Cane & Canoe - Montage Kapalua Bay
Don't go not worth it. Over salted expensive old menu.
Great food, good wine list, gorgeous view. Only drawback was that the restaurant emptied out at 9pm on. Friday night. Otherwise would definitely return.
This restaurant has the best service of any we’ve been to. They don’t rush you through your meal and very attentive to our needs. The food is delicious. We shared the goat cheese tempura starter. We both had the special. Can’t recall the Hawaiian name for the fish, but is red snapper. Also absolutely delicious. I highly recommend Cane and Canoe.
Delicious breakfast. Stellar views. Just perfect.
Fabulous location. Excellent food. Prices not completely bad for the quality of food, though a few things like oysters are overpriced. Very good wine selection.
Excellent dining experience. Great wine selection and fantastic steaks. It will cost you but worth it.
The view and location are beautiful. Nice menu selections which is why we returned on our last night on Maui. Unfortunately the service and professionalism was missing on both visits. First time we went server seemed very new and didn’t explain food preparations when asked. Also didn’t refill our wine glasses. Our last evening the server seemed more experienced but once the food was served the attention was lacking. Again we had to refill our wine glasses and even asked him to do it when he came to see if we wanted anything else to eat. We expect a higher level of service in this type of restaurant. The staff was very helpful and friendly in the bar. It’s not that the servers weren’t friendly but they could do with some training. We had higher expectations for a restaurant in the Montage.
One of the Best Restaurants on Maui.
Wonderful service and delicious food. Will definitely be back!
Awesome service so attentive and accommodating. We had a wonderful time.
Returned for second dinner since we enjoyed the first dinner so much. Experience was just as amazing and the food again something to write about. The fresh Onago fish preparation was “the best thing I ever ate”. Loved the farro and Brussels sprouts and the sauce in the side went so well with the fish. Whoever is in the kitchen...come out and Be applauded. Thanks again for memorable Maui dinner
Great dining experience, servers were very attentive to our needs.
Amazing dinner. Service 5 star. Everyone happy to have you in restaurant. Fish preparation outstanding
Amazing food and location but impersonal wait staff that felt canned in all their responses.
We love getting Jake as our server!
We had a wonderful server, Jake, who made the breakfast even better than it already was! Great POG-Mosas (their version of mimosas) & meals.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience. There are a few 'tips' we can think of.....refold the napkin if a chair is vacated for a quick trip to the restroom (always a nice touch), check wine refills, flatware replacement after each course....all these things should be automatic in a restaurant such as this. Our server was very nice, perhaps his assistants needed a bit more training. The ambiance is superb. Again, overall, a pleasant evening.
Excellent location, view, and food. Very happy with service and everything was perfect.
Beautiful setting, fantastic food, wonderful service.
The food was excellent and the view of the ocean is amazing. The kids menu is a build your own platter with healthy options. I had the lobster pot pie which was delicious.
For our 35th wedding anniversary, we celebrated with dinner at Cane and Canoe. A lovely dining room with beautiful garden and water view, complimented by a nice sunset on a very hot day, there were so many helpful people who seated us, greeted us, treated us and served us...Christian, Mark and Sierra with top notch serving, and a lovely woman Sommelier from the East Coast ( sorry to lose track of her name). The food was fresh, interesting, tasty...and pricey. We enjoyed the crab on crostini and Big Eye Ahi with avocado for appetizers, to-die-for scallops and risotto dish and the delicious huge prawns with an added lobster tail. We were completely stuffed...but happy!
Thank you to all who made our evening so special...even when the short downpour descended, sending us running for another table...graciously provided by Mark and Sierra!
Mahalo nui loa!
One of our favorite restaurants on the island. We come here every year we visit Maui. They make even the most ordinary food taste extraordinary. The view and the service never disappoint either.
This is our favorite restaurant on Maui... it is completely worth the trek up to Napili. Outstanding food, great wine list, impeccable service and the view of the sunset is perfect
Very nice place
and gluten free god was 🔝
Seems to be in a jungle with waterfalls ad trees
The staff was amazing and very accommodating to any requests.
Beautiful venue. Wonderful food and service! Best meal on Maui. Kevin took exceptional care of us.
20 years ago we stayed at the old Kapalua Bay hotel. Imagine our surprise to see what they built after tearing down the old place. $500 million invested in a five star property designed to be all private residences but now partly a hotel. That tells you what you need to know about ambience. Absolutely beautiful.
Service was excellent. We both ordered steaks and they were perfectly prepared with a beautiful presentation. The Brussel Sprout side was wonderful.
Good wine by the glass list and a stroll around the property for dessert. Put this one on your “to do” list on Maui, it’s worth it.
Absolutely beautiful place. Food was incredible and service was top notch.
Outrageous prices!! Not worth it!
Delicious food. Beautiful sunset view!
We went for an anniversary and birthday celebration. The food and services were fabulous. . The restaurant and view was stunning.
Menu creativity, food, and ambiance were outstanding, but service was lackluster, inattentive, and unbefitting the culinary experience. With a well-curated wine list and bottle prices ranging from $100 to $3,500, we expected glassware to be better than standard-issue bar ware. Additionally, the staff should be better trained on wine service.
Zane did a good job, however the food was overcooked, overpriced and not what I would have expected from a high end restaurant. I asked for a medium rare center cut filet, it was cooked well done. The hasselback potato was dry and overcooked as well. Another server brought us warm water, I asked 3 times for ice and was ignored. I would never spend $200.00 for a $20.00 meal again. I was embarrassed to have brought a client here.
Consistently one of the best food and service operations on the island. HIGHLY trained staff and the food quality, atmosphere and overall experience are consistently top notch. Our server Marc was professional, personable and his call backs were perfectly timed. We each had the beet salad and the catch of the day which was a snapper. Delicious, though cooked a bit more than we like; but perfect for the tourists that shy away from sashimi or medium rare fish.
Marc asked about allergy or food preferences, which was nice as neither of us likes bell peppers and their strong flavor with delicately flavored fish. The beet salads were filled with red and yellow beets plus a few strawberries. No need to hunt for the beets as in the typical beet salad.
Both the fish and the avocado sauce were spiced, one or the other, preferably the sauce would have been better.
My complements to the management for such a professional operation.
Especially appreciated the extra special touch (variety of birthday treats for the birthday girl).
Our server was fantastic! She anticipating all our needs.
Best view in the city and the food was delicious! Would definitely visit this restaurant again!
Service was very slow, even with restaurant not very busy. Other than that, a good experience
