Cameron's American Bistro Ratings and Reviews
Dawna is a wonderful waitress. The special was OUTSTANDING. The manager came by to check on our dinner and everything else about our dining that night. We selected a very good wine. And we love the bread and roasted garlic. The caesar salad featured fresh lettuce, and the dressing was perfectly applied - not too much and not too little.
Been here before and had the Walleye. It was outstanding. No Walleye on the menu in winter. Tried the duck. Good but nothing special. Service was slow and waitress was not very attentive. My wife loved the scallops and wine. We will be back in early summer for the Walleye.
Cameron's is a classy restaurant where you get wonderful food, excellent service, and the noise level is low allowing you to converse easily with your friends without having to constantly repeat yourself. The presentation of the entrees is very nice and the serving amounts is good. The great attention to detail is outstanding- typical Of all Cameron Mitchell restaurants.
When I think of a Cameron Mitchell restaurant I expect above average food and exceptional service. Both exceeded my expectations despite being there on a very busy New Years Eve. Everything I tasted (which was quite a bit) was good, but I feel the need to single out the flatbread app and the pork chop. I never order flatbread at restaurants but it was highly recommmended and I’m so glad we tried it. I did not look like much but the flavors were on point. Same situation with the pork chop. I haven’t had one in a restaurant in years and it was amazing. It was a slightly different take on what you’d normally see on a menu and I’d go back just to have that again.
I eat here all the time and it is consistently good. My only disappointment was the NYE menu was not as exciting as I would have liked.
Aside from that - it was a delightful way to spend NYE. Kudos to our server who managed to do a great job on a very busy night.
I think this restaurant is the best one of Cameron Mitchell!
Cameron's has always had some negatives, mainly noise and tables which are close together. However, the food and service are consistently good. We've dined there dozens of times.
But they must do something about the parking situation, which is becoming essentially impossible. After dropping my wife off, it took me 20 minutes to find a parking spot, and that was at the vet's office next door which had closed for the evening. I'm not sure I'm willing to keep putting up with the parking hassle. It would seem that having parking valets is the only reasonable option at this point.
A wonderful gathering at Cameron’s with a group of eight. We sat at a long table which was a bit disappointing and makes conversation more difficult. The round tops were booked but are much more conducive for visiting with friends. Waiter James was excellent. Food was delicious as always. Shrimp and Grits my fav!
This is in my top five places, in all my travels. My home base place, that all my dining out guests love when they come into town and wish experience the menu flavors again, the next time back to visit. I see the roots in this place going back to the beginning of Cameron's work and love of dining, and that's going back along time. It really offers a dining experience that has always been filled with flavor, a relaxed and comfortable venue, any day of the week.
