Italian
Campo - Reno is a Rustic Italian Restaurant. We have relaxed but attentive service. We change the menu daily. We serve local and organic foods. We serve Naples style Pizza, we cure our own salami and make all our pasta in house. Our beverage program is as fresh and seasonal as our menu. We have a fun and affordable wine menu and by the glass program. Campo runs many promotions, so please check our website www.camporeno.com to see what may be going on right now. Our patio is right on the Truckee River in downtown Reno. We bake all our breads in the wood oven and the 2 open kitchens are the focal point of the restaurant. Loosely translated Campo means gathering place. we welcome you to come on down and make yourself comfortable.

Campo is my new favorite Reno restaurant. Every time I've visited the food has been better and better. You could find this restaurant in any big city charging two to three times Campo's prices. Highlights for me have been the crispy polenta appetizer, beet salad and of course the amazing dessert, their Budino. Only slight disappointment was the Spring Salad which was tasty but lacking substance, mostly just pureed avacado and very tasty soft truffled cheese. Campo has great happy hour drink specials, half off well drinks, and specials on beer/wine too. Service has been impeccable, knowledgeable and very friendly. I'd recommend this place to anyone who visits Reno, you won't be disappointed.

We went for our anniversary with our family. I loved that you could make reservations! When I did make reservations I added a note about my sons allergies. They were so helpful all night letting me know how they changed this or that so my son could eat it. I will definitely be dining here again! Not to mention all the rest of the food was exquisite!!

Campo's continually surprises with new, delicious innovative pairings of food combined with excellent support of local farmers. I love it! And of course, the kale salad is worth a trip all by itself.

The server, "Joy," was friendly, but the service was poor and full of errors. I was brought the wrong soup and our server disappeared before I could tell her. I had to flag down another server to get my soup, and even then it took quite a while. We ordered two salads, but "Joy" brought us just one to share. Again, a long wait to get the other salad. We were offered toppings for our pizza, but they were tiny little portions with no utensil provided to sprinkle them on the pizza we were sharing. The server told us "most people use their fingers" for the toppings, but that is not very appetizing when sharing a pizza. The food was good and the ambience very nice, but this is not the first time I have had service issues at Campo.

we're in town from the bay area and found this place on yelp after a day of skiing. i was surprised that the only reservation available wasn't until 8:30, but i took it anyways. i'm so glad i did! food: really really good and so nice that they source locally. we ordered the braised beef shank for 2 people. (it could've been for 3.) the chef came out to explain where the beef came from and how it was braised for 14 hours! what?! so, needless to say, it was really good, though i do wish there was some more gravy or braising liquid. service: great! super friendly, attentive. the manager and chef both stopped by to check on us. i would totally come back if i could. in fact, i'd make it a point to come to Reno just to go to Campo now.

We decided to give Campo a try after hearing about it from a friend. We came from Minden, fortunately we had a reservation because it was quite busy. we had a wonderful waiter who was happy to make suggestions. We had the Cauliflower appy - yum, sandwiches and beer. They had no problem making adjustments to the meal ( I did not want truffle with my potatoes) and everything was delicious. The excellent service was a huge plus. We had a table overlooking the street/ riverwalk which was really fun. A really great experience...we will be back for dinner!

Campo was an excellent experience in every way. The food was outstanding. The staff was perfect. The service was top notch. What you will find at Campo is substance over image. What you won't find is an ounce of attitude. If you want a great meal in Reno, prepared to perfection, served by well trained, caring and attentive staff, by all means give Campo a shot.

Roasted califlower appetizer, warm olives, and golden beet salad were all excellent. After such a nice beginning it was disappointing to find that our vegetarian entrees were so lack-luster. The spaghetti with marinara sauce was essentially inedible. Thick spaghetti pasta with a coating of red sauce made for a big, glutinous mess. The Marguarita pizza was fair, but unremarkable.

It was a Friday evening. We were a group of four regular size women. The booth was tight. The food and service were good. Interesting menu. The noise level was such that it was difficult to hear each other. I would return off hours or perhaps a week night, not on a Friday night or with a group.

Campo is a very busy restaurant with a corresponding noise level. However the food is very good and the service even better. The Kale salad with egg is my favorite food now. The wine list was very good and the prices were affordable. We plan to return here often. There is a nice movie theater across the street, so this is a great place for movie and dinner night!

My wife and I had lunch at Campo twice last week, and boy is it great! The owner, Mark Estee, greeted us personally each time. During the second lunch, he was cleaning up tables and taking dirty dishes himself! A group of friends are coming from London to attend "Burning Man" next summer. I've emailed them recommending Campo!

Me and my wife had a great dinner on Thursday 2/13/14, and shared the Valentine four course meal with the wine courses. The wine was fantastic, and paired with the food nicely. The pizza was amazing! The truffles and egg just pushed the pizza into the "heavenly zone", and was overall cooked to perfection. The rest of the courses were wonderful (The gnocchi was a little on the rich side for my taste, but still great), and the service was still good despite how busy it was. Great job! I will return, Daniel Herron

Food was solid but just OK. My spaghetti was $26. Not your average spaghetti, but was nowhere near $26 worth. The cost on this dish could not have been more than $4, so great profit margin for the owner. The bar lacked many staples in the spirits category, very shocking for a bar that is supposed to be one of the hot spots in Reno. If this restaurant did not have a prime downtown/ river location, I do not think they would last.

Campo is a TRUE gem in the summer when you can enjoy the river-view patio. I've also had some fantastic lunches here. We visited for a special occasion- the food was superb, and particularly the mushroom soup stood out. Every ingredient is seasonally appropriate, locally sourced, and fresh. It's just so noisy and crowded (not unexpectedly) on weekends- so if you're looking for intimate and romantic, you might look elsewhere.

This was my 3rd visit to Campo, and most likely the last. Portions were small and lacked flavor - I had seared scallops, which came with tiny diced potatoes and squash - both appeared to be steamed or boiled with absolutely no seasoning or flavor - my partner had chicken, which was extremely dry. I left very disappointed - and still hungry.

Consistent high quality of ingredients, food is well-prepared, innovative. Shows a firm hand in the kitchen. Sometimes service can be spotty to customers seated near the bar, especially if back dining area is full. Inconsistent service prevents Reno from competing equally with Tahoe and the Bay Area dining experience.

We had dinners that we classified as 12 on the 1 to 10 scale with 10 being fabulous. The menu is creative and very fun so it was difficult to make a selection. A liver pate with cornichons was a special and , without a doubt, the best that I have ever had. I still dream about it! I had the Fusili with grana padano and truffle marscapone and Bud had the Tagliatelle with wild boar Bolognese. There are two portion sizes available and we ordered what we thought was a half portion and it was large. We also had the roasted cauliflower which was perfectly cooked, a bit crunchy and incredibly flavorful. The service was outstanding on an evening that was very busy. This would be my go-to dinner spot if we lived in Reno!
