The Staff is extremely attentive, and friendly. Feels like home, plus the food is AMAZING and AUTHENTIC!
Came to dinner here with my parents, always wanted to try it due to working close by. Ordered guacamole, the woman said it would be table side prep, but we just got a small bowl of it instead... was fresh but a little disappointing. Then when our food came, the quality was very average. I got fajitas. The beans didn't taste very good, seemed watery, and the cheese was the type you get at the grocery store in bags. The most ridiculous part was, we wanted more salsa, the ones that came with the chips and the lady said it would cost $2.... I have never ever been charged to replace salsa that was already given To you for free especially the ones that came with the chips. Forget it. I wouldn't recommend this place for "high quality", very average in presentation. The servers were nice but there are other places I prefer for Mexican food in the city.
We didn't get alcohol drinks but I did get a Diet Coke and it tasted flat.
We got there and they were closed. They had no idea I even had a reservation. Did nothing and offered nothing. It was pouring rain and nothing else was open in the neighborhood.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere! Fun vibe, good happy hour deals at the bar, delicious food at the table. Our server was excellent and made us every time he came over.
It was good Spanish food nothing extra. Interior resembles culture. Music was extremely loud. Pina colada was extremely sweet. Bathrooms need to be better kept. But other than that it would be a good go to restaurant late night as they are open late.
The service was excellent and the Margaritas were delicious we will be back only they should include some music with the ambilance
The food was very good, especially for the prices, and the service was excellent. Went with a group and we all enjoyed our dinner and drinks!
Delicious guacamole with terrific chips. The chorizo appetizer was also well prepared, grilled perfectly. Chicken enchiladas were a bit on the dry side, even with sauce and sour cream on top; I prefer moister enchiladas. But still acceptable. The only major negative was an extremely vocal squealing child at the next table, which went on and on throughout most of our meal. At some point, restaurant staff should have asked this family to quiet their kid down. I’m assuming this doesn’t happen every night, but it was very unpleasant. Otherwise, this seems like a fine, dependable neighborhood Mexican restaurant and I’ll try it again.
Great, fresh food. Service is relaxed, allow ample time.
This was a nice little Mexican restaurant near Times Square. Portions were surprisingly large and the food was quite good. I had the shrimp quesadilla and my fiancé had a steak burrito. The best part, however, was the fried ice cream. Neither of us had ever had it before, but gave it a try and inhaled it. Absolutely delicious! Service was slow, but I’m beginning to think that is typical in NYC.
Hostess, servers were excellent. Food wss great. When we're back in NY, we shall return.
The food was very good. The restaurant was a bit loud so I do not recommend going if you do not enjoy loud environments. The service was quick and the employees were friendly.
Can’t say enough good things about the food and quantity.
Great place to reconnect with girlfriends. When we all lived in NY, Cancun was out spot for dinner after work.
Picked this place because of the Happy Hour drinks specials. Could not get the Happy Hour specials at the table. Margaritas were over double the price at a table than the bar. It was extremely loud. Food was edible, but nothing special. Honestly, Chipotle has better Mexican food. Would only come back if it was to just go to the bar for $5 margaritas during Happy Hour.
Cancun is a family favorite. The food is consistently good and the staff makes you feel at home. The kids love the way they celebrate birthdays. A great neighborhood gem
The $13 frozen drinks weren't frozen at all. Food was good, but way overpriced. Service was lacking to say the least.
Enchilada dinner was served cold
Hard cheese in cheese ensalada
Although we had a large group, the restaurant was not busy and the food took over an hour to arrive.
Food was surprisingly very tasty and quite affordable. My only hiccup was that I couldn't bring my drink from the bar to the table.
Absolutely incredible. The staff was so sweet and accommodating. It was my brothers birthday and they turned off the restaurant music to play happy birthday in Spanish and had a giant candle almost like a sparkler!
We went in after a Broadway show just because it was really close to the theatre , for an early dinner at about 5 PM . The place was almost empty when we've got there but getting busier towards the end of our meal . The food was OK , but nothing to write home about it ( compared to other Mexican restaurants that I've visited in the City ) . Not so cheap for what it was . The place was very cold and drafty , it seemed that the wind was blowing every time someone was opening the front door ( and we weren't even seated by the door , but quite in the back , by the wall !! ) . I saw some other customer ( a Bachelorette party ! ) even keeping the coats on during dinner ! I won't visit this place again .
