The staff was attentive, the food was very good and they had our table ready right at the reservation time.
Food was outstanding and so was the service. Great recommendations for wine
This was our first time here. The food was great! My husband had wild boar pasta and I had the pumpkin gnocchi--both delicious.
Great food and drinks. We'll be back!
Like Campo, but wish it had more selections for the non-meat eater. Tough to find one than one thing on the menu.
Campo is a wonderful place to go in Reno. It has a great location off the "strip" and right on the Truckee River. The food is great. I have been a few times now and have eaten both outside in the summer and inside in the fall/winter. My husband loves the spaghetti and meatballs, the seafood fettuccine is amazing and the pizza gets high regards. The service is good, we have always had local young people serving us; I think it is unique that they give you the bill in a book. The owner, Mark does a great job. I highly recommend making a reservation and enjoying this wonderful side to Reno, I am sure you will be impressed!
One of my favorite spots for dinner with a friend, date night or lunch. Food was delicious, the Kale salad is always delicious. Thanks for accommodating my last minute reservation!
This was the third time we have been to Campo and we have loved EVERYTHING we have tried. Every time we have made sure to order different entrees and never have we been disappointed. EAT HERE.
I have been to Campo several time but only for dinner. I have always been pleasantly surprised by their menu and always satisfied with the available choices. I have not a less than excellent experience there. However, I had never eaten at Campo for lunch. This too was like all of my previous experiences.
Bravo Campo, keep up the great work, I will be back and as with this lunch meeting will bring clients and colleagues back.
Having just moved here from Denver we were very happy to find a restaurant that focuses on local produce. Of course simply finding the food is not as important as preparing it. The food was excellent and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, walking that fine line between modern and obnoxious. We are looking forward to warm weather so we can enjoy what promises to be a great patio. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience.
The scallops were unevenly cooked and small. This is our favorite dish, and I was a bit disappointed. Chef Ramsey would point out the obviously uneven browning. Pesto was too overpowering and I don't recall having that the time before (pesto on them at all). The tripe is very good.Caramel budino is delicious. Mmmmm
This is a great restaurant. I used to live in Reno many years ago, and I wish this place had been here then. Good replacement for the original Truckee River Yacht Club restaurant!
My first choice when someone asks "where do you want to go to dinner?" The service is fantastic and the food is even better.
I am not sure how to describe the menu at Campo. We loved the place but there were only 4 items on the menu that we would even consider. So, I guess we aren't 'foodies' or gourmet lovers. We would go back if friends wanted to go but not on our own.
Food gets better each time we go. Service is great, very accommodating for families with children despite the difficulties that accompany those diners.
I LIKE THE IDEA OF BUYING FRESH, LOCAL PRODUCTS ON A DAILY BASIS. BETTER FOR YOU AND HELPS LOCAL BUSINESS. I HAVE HAD MANY DINNERS AT THIS REST. AND ALWAYS GOOD.
I was in Reno on business and came across what looked like a casual restaurant/bar downtown. Upon looking at the menu, I was pleasantly surprised to see a tasting menu that, after speaking with the waitress, I decided to order. From beginning to end, it was perfect. The meal began with the chef himself emerging to shake my hand and explain the various courses. The meal began with the chef's "mosaic," a sampling of various items from the menu. I am not normally a huge vegetable person, but I could have eaten the various greens in this course for days. Best vegetable prep I've ever had.
The mean continued with many varied, but consistently high-quality, courses. Each continued to be introduced by the chef.
Just wonderful.
The food was really quite good, but the service was disappointing. Our waitress disappeared for long stretches of time. When we had finished our entrees, we waited for almost a half hour before the dessert menu was offered. We were fine with a leisurely paced experience, but this seemed excessive. The restaurant did not appear to be overly busy to the point such slow service might be more understandable.
I took my 5 of my friends and family this last Tuesday night to Campo for the first time to celebrate my birthday. Even with a 6:30 reservation, there wasn't a lot of choice for a larger table. The place was lively and noisy for a Tuesday. The staff was friendly and pretty helpful, but our waiter didn't go way out of his way; had to ask to order apps, ask for more bread and never got more ice water even though 2 of our party were only having water. The food was delicious! My birthday drink, the Handlebar (a Manhattan) was terrific! Everything flowed nicely and I even got a nice birthday dessert but no song. Overall, it was great. I will be back and look forward to sitting on the patio.
We went to Campo with friends from out of town. It was everything I had heard about it. We enjoyed an evening with excellent food, superb service and we will be return.
