Camille's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
As big fan's of the Federal Hill dining spots we had never dined at Camille's and we were wonderfully surprised from the valet service, host, and all of the wait staff and the decor. Many great Italian choices and extensive wine list provided many choices to contemplate. Our meal was fantastic and we will certainly be regulars!
As Always we had a grand meal-We also had a new to us waiter Karl a born and bred RI guy who was very good. Both food and service including drinks were spot on as usual as not everyone can make a great Martini-Shaw’s and the Rosebud top Restaurants in Chicago are equal and that’s saying something —But what do I know I’ve only been coming to Camilles for over 40 yers!!! Regards Mike Brown
Camille's is one of our favorite restaurants and we drive over an hour each year to have a meal. The entire staff is attentive & friendly, food is amazing with good sized portions, and ambience wonderful. We typically visit around 5:30, as we take our 2 tween daughters, and the staff is always wonderful with them, but it is typically not a place for kids. Only take them if they can behave and don't need to run around. Staff will bend over backwards, however, to accommodate a picky kid or menu changes. Cannot recommend this place enough.
This was my second visit to Camille's. The first was extraordinary primarily because my companion and I had a very experienced and professional waiter. This time our waiter was young and inexperienced and, although this sounds like a strange thing to say he was simply much too attentive. He also did not seem to think that we could be accommodated with some very simple changes to our menu choices. Then, the only time he was not attentive was when it came time for our check and he was nowhere to be found. We appreciated the calm atmosphere and bold and
attractive glass decorations.
The host/owner was both pleasant and polite. The atmosphere was, as expected, excellent and the food was very good. However, the service provided by the waiter, Felix, was only average at best. Once the food was delivered, he was MIA (missing in action). I would have liked some grated cheese on my pasta, but he was nowhere to be found. We did not see him again until after the busboy had cleared the table. I did not make this an issue at the restaurant, because I did not want to embarrass the business guests that I was hosting. I will admit that this was not the service level that I expected, or would normally receive, from this restaurant.
Camille's was everything we expected to be. Great service and food. A very diverse menu along with a a fantastic wine list. We were impressed with with our waiter who took his time to make not only menu suggestions but also wine to pair along with it. Cheesecake is a must have. Class act from start to finish. Will be returning .
As always the food was exceptional. The service level this night was just not up to par. It started with our wait at the bar to get a drink...clearly the bartender needed help and she did not get it. That translated into poor bar service to our table as well. The waiter was OK even though he did not bring or offer water to the table until I asked for it. Once again service just not what I expect from Canilles
What a treat! Camille’s is a multigenerational family Italian restaurant with impeccable service. From the valet service, to the host greeting us, to our thoughtful waiter - I never felt rushed at any point and they did everything they could to accommodate our requests- including non alcoholic drinks. It was comfortable and noisy enough that the ambience felt alive. I was there with a picky eater who raved about the food- Calamari (best ever), veal special and a chocolate cake that rivals mom’s.
Ever since George became the manager at Camille's, I haven't had one thing to complain about. I like to go to Camille's because you can carry on a conversation while having some of the best food in the City of Providence. The service is great with helpful, intelligent waiters taking extremely good care of you. Camille's has the feel of a European restaurant. It is sophisticated without being precious, and it's a great value as well.
It's been a while and the renovations in dining room ar gorgeous! Sometimes we feel the need to go try the newer restaurants that are always poppingup, but time and again Camille's proves its pedigree. Food and service can be counted on, and whether we're looking to spend high or low we can always find a great bottle on the big fat wine list.
hadnt been there for years. just went for my bday.
we were at the bar for a short time while waiting for the table and it was a little sterile all the way around in terms of people, decor, and music. i was drinking santa Marguerita, so was pretty happy!
husband and i both ordered an appetizer and entree. i didnt like my appetizer at all, which NEVER happens and it was probably my fault because i had no idea how it was prepared. the server asked and instantly took it away and brought me four enormous shrimp cocktail. i was very pleased. my husband got the grilled octopus and it was amazing. i had veal marsala and its was sick good. husband got some pork chop dish and loved it.
i thought the prices were very good considering the quality and we will be going back regularly now.
Food was cold, had to send back to reheat. No olive or butter served with bread until we asked. Scallops special had no flavor to it, pink vodka gnocchi had limited sauce and when we asked for more sauce they said it would take 20 minutes because it is made to order. Marsala chicken was good, lobster Mac and cheese was good, and bolognese wasn’t good. Service was decent, waiter was friendly. Bus boys were on point. Not throughly impressed for our first visit there. We’ve had much better food for a much cheaper price.
We open tables this on our way up to cape cod from nyc. We were underdressed for sure but they seated us without a second look and the staff was both friendly and knowledgeable. The food was incredible and we finished with the spumoni ice cream. We will go back for sure.
