Cane & Canoe - Montage Kapalua Bay
Best view in the city and the food was delicious! Would definitely visit this restaurant again!
Service was very slow, even with restaurant not very busy. Other than that, a good experience
Breakfast was great, they even gave us a fruit platter for our anniversary. Server was very attentive. We like the ambience, the resort us beautiful!
Easter Brunch was amazing!
Ordered the special. Fish was dry and overcooked. Price for the special was $10 higher than the same special at Leilani's.
We enjoyed everything, Thanks for a great evening!
Great meal and wonderful service, would recommend to anyone in the area
Beautiful setting, delicious food, attentive and thoughtful service. Goat cheese tempura salad was so good.
Our food was excellent at every step. Probably a little expensive compared to some of the options available around; Mama’s, Merriman’s; as those places have a bit better food. When this place started getting busy the service plummeted; which is consistent with other reviews. Great views, do not necessarily like hearing the noise from above where people are in the lobby.
Great restaurant..staff was friendly and engaging and food delicious..
The food was delicious. The service extremely slow and no -existent most of the time (took forever to order our first drink and for it to arrive...empty glassses for quite a while before our server asked us if we wanted another one). We arrived at 6:45 and didn’t leave until 8:30 and we only had one course. The food was very very expensive and drinks even more expensive (Cabernet wine by the glass was $35!). With prices like that- you should certainly have more attentive service
The service was very slow. Appeared they were understaffed on waiter/waitress ratio. Because of overwork our server was impersonal.
Lovely ambiance. Husband said his steak was cold. I had Delicious scallops. Amazing selection of wines. Would have liked to have seen fresh catch of the day ( Fish) for this price not just scallops, Ahi and Prawns.
We very much enjoyed our experience. Such a beautiful setting overlooking the ocean, but the overall ambiance here is amazing. We both enjoyed our meals, along with the extensive wine selections.
The food and ambiance were very good, but the server seemed to be under a lot pressure. The hostess and host were very professional and attentive. Though our reservation was made for two, they quickly cleaned and set up another table for a party of three. Overall, the experience was great as usual.
Restaurant was beautiful but food was average. For the price my pink snapper was a very small portion and over cooked. The tuna was cooked nicely, but surprisingly bland with no real flavors. Baked Hawaiian was great, at least it ended on a good not, but way overpriced for what we got.
Cane and Canoe was an amazing location with average to above average food, given the price.
The service, food, and ambiance were outstanding as always.
I have always enjoyed dinners at Cane & Canoe, and my first time breakfast was equally as enjoyable.
This is the epitome of 5 star dining in the most elegant and tranquil location. The amuse buse had the most exquisite amount of taste packed into the smallest bite. I truly don't know how they did it. We began with the beef tartare, which had a delightful twist with an astounding flavor profile. The entrees of tuna and scallops cannot be put into words and I won't sell any part of this meal short. The roasted cauliflower was absolutely as tasty and flavorful as the scallops and that is the spectrum of culinary perfection that this place offers. The dessert was equally as diverse and scrumptious. I only wish I could go back 5 more nights. Jeff paired well with the 5 star cuisine and was extremely cool. Thanks for the best birthday meal ever.
This hidden gem in Kapalua is an amazing restaurant and food and service the views from the open air
Restaurant is truly breathtaking,my husband and I had great service and the good was exceptional,we had a desert to share as it was his birthday and it was on the house ,the staff are amazing as well ! Thanks to Ariel and Joel for wonderful service !
It was a birthday. The server knew and politely acknowledged the birthday celebration as she was handing out menus. And that was the end of it. We never heard any more during the meal or at dessert. Seemed kind of odd. She was either busy and forgot, or the restaurant simply does nothing more.
Great service in a relaxed atmosphere with a beautiful Hawaiian sunset
Outstanding food, great service and a beautiful property!! A must stop restaurant when in Maui..
Perfect spot to watch the sunset. Service and ambiance is reserved and effective. Food is excellent quality but on the pricey side. Cuve Montage is a nicely balanced sparking white from Sonoma. Excellent place for a special occasion with lots of attention to detail. A bit of a shame that residents seem to take it for granted as it deserves respect. Staff are attentive but not intrusive.
Love this place for breakfast! We never miss an opportunity when we are in Hawaii.
Service was wonderful, setting is beautiful and food was unique and delicious.
Beautiful setting, great meal, great service. Quiet and serene (tables are spaced for privacy and views).
Beautifully setting with a great view of sunset. Nice menu. Good wine selection. Outstanding service
Great breakfast in a great outdoor atmosphere. The view from our table was amazing. Breakfast was excellent, but very pricey. Service was outstanding.
Outstanding breakfast, beautiful setting, amazing service.
We were a little reluctant to go here based on some of the reviews but chose to try anyway. The place is beautiful. The setting is exceptional. Our server(Mark) was very attentive but not obtrusive. The food was well prepared and very good. Only negative is that it is pricey compared to similar places we ate at. Would return and would recommend sunset as the place opens up to the pool and ocean looking west.
Super delicious steaks in a gorgeous setting. Service is on point
Beautiful views and scenery, the food was very good, but the drinks were outrageously over priced (and we were prepared to spend $$$) but that coupled with only one waitress put a sour taste in our mouth. Waitress came over almost as soon as we sat down and we asked for a few more minutes so we could prepare to order drinks and apps. That turned into over 20 minutes which gave us time to see that single drink prices were more expensive than a bottle of liquor at the local Hawaiian liquor store. Opted for a local beer, which came out warm, but by that point we were ready to order and be done. I travel for a living and am not shy to spend money on a nice meal and
We were looking for a restaurant that served primarily seafood and didn’t realize this one focused on beef. But we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the ambience. The roof and sides of the restaurant retract right before sunset, allowing a full view while eating. The goat cheese tempura salad was beautiful but a little too heavy for what I was looking for. My husbands beet salad would have been a better choice for the lighter fare. His filet was cooked perfectly and my scallops were too. There was an art show just outside the restaurant which made it difficult to leave because of the crowding but air Pringle didn’t ruin the quiet, romantic vibe while we were dining.
Lovely elegant setting. Delicious food and excellent table service.
Everything about the Cane & Canoe is First Class.
We keep coming back because the tables are far enough apart that you can carry on a conversation without having to yell at each other.
The setting was fantastic. Food was poor. Mai tai excellent . Salad good. Lamb was very fatty and cooked poorly rare rather than medium. The spinach was extremely salty, Dessert was fine with cheesecake and ice cream. I would not recommend it as too expensive and poor food.
Very nice open air restaurant with lovely view of the ocean. The prime rib-eye tartar appetizer was not impressive (little taste). The Ora King Salmon sashimi appetizer and the Jidori chicken and Ora King Salmon entrees were excellent. The wines are overpriced, and the small martinis are overpriced. The waiter was very informative and attentive.
We were seated for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. We had made reservations “our 53rd wedding anniversary”. No one said anything until we were ready to order dessert, when my wife told the server it was our anniversary. The entire meal had TERRIBLE service, and the place was not even half full. We expected superior service from a hotel of this type, but we were terribly disappointed. We will not visit here again. Sorry.
