Love this place! Will say even though there was only one server she was great. But hey another server to help out, you could tell she was struggling but she did an amazing job!
I have no complaints on the food. The food was really good in fact. The biggest complaint I had was on the service. Upon checking in, the manager said I never "confirmed" my reservation. I was never sent anything to confirm either way. When I asked her how I was supposed to confirm, she couldn't provide me with anything other than "you didn't confirm." She acted really annoyed and didn't want to seat us for approximately 20-30 minutes. If she were apologetic from the start and we had to wait still, it wouldn't have been a big deal but she definitely made us feel at fault for something they didn't do their diligence on. She then only told us she could squeeze us in a 6 person table (we were 7 people). When we ordered wine, she was out of one of the options and tried to sneakily give us another bottle instead. Luckily we noticed and she tried to play dumb. We were also not really attended to and had to wave them down any time we wanted anything.
Food was very good. Setting was nice. Highly recommended.
We are Japanese. This place is perfect Japanese style BBQ place and we love to everything. So many kind of dish. Beef, Pork, Lamb, Vegetables etc... And Beef tongue is best!!
Surprisingly we were the only 2 customer during the heart of dinner time on a weekday. The food came out quickly of course since we cooked our own food and we were the only customers. We ordered the mushroom medley, scallops (6 pieces), filet mignon (4 pieces), duck breast (8 pieces) and the Kobe sampler. Keep in mind that each order of meat is about 3 oz - 3.5 oz. The quality of meat was good and flavorful, but very tiny portion. We ended our dinner with a mango sticky rice cream brulee.
Overall, this was an experience that didn't keep us full through the night and left a $60 hole in my pocket for 2 people.
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with the BBQ items we ordered. The only downside was the chicken kara age appetizer, which was not authentic. I know because I cook this and gauge Japanese restaurants with this dish. This restaurant is not a true Japanese yakiniku, but we would still return because they still do a great job with the BBQ/grill items.
Doing BBQ on the stove is really fun.
Love this place. Food is so fresh and then you get to cook it just how you like it. The dessert s'mores are my favorite!
Simply awesome. Not just another Japanese or Korean BBQ joint. More Asian blend with high quality ingredients and unique tastes at a reasonable price...even some Thai influences. Am definitely looking forward to dining there again.
Great food , small portions, terribly slow service
Great meat quality. Definitely try the Kobe kalbi! Kobe toro, Kobe rib fingers, spicy pork all excellent as are the more standard cuts (filet, ribeye, NY, etc...). Very good food & drink for a reasonable price and super high quality. Watermelon slush drink is super refreshing & tastes like fresh watermelon.
It was a great collaborative experience. And the food was outstanding.
If you love Japanese BBQ this is a great spot to visit.
Amazing meat quality and not smoky -- you do not leave smelling like BBQ. Really blown away by how good it all was and a good deal for what you get.
...excellent HH and late-night HH deals, quality cuts of meat in addition to well-prepped grillable dishes. The only bummer about this place is the very lackluster service. Most times I've eaten here the waitstaff seemed disinterested in providing service and were actually on the brink of annoyance when ordering more food/drinks. This would be a solid 4/5-star dining experience if they just paid better attention to their customers!
The food is yummy but the service is incredibly slow. If you want something, you have to flag the server down, but the food is great, the price is better, so kI will be back.
I have been to several places in Tokyo. This place really reminded me of a lot of those places. I take my kids here because they love to be able to cook their own food.
Happy hour menu prices are very reasonable.
I thought a change of pace for Valentine's Day was in order so we decided to try Camp BBQ. Yelpers gave it an above average review so we were excited to check it out. Unfortunately, everything came up short. The service was nonexistent and we were mostly ignored throughout the entire "dining" experience. When the party who was seated 15 minutes after us got their order in its entirety, that was the last straw. Done. See ya. I'm sure other people have had a fantastic time at this place, but you will not get my business ever Camp BBQ nor my recommendation. I am looking forward to telling my friends, co-workers, or anybody who will listen about my awful experience at your establishment.
Kalbi Chuck is da bom
We enjoyed to food, and it was good value for the price. Service was mediocre, and the place was freezing cold! We kept putting out hands over the barbq to stay warm.
I don't understand how this place isn't always packed. It's so fun, reasonably priced & the food is great.
This is my second time having dinner at Camp BBQ and it did not disappoint. My favorite appetizer is the "chip&dip" it's fried wontons with a delicious beef dip. The thing I love about this place is that your not waiting long to get your food because they bring the main course raw right to your table, so you can cook it on the grill that's in the middle of your table. So you'll always eat your food right of the grill...hot, no need to rush the eating process you can cook a few pieces at a time. They have a great selection of thinly cut meats and some veggies to grill. They have a nice selection of beverages, beer, wine, sake and fruit drinks. The ambiance is casual but I was on a date so I dressed up and still felt the dinner was fun and romantic as you tend to feed each other in the process, but it would also be fun with a group. It gives couples, family's or groups a more interactive experience at dinner. The service is great, they are very polite and pleasant. Price is definitely surprisingly reasonable, but my only regret is that both times I've been there the food was so good that I didn't have room to try their version of smores...oh well it just means I have to keep going back till I do. I would recommend this experience to everyone. Definitely worth trying.
this place came recommended to us by a friend who works at a high-end restaurant. We are quite surprised when we finally arrived. The service was incredibly slow, we were one of two tables in the entire restaurant over two hours. The food was pretty tasty, but the cuts of meat were the cheapest possible, and everything was very very greasy. It was okay, but I won't go back on purpose.
I thought this place would be good for a big group but the lighting was dim. However great service and atmosphere (you can put your jackets under the chair to avoid having it smell). Food is decent, but the quality of meat isn't as high as reviewers say. Would only recommended coming for happy hour as well.
I was a bit nervous about coming here because of some questionable reviews, but I couldn't be happier with my experience at Camp BBQ. The last time I had a similar dining experience I was in Japan. The appetizers provided a variety of flavor, the meats were delicious and very tender, and the vegetables were as appetizing as the rest of the meal. It looked like they had a pretty good happy hour menu as well. I can't wait to come back to Camp BBQ. What a treat!
the kobe toro is the bomb! I love this place....the ambiance is fun. it feels like you're camping with bombfire. Super cool place
If you like meat, this is the place to go. Each order comes in about eight pieces or more of meat, they are all delicious. Order rice to help fill you up.
Excellent food and and a fun and interactive time cooking on the table grill.
Perfect night for a group and great value for good size portions of quality meat, seafood and vegetables.
Servers could have been a little more attentive in filling water and taking additional orders.
Quite strange that kimchi needs to be bought in a korean-ish restaurant, although the rest of the menu are quite reasonably priced. Satisfied my korean bbq craving, but I must say the food is quite mediocre.
