Good selection of pastas, meat, and seafood dishes. Service was fine. Portions were good sized. And it all tasted very good.
We were celebrating my birthday, but Candicci’s is also excellent for everyday lunch or dinner. Always good food and service.
Clearly, one of our favs! We are never disappointed at Candicci’s. Jeff, our server, was attentive serving our order in a timely manor. House salad always delicious. Our pasta entrees were served hot, and were large portions. Delicious! And, the live music was a nice touch.
My fiancé and myself had always wanted to try it decided to take my mother there just spend some time together. Ambience was OK facility was a little old but was clean. Food was Okay My fiancé and mother complained there food was too salty I thought the food was good the value was better than most. Overall I would rate it is good definitely worth trying
Excellent food and service. I always appreciate when the owner comes by and checks on you. Highly recommended.
Enjoy Candicci’s. Been there a few times recently and food and service and excellent. Tried numerous items on the menu. I would say an older style Italian. Good stuff!
Food was excellent. Wine very good and on Mondays and Thursdays bottles of wine are $10 off. Great happy hour in the bar
This was our anniversary diner. We have eaten at Candiccic's many times and find it a good value. In fact my son enjoys eating there when he comes into town. My wife had the Raimondo’s Tutto Mare and I had the Seafood Ravioli. Both were good. Although, what I found out about there ravioli is that you need to specify that you want it served on a plate with the sauce on the side. Otherwise, it is served in a bowl drowning in sauce. Maybe some like it swimming in sauce, but I don't. John our waiter was very accommodating.
The lights around the restaurant are LED string christmas lights that really take away from the atmosphere. Either replace them with a warmer/yellow lighting or remove them entirely.
It was okay...
We had a wonderful meal and time for Valentine Day. The owner came by several times to ask how everything was going. Our server was prompt courteous and engaging. Will be back for sure.
Excellent food and service for our Valentine's Day dinner
The food was great and the servings were very generous. Absolutely loved our waiter, Louie.
Went for dinner with friends. Food and service was outstanding. Can’t wait to go back.
Great food. Great service
Candicci's was a great, quiet restaurant with nice background music on New Year's Eve. Our waiter Jim was fantastic and the manager/owner came by twice to say hi. Perfect dining!
It was a nice dinner on New Years Eve and celebrating a family wedding anniversary.
We go her every Christmas Eve. Probably not again. I had the veal. Not prepared well. Too thick, obviously not tenderized and way too much breading for a piccata ..not tender as veal should be. Sauce tasted like flour. If family was not there I would have asked it to be taken off bill.
Good food, great atmosphere, very accommodating. We had reservations for Christmas Eve and needed to add 2 more people. They were completely booked but still managed to accommodate us. Wonderful evening.
Good family friendly restaurant. An easy dinner with the kids.
We attended this restaurant for my wife’s birthday based on yelp reviews and were very disappointed but honestly I could’ve done much better in my own kitchen the pasta was too rich and true much olive oil in everything
Atmosphere was great. The service was good and the food was great. Haven't been there for awhile. They have a new menu with more variety.
Service was great and food was great. Candicci's was very accomodating to our group of 11 people.
We found our table ready. The hostess sat us and the waiter was prompt with our order.
This was our first time in the restaurant, usually the Chef or owner or the manager would talk to us. But this was not done here that’s why they got only 4 stars.
The food was good and the wine suggestions were appropriate.
We have been going to Candicci's since they opened and always enjoy the wide variety of Italian dishes. The service is always very good especially with Jeff, our preferred server. When booking through Open Table, we always request him. We highly recommend Candicci's for lunch, dinner or any special occasion.
Veal was to have a white wine sauce but was more like alfredo. Way to heavy for veal and the broccoli tasted funny. Must have been a seasoning on it. I was there several years ago and food was very good. Don't know what happened
good value for quality food. the owner greets you at your table. all you can ask for a pleasant dinner
Jim was great!
Food was amazing as well as the service. Waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. Worth the drive from St. Charles. Great quality and amount of food for the money and clean. Bonus that I could book my reservation through "Open Table" app on my phone. Our third time here and never been disappointed!
Great always hot food, makes a difference when the employees walk around making sure food is to liking. First class Italian food.
Service was slow and all we needed was drinks since it was a brunch buffet. Adding 20% gratuity must have made the waiter not work as hard since he was guaranteed his too.
Didnt like that the pizza crust was soggy and the hostess was a nervous wreck not a good first impression
We have dined several times at Candicci's and have never been disappointed. Our server, Jeff, was great. He was attentive without hovering. One of the specials was Grouper served over a bed of parmesan Risotto. The fish was perfectly seasoned, and the risotto was the perfect compliment. It was served hot and delicious! The pasta primavera, the other dish we ordered, was also delicious. The veggies were crisp and plentiful, and the sauce outstanding. A wonderful dining experience!
Very good food. Service was average. A touch loud. Nice to be able to watch the game.
Candicci's salad is great. It could be your entire meal. Bread is good too. Pasta is average.
Food was ok, but definitely not great. I got ravioli and there was 1/2 bowl of sauce left over. My spouse had a seafood pasta with very little seafood and not good flavor to the sauce. We sat in a booth that was broken on the end; they need to revitalize their menu and their seating.
Three things make dining here much less enjoyable.
1. Live music. This is not a place designed for live music and it tends to disrupt and make dinner conversations difficult.
2. This is not a venue designed for large parties. There is no separate room available. When a celebration of some sort brings a large group in, everyone else in the area is subject to their revelry.
3. The tables in the back section of the dining area are jammed way too close together. There is literally at most an inch between two adjacent tables. It feels as if you are sharing a table with strangers. It also screams greed. Let's see how many people we can jam in to make as much money as possible with little regard to the dining experience of the customer.
Dining here for decades; followed restaurant from Clayton, to Creve Coeur, to Ballwin..Still great food.
Nice atmosphere and outstanding food paired with a variety of wine choices. The service however was pretty pathetic, glasses of water set unfilled until you literally grabbed somebody (after waiting 15 minutes +), had to grab my own extra plate and the dirty/empty dishes from earlier courses sat on our table for at least 20 minutes - and we were seated next to the waiter station. Plenty of opportunities to service, but the staff simply ignored. Really a shame as the food is some of the best Italian I've had in St Louis in some time. The staff leans to learn the difference between hospitality and service - and actually could stand to learn what at least minimal service is
The food was outsanding and consistant. A very friendly atomphere! Great spot to go!!!
