it was the first time i had ever been there. i think my food, potato gnocchi, was really greasy and i found it inedible and heavy. it was oily. as well, i did not enjoy my drink. but our service was fine. i think he didn't really care to hear that i didn't like it or want to do anything about how i didn't like it.
This was my second time at Campagnolo and I was, again, not disappointed. Everything was delicious, though I think the stars of the evening for our group was the Short Rib Ragu and the Cappelletti di zucca. The server was attentive and very accommodating to my dietary restrictions - the vegan gelato was the best I've ever had!
Really good menu, reasonably priced and overall a very good restaurant for any occasion
Great night out!
The menu is very well thought out and the place has great ambiance.
Our server Kathryn was just right.
Best Burrata in the city and the Cappelletti is perfection.
This place is a must try.
I was recommended by a friend to try this restaurant. Unfortunately I was very disappointed... We got there at 8:30pm and ordered a cocktail while we made our choice for dinner. We received our entree quickly. We ordered the trout and the spaghetti Amaticiana. We received the trout but the pasta never showed up. Even after we reminded the waitress she apologized but still no pasta. To my disappointment the table next to us... a group of 20 people that showed up 30 mins after us, received 10 dishes of the pasta amarticiana. I asked for the bill as we were starving and disappointed. As we paid the bill and were leaving... the pasta showed up. Lack of communication and definitely lack of coordination with the kitchen. I never right reviews... but couldn't let this one pass.
2 Appetizers/small plates(tartar and cheese burata )were very good...2 large plates/mains (12 oz steak and Ragu dish)were just ok
I'm Italian and always skeptical when it comes to Italian restaurants. Yesterday night the lesson was: good things come to the ones who wait. A pretty slow start was forgiven once the food came. I was pleased not to find the usual classics, but great dishes made in the Italian way. The flavour and food culture of my Italy, in an unexpected and delicious shape. We shared a the roasted squash fonduta followed by cappelletti di zucca and the short rib ragù with meatballs, spareribs and tripe on a bed of polenta. A glass of Wine (a pretty good Nebbiolo), coffee (good espresso). And two desserts: salted caramel budino (wow) and torta tenerina (chocolate). I was surprised not to find bread on the table (and Italian classic) but maybe it was better this way, so we didn't ruin our appetite.
The location is nice, quiet and (maybe a little too) dark. We paid around 120 (+tip) in 2. Honest price for a quality dinner. Can't wait to try more.
Never to disappoint, the short but mighty menu at Campagnolo delivers the requisite quality and flavour one has come to count on from this Toronto mainstay. I have yet to enjoy a more satisfying bite of burrata elsewhere....all creamy and warm, presented with roasted grapes on a crunchy slice of tasty bread....roasted marrow also packs a rich and homey punch despite its elegant presentation. This is one of the only places I would order spaghetti , which the waiter proclaims 'pays the rent', and must agree, it's a staple deservedly at the top of the menu. Not pretentious. Doesn't have to be. This spaghetti is the real deal; or at least what my expectation of that is- and I make a mean spaghetti myself. Service is attentive and prompt. Vibe is homey and yet just cool....in a timeless kind of way. Long after the hipster vibe of the neighbourhood changes into its newest iteration, Campagnolo will continue to serve up what it knows best. Authentic. Italian. Delicious.
Went for the Giro d'Italia prix fixe event - food was quite nice, and service was great. Downsides were that the restaurant was too loud, light was too dim, and nearly all of the food-handling employees in the open kitchen area had facial hair, which I find distasteful (and also relates to the complaint of how dim it was -- I wouldn't be able to see their beard hair in my food anyway...)
Every time I eat here I am reminded of why I keep coming back! Wonderful authentic food, amazing stmosphere, fantastic service ... can’t get better than that!
Food was excellent. Will definitely come back.
Great meal, was a little loud but that’s based on personal preference and wouldn’t dissuade another visit.
The gnocchi was amazing. Excellent food and staff
Food wasn't as good as the first time but still decent
Service was great! Food was good but I think I expected more from reading the reviews. We had the Fresh Buratta Cheese which was great! Then the spaghetti which was okay but the portion size was small and the noodles could’ve been cooked longer. Then the Short Rib Ragu with meatballs spare ribs and tripe. The portion size was sooooo small - especially for $32! Dessert was wonderful tho - salted caramel budino and the torta tenerina both excellent! Good wine selection. Good experience but not sure I’ll be back.
Definitely recommend to friends and family. Thank you
Very disappointing experience. From the beginning to end. Wanted an earlier reservation that apparently was not available, yet when we got to the restaurant, it was absolutely empty! Why 30 min earlier res wasn't available?! No clue!
Staff didn't know their drinks, kept interrupting, and brought two different plates than what was ordered. Not one but two!
Food was disappointing to say the least... cold, brought out separately when requested to be brought out all together, and overall not that special.
