For more than 150 years, Camp Verde General Store has occupied this little piece of Texas. Give yourself a moment to indulge in the rich history of this timeless gem. Come relax in the shade, enjoy an ice-cold Coca-Cola™, have a one-of-a-kind sandwich from our enticing lunch menu and try our wide variety of savory jams, jellies and sauces.
This was the second time we ate at the restaurant. It was wonderful, and the service was great!
Outstanding as on previous visits! We plan to visit again soon as the restaurant and general store together are an oasis!
Enjoyable experience for For me and my sister. I will go back again and refer Camp Verde to my friends.
I ordered the Dejavu sandwich, and that had to be the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten! Sandy our waitress was the sweetest and always checked back with us. I have been to Camp Verde restaurant many times, but this had to be the best experience I’ve had there.
Camp Verde is one of our favorite places to eat and shop! Not too far away, but away from it all!
Staff friendly as can be. Food excellent! Surroundings magnificent! Don’t miss this place!!!
Sunday lunch, cups of soup and a wonderfully large shared sandwich later, we alo shared a piece of their coconut cream pie...the best.
Camp Verde is a hidden gem. The history for the building is very interesting. We are always amazed at the beauty of the landscaping and ambiance of the restaurant and general store. The food is phenomenal and the service is amazing. You can't leave without trying their delicious desserts. The coconut cream pie is too die for and the gelato melts in your mouth.
We had a great time. Our waiter, Kevin was amazing. Our food was very good and we enjoyed walking around the grounds. The store was so cute with unusual things for gifts, perhaps for Christmas. We will definitely be back!
Over an hour's drive from San Antonio, but worth the trip. Great food in a neat setting and very inexpensive. A great place for a group.
Beautiful place to have lunch.
It's always a pleasant experience at Camp Verde. Sandy was out server this past Sunday and she could not have been better, attentive not pushy, pleasant not too chatty, just right! Shopping at the store was fabulous and I can't wait to go back without the men so we can do some serious browsing! Camp Verde is one of my favorite places and Sunday's visit was no exception!
While prices go up, quality and service go down. What was once a $4.50 sandwich that included chips and tea, is now $13.00. It is now longer served on a French banquette is now served on ciabatta bread and everything tastes highly processed. Waitstaff appeared frenzied, which may not be their fault. Disappointing.
As always, our lunch at the Camp Verde General Store and Restaurant was a delightful experience. Great food, great atmosphere, great service! We recommend it to all our friends!
Great restaurant with great service and food. The wait staff are exceptional and strive to make your dining experience fabulous.
Camp Verde was worth the drive. Great day trip!
A beautiful dining room. Servers are helpful and attentive. Food is very good and artfully plated.
The environment, the food, the service - all exemplary. It is difficult these days to find such a perfect combination in such a beautiful location. If you haven't been there, get there!
I was impressed yet again with this eatery. In previous reviews I had lauded the I food & service but always found the atmosphere lovely to the eye and harsh to the ear. This was due to the canyon-like ringing of the room amid a score of hard surfaces. The chairs scraping on the hard tiled floor rang from walls and ceiling and conversations from across the room reverberated making a pleasant experience at times quite harsh.
No more! I was pleased to find noise levels in a 75% full room down by almost half. They have installed baffles on the ceiling and walls and cushioned feet on the chairs.
This has always been a favorite place of mine since discovering it over two years ago. Now, I can finally rate this as "don't miss" Hill Country favorite.
A beautiful venue in the Texas Hill Country just hard to beat. Everything on the menu we have eaten is delicious.
Chopped Steak was excellent. Large portions.
Excellent food and service, and shopping is an extra perk. We always enjoy our drive from San Antonio and time spent at Camp Verde.
It was great. Food is always good and the wait staff is so nice...love the place
Always a great stop...
Lovely setting..Great food..inexpensive..and more than we could eat..will definitely return
Wondetful late lunch. Spinach chicken strawberry blue cheese salad was fantastic with raspberry vinaigrette dressing.
This restaurant is in my top 5 favorites
The atmosphere is classy but relaxing
Food is delicious
And prices are reasonable
We were seated right away at our reserved table, the waitress was prompt to take our orders & the kitchen prompt to deliver them. Our selections were fresh and tasty, though we preferred the old tuna salad recip from "the old days." Will return & will recommend.
Great place to eat. The food and the staff are wonderful. Have eaten here on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed.
Camp Verde is my favorite place for Lunch. Always great food, good service, etc.
The food and the service is always outstanding! Highly recommend.
Great job! As always 😀. Keep up the good work. See you all soon.
Camp Verde is my favorite place for lunch and shopping. I finally convinced my husband to take me there and he couldn't say no since it was my birthday. He loved the restaurant and actually did some shopping in the General Store and found a couple of things. It is worth the drive from San Antonio out there. Can't wait for my next visit out there!!!!!
Ambiance ,service and food quality was outstanding.
As always, the food and ambiance are very good. The wait staff was slow on a couple requests that we had to remind them twice but they were nice and friendly so we didn't mind too much.
Wait staff can be short and inflexible. When asked about substitution options, she acted as though it were an imposition and didn’t want to be bothered......like just order it the way it is offered on the menu—- seemed to be her attitude. Not the first time I have experienced this at Camp Verde
Outstanding facility. We have dined at the restaurant many times over the past ten years and were never disappointed with the quality of the food, presentation of the selected item or the attentiveness of the staff. On our last visit ( August 7, 2019) I, inadvertently, left my credit card at the table. Upon arriving home ( Boerne) a very pleasant staff member had left a message informing me that the card was in a secure place and she would mail it to us if desired. We opted to drive back and retrieve it. Her personal attention to this matter was appreciated and above and beyond the call of duty. We will return in the coming weeks. Thank you.
Awesome place to eat and shop. The food is delicious
As always, a delicious lunch at Camp Verde Restaurant followed by shopping in the General Store which is full of wonderfully unique items!
We both had Donna's meat loaf as our entrees - very delicious with just the right touch of seasoning to enhance the taste. The peach cobbler with a scoop of ice cream was fantastic as well. Just loved the chocolate camel with it - it made the dish very appealing!
