We serve Naples style Pizza, we cure our own salami and make all our pasta in house. Our beverage program is as fresh and seasonal as our menu. Campo - Reno Ratings and Reviews
Campo was fantastic! We came here on a friend's recommendation and it did not disappoint! We ordered from a good wine and cocktail list, and then asked for the chef's tasting menu. The chef came out to discuss food preferences to create our own unique dining experience. We ended up enjoying a wife range of food, including calamari, flatbread, filet mignon, gnocchi, and a delicious dessert. We both left delighted, albeit extremely full. We are already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you for a wonderful dinner and a great night out!
We have eaten here many times and have had very positive experiences including on Xmas eve in previous years. Sadly this year the food, service and overall experience did not live up to what we have come to expect from past visits. We were seated next to the pizza oven in an odd table layout and it was very drafty not to mention loud from the prep line. We did not complain as we figured they were booked solid due to the holiday however we did notice a large group seated after us did say something and were moved. The server was nice but when we ordered our beverage she assumed my underage daughter was also consuming wine and before we could provide her order the server left and brought back a wine glass for everyone at the table. When I placed my order I was not asked which side I would prefer, however when our meal arrived I received a large salad that I did not order and also a side of the same thing. It was odd as I ordered a salad to start which had been delivered to our table correctly. When the server checked in I asked and was told they were trying something new. Obviously an excuse. The manager then came over and asked how things were to which I responded they were okay. She asked what was wrong and I expressed the same thing about the salad and the manager was very quick to take it off the bill as though they knew they made a mistake. The server then asked if the manager spoke to us. The whole thing was very odd and honestly the food was just okay and as we have eaten here before it wasn’t to the caliber we have had in the past for standard menu items which we have had before. I understandwe visited on a holiday but we have done that before as well and had a much higher quality experience.
Very good food. My only complaint was of all things, the green salad which had been doused in not only vinegar but lemon juice. My tongue curled up intolerant dry crust! But they fixed it without problem and everything else was excellent. The appetizers were especially good. We had bone marrow, fried calamari, warm olives and pork "pieces" for the table to share. Even the little kids gobbled it up.
Ask for a regular table if you are short or over 50. Sitting perched on an uncomfortable stool is not great.
The service was terrific.
The waitress was upbeat, personable and did her best hosting, bar tending and waiting alone. We had two starters the meatballs and fried pork parts (only pork belly, not parts), both were tasty and pretty good. But the pizza was awful. The worst pizza I’ve ever had my entire life, no exaggeration. The crust was sour, which didn’t make the black burnt crust taste ok if the crust was delicious and crunchy. It was a margherita Pizza with soggy runny reddish sauce, clumps of melted mozzarella not even crispy when the crust was black and these little desperate dried up specks of basil. It took a long time and our 6 year old was starving, so by the time it arrived she ate a half of slice but quit. I took 3 bites and was repulsed. The waitress was kind and took it back and brought our child a bowl of very al dente noodles that were starchy and chalky. We went back to our hotel room and luckily I had peanut butter and jelly to save the day. Forgivable only because we are not home and have a ton to do, but we will not return or suggestion Campos again. We will inform our family we are visiting here and friends about our unfortunate experience. I’m not one to write many reviews or lengthy ones at that, but this was a unique experience.
The service and ambiance were really nice. I had been here a few years ago and hence came back with a group of friends since we were celebrating a common friends bachelor party.
The food was horrible. The pasta's we ordered were bland. The carbonara was raw. There was no hint of salt or seasoning of any kind. Since we had such a bad run with the pasta, we thought the Pizza might be better. Nope, same lack of seasoning. Even though the pizza was cooked really well, it had no flavor.
The pasta tasted watery . The pizza's were insipid. One of the worst dining experiences. This is not an exaggeration.
We had not been for several months after a few less than stellar experiences. This time, the meal was perfect. All of the food was back to the high-quality perfection we used to love about Campo. I’m particularly fond of their duck specials. The five spice was perfect this time. The Old Fashioned was divine. The grilled pineapple mojito was also very good.
We have been eating here for a long time, somehow tonight the kale salad was not very pleasant half of the salad was yellowish leaf it means it’s not fresh and it is ready to go bad and the egg was over cooked not pouch like it should be. Anyway we got a replacement egg and talked to Ray the manager and he ended up taking it off the check stub which we did not request. Very nice oh him. Hopefully they will get it right the next time.