This is our second time to Campo. The service was exceptional. The dessert was FABULOUS (caramel budino), the food was not good. Both times we have eaten at Campo, we have not cared at all for the appetizer/salad, or the entree. The dessert is amazing and we would definitely go there just for dessert again. We had a fabulous waitress. The food is just not great. They mix too many flavors and it ends up being unappetizing. Great atmosphere, great drinks, mediocre food. Not enough for us to come back again. Disappointed because our guests we brought had read such amazing reviews and they didn't like their food either. We ordered lamb special, seafood fettucine (came out barely warm), and the pork trio.
My husband and son dined at Campo during the summer, and they raved about how great their dinner was. A few nights ago I decided I needed to check out Campo for myself. My husband and I picked our son up from UNR for the evening and came to Campo for a 7pm meal. My first reaction was, 'WOW!' For starters, we had the Sformato--absolutely over-the-top delicious! For entrees, my husband chose the Tagliatelle (Fantastic), my son ordered the risotto (Unbelievably good!), and I had the Pumplin Gnocchi (Absolutely delightful). Campo is a bit on the expensive side, but worth every penny! Thank you for a unique dining experience I will never forget.
The food was very good. Got there at 2:15 for late lunch, advertised as 2:30 to 5:00 everyday. The online menu shows a late lunch menu that was completely different than what was available at the restaurant. There was absolutely no pasta dishes on the late lunch menu that we were given. Also happy hour is 2:30 to 5pm daily, although no mention of only a few selections that are available for the happy hour price. Overall, the food that we ordered was very good, but probably should check ahead if certain dishes advertised on line will be available.
We came to Campo for dinner and drinks before a show. We were not disappointed by anything, from the calamari appetizers, sangria, to the delicious caramel dessert.
Always wonderful food and service. We meet here every couple of months to see a movie, recharge and enjoy truly great food.
Service always great even though we are all ladies.
Everything was great. Will return.
The pumpkin gnocchi was incredibly good. I was thinking about it for an extended period of time the next day.
My friends and I found this gem of a location. As three girls from San Francisco to find this quality of a eating experience was great. We wish that we had found this on our first night not the last. The bartenders were so great that we decided to eat there instead of our table. Everything they recommended was great, the didn't steer us wrong.
Took my husband here for his birthday. As always, excellent food and very nice, enthusiastic servers. They were even able to accommodate adding on another person to our party without any problem.
Fresh, home made food. Very creative and reasonable.
Great food as always. Great staff. Nice place to have a fun dinner out with my spouse. The only downside was we had a booth (which I requested) but I didn't realize how busy the aisle next to the booths would be all throughout dinner. We'll keep coming back and will just ask for different seating next time!
We had a very enjoyable dinner on a Sunday evening to celebrate my birthday with family (4 adults). Although it's billed as Italian, the menu was actually quite varied, with emphasis on use of fresh local ingredients whenever possible. My husband and I shared the Bucatini Amatriciana pasta, and the Grilled Steak entree with chimichurri sauce. We also ordered a side salad and a cup of their "soup of the moment," and they served complimentary focaccia bread. Everything was delicious, and portions were a good size. We shared a couple of desserts that were really good (try the Caramel Budina--yum!). The service was very good and it was not too noisy, the four of us were able to talk easily. Full bar and nice wine list.
I went here for the first time with my husband for our anniversary. We loved the rustic decor, and the service was outstanding. The menu had very eclectic flavor combinations that I personally did not enjoy, but the meals were so obviously freshly prepared from local ingredients. The only thing I really disliked was the lack of a waiting area. We were there on a Tuesday night with a reservation, and the place was packed. We stood waiting awkwardly while watching people dine for at least 15 minutes.
1st time we had tasted goat, but it will not be the last. We truely enjoy thier unusual menu selections. It is exciting to step out of the ordinary faire, without leaving home.
had a great time, food was good, but service was slow.
Campo pulls off it's unique vision for preparing foods we know and love by making them taste exactly right.
We had reservations and were seated within 5minutes. The dining room was busy and felt very energetic. Our waitress explained the specials and she was very friendly. Our food was excellent. The cuisine can probably be considered rustic Italian. Everything was fresh, fresh, fresh.
The staff was helpful and efficient.
Will definitely go again.
Good food and great, friendly service. I'll be back next time I'm in town. Ciao!
Campo is one of those special places that you can't wait to go back to. When ever someone mentions dinner out my first thought is Campo. Three of our four guests had never been to the restaurant before and as were leaving they all agreed that it was one of the best meals they had ever had. Great food, great service and a great atmosphere.
Food was tasty. Gourmet cocktails. Glass of prosecco fell waiter's tray, smashed &broke all over the table. Waiter seemed to be elsewhere.
