it was a very good meal and with just a bit of tweaking, could have been an excellent meal.
The food was delicious, service was exceptional.
We were disappointed that the appetizers had no shareable choices. We were able to order a cheese and fruit tray which was not on the menu although we were told is was often a dessert choice.
We had all thought we might have a dessert but were also disappointed that there was nothing that appealed to any of us - such as chocolate mousse or other primarily chocolate desserts. There was not even an option for an ice-cream sundae with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce because there was no vanilla ice cream.
The service was friendly and good but the quality of the food did not warrant the price we paid.
Only complaint is my wife's Lobster linguini flavor was quite a bit overwhelmed by the bacon in the dish. Our waiter was very gracious and provided a free dessert. My halibut was done to perfection.
We thoroughly enjoyed our delicious buffet breakfasts, this past Thanksgiving Monday, at The Cannery Restaurant! This historic building was converted from a cannery in the Niagara Region into a restaurant, with spectacular 19th century original post and beam structure evident throughout. Excellent, attentive service. Food selection was extensive and attended frequently by staff. Also, fresh waffles and omelettes to order, were prepared by a chef in a centre station. Fabulous restaurant!
Everything was wonderful
We had a lovely Thanksgiving meal. The service and ambience was excellent!
We went there for brunch and the ambience was excellent for a very relaxing meal. Server was very nice and friendly, although she was quite busy. The salads were excellent and helped to create a great first impression. However the hot food was mediocre. For this price point, they should use real eggs for brunch, and suggest to find a way not to dry out the main entrees. Would recommend to friend if you are looking for a break from busy life.
This is a wonderful brunch, especially for the price. The selection is abundant, ranging from breakfast breads, fresh fruits and yogurts, omelette station, carving station, and lunch entrées featuring pasta and hot meat. The desserts are also great.
Very beautiful setting and delicious food. Service was wonderful. Ambience was good until a loud table of 4 was seated beside us.
Service was quick and they gave great recommendations!
Server was very friendly and answered our questions about the menu with her recommendations. Large portions we could barely finish!
Very disappointing evening at the Cannery. My wife and I went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We started out going to the bar for a drink and waited nearly 10 minutes until somebody waited on us and there was no one at the bar. There was a bartender behind the bar but it appeared her primary job was to fill drinks for the waiters and waitresses. It felt very uncomfortable and very unwelcoming.
We did tell the hostess when we checked in for dinner who brought the manager over and apologized. We were then seated our waitress came over and introduced yourself, and then we waited another 10 to 15 minutes until we could just order some wine. Very disappointing
Our appetizer was very good (crab cakes),but our entrees of prime rib were outstanding! I don't usually order this out anymore, but decided since it was a specialty of the restaurant, we would do, and we were not disappointed! The finale was the dessert - banana fritters - delish!
Our server was excellent, very attentive and aware. Definitely will eat there again.
Lovely ambiance, accompanied with a wonderful dinner menu. Elegant dining room, excellent service. Our heartfelt congratulations to a talented and creative chef. Exquisite plate presentations. A memorable Thanksgiving Weekend!
Beautiful spot for an evening meal. Service is attentive, Food preparation is exquisite, yet it is quiet to the point of being able to carry on a conversation with guests. Too many dining establishments are
noisy, busy and cluttered. We prefer something relaxing and inviting.
Great food.. really expensive
Coffees and water
Soup and a salad for $150
But good for a special occasion
Nice to get back to the place we held our wedding. Hostess desk was a little unorganized upon arrival even with a reservation. Didn't seem to know where to sit us. Server was excellent and timing of the courses was good.