Good food, Friendly staff and it is close to Central park
Ingredients in menu items were fresh and of high quality. Service was efficient and friendly. Restaurant was clean and organized.
Horrible customer service. They won't let you order happy hour specials from the table. Ridiculous
Fun place without the crowds around Times Square. Delicious dinner and awesome margaritas!
We had previously eaten twice in Cancun restaurant and it was always a good experience. We decided to bring our visiting family to eat some good mexican food. The waiter immediately saw that we were not american (although I live in NYC) and did not offer tap water, only bottled water (that will cost us $9 per bottle later) until I realized what he was trying to do (take advantage of tourist people). On top of that, he brought some guacamole (which we though was complementary and ended up not being the case) to even take more advantage of us. We had the lunch menu in which complimentary sangria is always offered but he never offer it. Thanks God the food was good because the service (I will say it in spanish, so the waiter will understand):DEJA MUCHO QUE DESEAR.
Terrible food and service. Iwillnotgobackorreferanyone
Drinks are amazing. I did not eat anything really just had drinks. I had a banana margarita, mango margarita, and a coconut margarita. All of them taste amazing.
Cancun's food was good , but a little pricey. We are from out of town and are used to Mexican restaurants having free chips and salsa and free refills on soft drinks. This is not the case at Cancun and we felt a little nickel and dimed throughout the meal. The noise level was extremely loud.
Had dinner with old friends. Had two pitchers of red sangria and guacamole before ordering dinner. The sangria was delicious and the guac was very good. Dinner entrees were good as well. Portions were modest but tasty. We would go back again.
A group of us, seven people who use to work together, always like to get to gete once a year to celebrate our birthdays. We remembered Cancun's. We enjoyed the guacole and chips. We ordered both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks such as coconut and mango margarita and a strawberry margarita mix with no alcohol. The tradition Mexican food was good such as tacos, beef chimichanga, carne asado (marinated steak), rice and beans and tostones. Some of us were watching our weight so the restauranted accomodated with 2 people wanted grill salmon. They prepared it with a garlic sauce. The side dish that comes with they meal differ. I had the carne asado and chose the tostones. They were fried just right and the steak was huge. The other person got the side of black beans and rice. One other person got the red beans and rice and that was good too.
The décor of the restaurant was nice. We had a big round table so the seven of us could here each other talk. We did not have room for the desserts however, I had gone to Cancun's for lunch and was able to fit in a dessert. The brownie dessert was very delicious. And my lunch special of chicken chimichanga was really big and covered with melted cheese and sauce.
The service was great. It was a friendly staff that answered any questions we had. They keep refilling our water which was terrific. Lastly, we wanted a group photo to remember our evening and our waiter obliged. I would recommend Cancun's for any celebration or lunch if you are in the area.
this is my second time at Cancun - the food is delicious - the service is good and everyone is friendly - I always enjoy the atmosphere.
Really slow service, poor food quality. I visit Mexican restaurants twice a month, this place was average. We enjoyed the margaritas.
I have been to this restaurant several times before, however, never on Cinco De Mayo. First off when we arrived the waiter told us there was a 45 minute to 1 hour time limit for us to eat. This was not told to me when the restaurant called to confirm the reservation. Secondly for us to eat for 45 minute to 1 hour the service was not up to par. I had to call the waiter several times to come over to attend to us. In the end I even had to ask for the check, which when we received it had an 18% gratuity per person and we were only 2 people. Now I understand having automatic gratuity for a holiday event, however, per person is outrageous and also this was not told to me when the reservation is confirmed. I feel the restaurant should inform thier dinners of this information and give them options. We had not choice but to comply as we had already eaten.
We arrived early for our reservation, so we had a drink at the bar at Happy Hour. When it was time to eat we were not allowed to bring our Happy Hour drinks into the dining room. Seemed odd ... Our meal was served promptly and was presented well. My friend's meal was an enchilada which she said was excellent. My taco salad with chicken was good. The fresh guacamole was mostly chunks of avocado with little else to flavor it. The salsa was quite hot. Overall a good meal, but not a great one.
Wanted something different before heading to Lincoln Center This touristy restaurant was just that - a place for out of towners & kids. Not a restaurant for locals. The chips were stale the guacamole dull & the main courses pretty bland. It was a very disappointing experience.
Very noisy in front by bar. Table in back better. Good excellent
Great food! Great staff!
Food was adequate, but once the server realized only one person was ordering drinks she was much less attentive and it took forever to get our check.
