About Cambridge Mill
We are deeply rooted in tradition, honouring the past in the style of today. This is evident in our restoration of the mill, but also in our menu. Our chefs take familiar classic dishes and turn them into something innovative, timeless and always deliciously satisfying.

Cambridge Mill Ratings and Reviews
I went there on 11/19. 401 was under construction and made us late. They are pretty strict on the time slot. I booked for 9:30am, No matter what time I arrived, I have to leave at 11:30am. They handed the bill to me at 11:20am even though I didn't ask for it!
We have not been here in about a year. While the scenic view overlooking the river and the restaurant ambience are still wonderful, we were very disappointed in the lunch menu - it was very ordinary and the food was just ok. We had a really great experience the last time with a much more imaginative menu and superior quality food. We selected this restaurant again based on our previous experience to celebrate this special occasion but would not do it again. There are better choices in Hamilton.
Food selection is very limited for a SUNDAY BRUNCH, Prime Rib that was it, bacon & baked beans & waffles and some cheeses. If you like crab legs with nothing in them BOOM here's where you need to go.
I just left feeling a little hard done by.
Staff were very pleasant though (probably ate all the crab) :-)
Love the Cambridge Mill but it seems the variety is less than what it used to be. Also, some of the hot items were not very appetizing such as the eggs benedict-- the english muffin on the bottom was as hard as a rock. They should find another way to present this item. Would be better if there were seafood forks served with the crab pieces and thawed better. A couple pieces I had were still frozen solid.
The food was excellent as always but very disappointed that they had no Alaskan King crab as advertised on the Open Table website. I go a few times a year for brunch and have always been pleased. This time they substituted Alaskan king crab for snow crab that appeared to be shredded.
Service and views exceptional
Went to the Cambridge Mill for brunch. Very good service, food was excellent with a good variety. Not rushed. Ambience was good with scenic view of the river. Hot area needs to be spaced out to accommodate the traffic; but, a minor issue on the overall review.
There was live music in the bar, which was lovely. The view is next to none - and they were happy to accommodate our seating request to sit near the window, overlooking the river. The garlic bread, steak and sides were all lovely. We got a bottle of wine, which was reasonably-priced for a higher-end restaurant. The seafood salad was super disappointing - I would not recommend it. Overall though, a really nice night.
The service and ambiance is always great.
Unfortunately since it was so busy, the food was not cooked very well.
Seemed like the kitchen could not keep up with the demand.
Chicken dish was greasy and meat a bit pink. Burger was very sloppy and hard to eat.
Ceaser salad was lacking finesse. Ingredients thrown together unevenly.
This makes the value of the meal very overpriced.
We have had good food experiences before, but were disappointed this time.
My wife and i came there to eat and celebrate my birthday, your server Mike was brutal, first off not recommending a wine because in his words was awful. My wife decided to have the mac n cheese, it was awful, might as well call it kraft dinner with scooby doo noodles. She also had a side of pork fat, which the server said that is how bacon comes, and he laughed it off, she didn't eat because it tasted terrible. So i had the lamb, which should have been advertised as a plate of gravy and sour cream and a some lamb cabbage and sweet potatoes buried under neath. I think it was a joke, it was terrible, who puts that much sauce on a plate and thinks that is okay, maybe a drizzle but ounces of ounces of sauce, that was horrible. They service sucked, teh food was terrible, the only part what we enjoyed was the view, and we are so disappointed that we will never come back there again, so hopefully you enjoyed the $160.00 we spent because that will be the last time we go there. FYI fire your kitchen staff cause that is no chef, and fire your serving staff and hire a new one
I treated my 2 girlfriends to a Girl's Night Out and I decided to take them to the Cambridge Mill. The food was delicious and the service was good. The steak that I had was the best I have ever ordered at a restaurant. We all enjoyed our evening and will definitely be returning. We had a table by the window and we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful view.
For the past three years my two friends from Toronto and I met for the Sunday brunch. We had been doing it 2 - 3 times a year. Up until this past Sunday we have enjoyed the staff, the selection of food and being able to catch up on each others lifes. We had picked Cambridge Mill as it was a mid point for us and we had previously enjoyed the food and ambiance of the mill. This past Sunday we were pretty much asked to leave as someone was waiting for our table. We had not been offered a coffee by our server and did not have dessert. While we understand the restaurant has reservations to fill I think the servers could learn a few pointers in their deliverance of advising patrons that they need their table. We also had to ask our server to review our bills as all three bills were incorrect. A buffett meal for individuals should not be that difficult and it was obvious that we were presented with someone elses bill. Thank you.
Our experience at The Mill Sunday brunch was exceptional! Never have the 4 of us enjoyed a brunch more than we did at The Mill! Our server Briar was very attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable! The value of the brunch was very reasonable given the quality and selection of food offered! We will definitely be going back - sooner than later! Keep up the good work!
Only our second time at the Mill and enjoyed both visits. Each time we went pre theatre so it was nice to order off the theatre menu so we were finished in plenty of time. This last time was for our 20th anniversary and the complimentary champagne was a nice surprise. Thank you.
A lot of good things to say based on a first visit (from Toronto) and I would say that the historical setting and the ambience are its best attributes. In that regard, it was sort of quieter version of The Keg mansion in Toronto but with an unfortunately smaller menu. Oysters were good but expensive and something needs to be done about the overcooked, browned, unidentifiable vegetables (?) that came with steak. Great, personable, service overall.
Having dined here before we expected good service and a good evening out however , for the first time, we were disappointed with our evening out.
Both items we ordered for our main course were not available, found that hard to accept given the place seemed quiet but I guess you have to accept that with restaurants.
Took 40 mins from when we sat down before our first course arrived. Again why?
Waitress was fine, no issues there, just disappointed in the overall experience for my wife's birthday ( although they did give her a complimentary cake to take away for her birthday)
Usually we mark this at least a four start but for Sunday night I think a 2 is all .
I’ve been to the Mill several times for brunch and it never disappoints. This time around we went for 1130am whereas typically we’ve gone earlier. Although the food itself was delicious it did seem like stations were running low or out of items whereas that was never an issue before. There was still A LOT to choose from however. And I really must say we by far had the best server we have ever had at the mill... attentive would be an understatement; he anticipated our needs even before we had to ask. He was very friendly, personable, and just outstanding customer service - I cannot say enough in regards to how fantastic he truly was!
Overall, if you’ve never gone, GO! I have referred a number of friends and colleagues already and everyone always says how much they loved it and can’t wait to go back :)
Our server cared for us and answered any questions we had. The staff were lovely. Food was the right temperature, tasted delicious, with great variety. Nothing was kept out for too long, and there were never empty spots. Be mindful that its a timed brunch & alcohol in Ontario is legally served at 11 am.
When we arrived we were seated by the window overlooking the river. The view of the sunset was beautiful. I inquired about the pickle soup and was told that if I liked pickles, I would probably like it. It was delicious! Just a hint of dill and I will go back for that again!
Overall we were more than pleased with the food and service. A perfect place to celebrate my wife's special birthday.
Returning customer that was disappointed. The food was great, as usual but our service was terrible. Two servers and we had to wait almost 30 minutes for drinks to arrive on several occasions. We also had over a 15 minute wait to get cutlery. We were also given attitude when we wanted to split the bill. We were a group of 10, I think that is the norm.
