My friend wanted a really good Reuben Sandwich so we headed to Camp Verde Restaurant on Sunday. She enjoyed her sandwich so much, and everything I had was delicious, as well, including the Coconut Custard Pie we shared. Don't ever take this item off the menu! To make things perfect, Maria provided excellent service. She is friendly, professional, competent and a beautiful person.... a real asset to the restaurant. In addition, shopping in the General Store is a real pleasure, especially the kitchen section. Overall, this is a exceptional place in the Hill Country, and we are grateful to the owners who have made it available.
As always great food!
We love this restaurant! Come for lunch every time we visit relatives in Bandera. Highly recommend.
Love coming to this place! Brought family members this time that have never been here. The surroundings, food, service and, of course, shopping is awesome here! Will be back again!
Lovely place in the country. A nice treat. Wish they served wine.
Everything was great....except they changed the recipe for their famous peach cobbler. Not good.
Our server was so nice and accommodating! One of the best I’ve ever had anywhere. We had out of town guests that loved it there - the store and food. Very clean and ambient
We showed up 15 minutes prior to our reservation time and checked in. We weren’t seated until 45 minutes AFTER our reservation time! The food was good and our server was friendly and attentive. However, shortly after finishing our dessert, we were told we had to leave because they wanted our table for another party. We were shocked and quickly left. We were at the table less tha 25 minutes and there were several empty tables when we were shuffled out. We were hosting out of town guests and apologized to them for taking them to such a inhospitable restaurant. There was no apology from the staff for the late seating or for bums rush to get rid of us. We will not be returning!
We would have given this 5 stars every time except this time my huge delicious salad came with not over 2 teaspoons of dressing as the tiny dressing dish wasn't half full. When I asked for more I was told I would have to pay for additional dressing. This ruined things for me...go up on the price of the salad, but either bring enough dressing or make sure the little dressing dish is filled more than it was. I will go back and it still remains one of our favorite lunch places.
On occasion we will drive the short distance from home just for something different. Always great food, extremely consistent and always a friendly staff. I would try to always make a reservation on Open Table or your wait might be 45 minutes on the weekend.
Camp Verde is not the typical hill country restaurant that uses the same prepackaged, frozen products you usually find. Someone in the kitchen is creative and understands what a good lunch can really be. We enjoy it on every visit.
I have been to Camp Verde General Store and Restaurant a number of times and am never disappointed. This time I took 3 girlfriends who had never been there and they loved it. Everyone is so friendly and the shopping and food are outstanding.
I can count on Camp Verde always having great food and great service!
I was shocked that they now charge you for a to-go cup if you want to take your soft drink with you when you leave. That never used to be, but other than that, I enjoyed it as I always do.
A regular spot for us. Decided at the last minute to go and made the Open Table reservation. As always a great experience. Note: Camp Verde is in one of the few "dry" areas of the Texas hill country. No alcohol served of any kind. Good brewed iced tea though.
Reserved a table for 4 for my wife's birthday lunch. Our relatives, who have never been to Camp Verde, were amazed and plan to come back and bring their family members. On line reservation was very easy to initiate and late modify and our table was just where we wanted it, near a window.
The ladies enjoyed the gift store and purchased gifts.
We try to come to Camp Verde often, but being in Spring Branch we do not get there as often as we would like.
Once again, an excellent luncheon experience at Camp Verde Restaurant! An old friend drove up from San Antonio for lunch and was suitably impressed. The iced tea, coffee, onion rings with chipotle sauce, chopped steak with mushroom sauce, chicken tenders, sides, and coconut cream pie were all delicious. Our waitress Patty was excellent as always. Looking forward to next time!
Always excellent. Best French dip ever. Homemade desserts.
Wonderful time with friend for her birthday. Staff is friendly. Great food. Love shopping in the General Store.
This is always a good place for lunch. Yesterday our monthly luncheon group had a very pleasant and tasty meal at Camp Verde. Several guests had not been here before and considered it quite a find. The onion rings were an excellent starter, and all of the main entrees were delicious, including the chicken tenders plate, cheeseburger, chopped steak and Ruben sandwich. Our waitress Patty was attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.
We love the whole scene at Camp Verde. The general store is a terrific and tasteful with a lovely kitchen shop. The restaurant is always a special treat and we take great pride in taking our visitors for lunch there. We are hoping they are able to expand their hours and start serving dinners also. 4 stars, reaching for 5!
Waited 45 min for food. Large table came 10 min after us and we're served before us. Also overcharged on our bill.