Would never go again and would never recommend to friends.
Consistently great time and time again. I highly recommend the burrata cheese. No one serves it better.
Appetizers were great. Spaghetti amatriciana tasted like there was old meat in it. Steak was cooked perfectly and super tender
As always an exceptional dining experience. Calling the restaurant and speaking to the owner is a delight and always confirms my choice to eat here. Stress-free, delicious food, delivered with clever banter and thoughtful service. An excellent staple in anyone's rotation.
Loved our experience here. We had the spaghetti, Bone Marrow, Burrata, Pork main and were happy with everything. All dishes were unique and cooked perfectly.
Rated this 4 stars because we had to wait half an hour for our already late reservation at 8:45. Not a big deal, but just had different expectations.
Would recommend without hesitation!
Food was fresh and delicious. Not overly complicated - just plain good. And yet unique. It is a "meat-heavy" menu, but the simple spaghetti is so delicious, no vegetarian will feel like they missed out on a good meal.
Good food, great value. Dessert options could be better and so could the service. Only two servers for the restaurant who seemed a little too busy to come around. Special occasion- birthday and nothing special was brought out. Ie dessert
This was our 2nd visit to Campagnolo and it was even better this time. Our server knew everything about the menu and pairing with wines. He was a complete professional in every sense. We did not need to ask for any additional water or anything and the restaurant was very busy when we were there. Our food was exceptional and we did not have to wait too long for it. I would recommend Campagnolo to anyone that enjoys reasonably priced fine dining, with fantastic ambiance and a genuine warm feeling.
Had high hopes, but service was a let down. We were seated at the chefs table bar and enjoyed watching dishes prepped and some friendly exchanges with the cooks. Very tasty dishes.
Our server was cut early in our meal and we were pretty much left alone at that point by the service bartender. Didn't enjoy looking at his underwear hiked up his back. Nice enough guy though, just trying to relay helpful info. As the business expands it's important to keep the original baby tight.
Still really want to try La Palma.
It was amazing. I go every year around Christmas. I'll never stop going. Don't try to stop me.
Great meal. Service was excellent. They accommodated every request.
Great experience Our waiter was friendly helpful attentive Only had a salad which was plentiful and good Steak tartare was so so
Overall a nice experience I would recommend you restaurant
Service was fantastic!
Our server was a gentleman with glasses and he was very knowledgeable and attentive but not overbearing. We never had to ask for anything and his timing was impeccable. Great recommendations on wine and food pairing. We thought the tagliatelle was too watery and simple but everything else was delicious. We had the bone marrow, beef tartare and burrata to start. Then we moved on to tagliatelle and the steak for mains. Cozy and romantic ambience. Would go again and recommend to friends.
Sat at chefs table. Amazing experience. A must try for anyone interested in fantastic Italian.
My cousin and I were visiting Toronto and this wonderful restaurant was recommended to us from another wonderful restaurant (Lena that is appended to the Bay). We arrived a little late for our reservation and we were greeted as if we were on time! Zero attitude and we were not treated with indifference - rather with interest! The atmosphere was lively but the entire space is small so you can still hear one another speak. The service was terrific and the menu options, while initially seemed quite limited in fact provided everything we desired and more! I recommend the fresh buratta salad with seared grapes (but do share it as it is quite a lot), and the trout! I cannot say enough about the trout - from the fjords of Norway. It is slightly smokey grilled flavour and very close to the look and taste of Arctic Char - magnificent! At the end of our meal I asked for a glass of Grand Marnier and they were out but did get one of their waiters to go across the street to a sister restaurant and get me a glass (which turned out to be more than an ounce and a half swirling around in a snifter)! This is a wonderful spot; go. You won't be disappointed!
Made a reservation for my partner’s birthday. We didn’t feel welcomed or special at all. Their service was very poor and the food was just okay (very small portions).
One of the servers put her arms on our chairs, leaned on us and took our orders, which was very rude. The other server poured water aggressively into my glass (almost splashed). When we got our food, there was no explanation of what kind of dishes were.
Overall, It’s very disappointing. I don’t think I will go back there again.
Really enjoyed the squash fondues. The gnocchi with braised rabbit was fantastic and the warm breads was an added bonus.
So delicious and the service was impeccable. Would definitely go again.
My girlfriend and I just started dating and this was the best place for one of our first serious dates
The service was very good; servers were attentive and polite. The cuisine was excellent. If you are looking for the Old Spaghetti Factory, you won't be getting those size of portions at Campagnolo. The appetizers and main courses were delicious and filling without being greasy or heavy. The ambiance was somewhat relaxed. Cocktails were very good and almost made me forget about the $15 cost for just one. I would go back on a special occasion.
i had the pork it was very very good good portion size
The food at Campagnolo was amazing - I want to bring a mason jar back and fill it up with their sauce!
Great atmosphere and attentive service, knowledge and friendly staff.
Seriously can't wait to return.