Food was great....service was fantastic....really enjoyed our time there.....
Everything was perfect. We had a group of 9. No one had any issues or complaints except that we ate too much!
We've dined at Camp Verde Restaurant several times and always found the food to be tasty and fresh. The dining room is relatively small, so reservations are recommended. We like the quiet, open atmosphere of the dining room. Lots of windows so you have natural light and a great view of the property. Serving sizes are hearty and food quality is excellent. Save room for dessert, even if only their locally made ice cream.
Always a great experience: great food and service. We used the wonderful sitting out back as our pup joined us for lunch.
This is always a good place to go for lunch. They are very busy, and because of this the waitresses can be a bit "over-efficient", giving the impression that they want to get you in and out as soon as possible. It can make you feel like your experience has been "rushed". Aside from this, all good.
When we want to treat ourselves to something unique and special, we always choose Camp Verde Resturaunt.
June, we celebrated my wifes birthday. This past weekend, we celebrated my birthday.
This is the resturaunt we take family and friends.
Family members were visiting from Oklahoma so we decided to bring them here as we toured some of the scenic drives of the hill country. The river, the food, the service, the store are all outstanding and easily impress visitors from anywhere. The history makes it unique and interesting. We have been here several times and several even recognized us this trip.
Camp Verde Restaurant is truly a local GEM!! Friendly and Knowledgeable
Servers! Hard to make a decision on your food because the restaurant has
quite a wide variety of plates to offer. The perfect place for a gathering of
friends, or birthday celebrations. Finish the visit as you meander on to the
beautiful store, where you can find just about the most unique of gifts!!
First visit but not our last! Great food and terrific service!
I ordered the chicken salad served on a lettuce salad. I expected a chicken salad with flavorable chunks of chicken, fresh fruit-grapes, apple, or similar, maybe celery, pickles etc and a slightly sweet dressing but instead I was served a minced mush of stuff on limp greens that was bland and unappealing.
For dessert we ordered the peach cobbler. Since we were so close to Hill country peaches, I hoped for fresh, ripe peaches- or at least good frozen ones- and a great cobbler. The peaches were green, hard, undercooked and the sauce tasted scorched. I was so disappointed in the meal!
Our waiter was very good and the staff in your restaurant and gift shop were very nice. I loved all the things available in the gift shop.
There were 5 of us dining and all the food was super delicious. The sweet potato tots were exceptional.
Food was good and generous portions
The server was great
Ambiance is very good
Everything was great! I love Camp Verde restaurant and general store!
The only thing I was disappointed in was the chicken salad. I do not like relish in my chicken salad. I do so for tuna but prefer a sweeter recipe for the chicken salad. The relish made it tangy. Great onion rings!
Excellent food, excellent service, great atmosphere. Perfect place to take out of town visitors for a taste of the Hill Country.
I had a reservation for 11:15. We got there at 10:50. People who were walking in were being seated. At 11:05, I asked if we could be seated early because no one can use a reserved table for 15 minutes. I was given an excuse so we waited. There were lots of people waiting, it was getting crowded in the hallway. I asked again around 11:10 and got a bit of an “fine” and were seated. Not sure why such a stickler for 5-10 minutes. The earlier we sit and eat, the quicker that table is turned over. My mom and I are gluten free so we ordered the club sandwich, gluten free bread, no mustard, no tomatoes, mayo on side. Our waiter didn’t write it down and joked “hope I can remember it”. I was less than amused. Just write it down. When our food arrived, our waiter told us both that “the cook took out the middle piece of bread to make it easier for us”. We were both confused. What would that even mean?! We ordered a club sandwich but without 3 pieces of bread it’s just a regular sandwich and not as filling and not what we ordered. Also I got tomatoes, my mom didn’t get bacon. We didn’t want to make a fuss so we ate as is. As I was taking some of my last bites, I told my mom “I don’t think this is gluten free bread.” It wasn’t. We both got very sick. I really wish it was written down. It’s not ok to not take that seriously if someone asks for it. We are both gluten intolerant and cannot have it. We loved coming there to eat but probably won’t go back.
Onion rings are the best! Especially with a side of Ranch dressing. The Texas Burger was very good. Meat tender and tasty and not too salty. Noise level was reduced from my last visit, which made the whole experience much more satisfying.
My daughter and I drove to Camp Verde. I absolutely fell in love of this place. It is beautiful. We ate at the restaurant and was very impressed with the customer service and food. I would highly recommend anyone to drive down to the Camp Verde an enjoy the beautiful scenery.
