Cambridge Mill Ratings and Reviews
What a great way to spend a Monday night! The fire was so relaxing and cozy, along with the scenic view. We loved the Bavette/Wine special, and found it very tasty and would definitely recommend to friends wanting a reasonable dining experience!Service was superb and very efficient! Thanks again! We will be back!
We went for the brunch today and the snow crab was mostly shells in the bowl. I had to really search to find some that had crab meat in it. We mentioned it to our waiter Aaron, and he ended up getting us a special and generous serving of king crab especially for us for my birthday. This is what we were really looking forward to. We were very pleased with how the waiter and chef took care of this for us. So thank you!
My boyfriend and I decided to celebrate New Years a day early and chose the Cambridge Mill for this special occasion. This was possibly the best meal we’ve had in a very long time. My risotto was so creamy and delicious and my boyfriend’s striploin steak was cooked perfectly to his preference of “blue”. We will definitely consider making the trip back again.
I know it was busy they seemed to be under staffed, we had to wait awhile to be served our waitress seemed rushed and then we had to wait awhile for our drinks, the hamburger was not hot but it was still okay. I love the Mill this was not their usual service.
Went for lunch with my friend. The view was fantastic the service excellent. I have never been there for lunch before. The menu is pretty small. However the dessert we had was to die for. I have been to Sunday brunch and for supper and they are both excellent
We were celebrating my husband's birthday and he always enjoys when I take him to the Cambridge Mill. We love the view over the water, especially in winter with the cozy atmosphere overlooking the icy water. The waiter was friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, as usual and we always feel as though we are treated as special guests.
I took my family here for dinner on Boxing Day and it was so busy. We’re frequent patrons of the Mill and really love it. On this visit they must have been overwhelmed because half of us had pretty burned meals (Mac and cheese and shells ) and our stomachs were upset from the appetizers (garlic bread and sriracha cauliflower). Hopefully this was just a bad day but I recommend avoiding busy days here.
The menu has changed completely since the last time we were there. This time the menu looked ok but the food when we got it after long long wait was what I would call horrible. Dried up lamb with dried up chunk of cabbage big enough to feed a family in the middle of the plate. (2) had this dish. Supposed high end macaroni and cheese with mushrooms that didn't
have much of a cheese taste.
The waitress was nice and apologize for the delay; the decor is nice but it was very cold sitting far from the fireplace. We have written off this place and think that for the money we could have had a much better meal someplace else.
Out for a post-Christmas date night with my wife and had a wonderful meal with no complaints all around!
One thing that did strike me was the service seemed slightly off. To be clear the sever was helpful and polite however she also seemed to be trying to give us space and privacy; ultimately she overshot the mark and came off as though she was avoiding us. The restaurant wasn’t terribly busy so I don’t think that was the issue.
In all I would gladly return for another fantastic meal at this beautiful restaurant!
My husband and I were in the middle of a move and unable to host our usual family Christmas dinner. We decided to make a reservation at the Cambridge Mill restaurant on Christmas Eve for dinner with our family and I'm so glad we did. The Mill was beautifully decorated for the holidays, the fire was roaring in the fireplace, and the snow was falling softly outside. The food and service was great but the ambiance made the night!
Instead of gifts, we treat each other to a special Christmas dinner, just the two of us. The food and service was the best of the best. Friendly efficient staff. Food cooked to perfection. We will definitely visit again. Thank you to the staff at the Cambridge Mill for our very special Christmas.
Booked a reservation, still had to wait no little card with my name on table or anything like that, couldn’t make me a simple “pornstar” drink, was seated before tables that were fed a good 10-15 minutes before us, I was expecting an amazing meal but got a moderately good steak just plated very well.
Wasn’t happy as it was for an anniversary.
I ate in many restaurants in France and elsewhere around the world. I am ready to put the price if the food is great. Unfortunately, my party of six and I were disappointed at the Cambridge Mill. Our table was not ready when we arrived for dinner. The staff did not apologize and left us at the bar. I guess it is a strategy, so you can consume more beverages before you have your meal. The beef (Bavette) was not tender enough for the price you pay. Too many dishes sweet and savory flavors mixed together. Some is acceptable, too many of these on a menu is boring and not creative. I was told that if I didn't want sweet and savory, I should take a burger or some pasta. No thanks, I can do both at home. The cheesecake ?? Is this what you call creative?? It was a blob of mascarpone on the plate with grapes and shaved almonds (not worth 12$). This is not what you call "excellent cuisine". Place is beautiful, but we were six seating close to the fireplace. All of our clothes smelt like smoke after our meal. The live music was too loud and not very appropriate for the venue. Not very pleasant. Overall, we pay a lot and we were dissatisfied. We will not come back and will not recommend the restaurant.
The waitress appeared uninterested in our choices, She had no interest in making us aware of other choices for us. The bread required repeated reminders and despite of our requesting olive oil and vinegar it was never served. The food was ridiculously distasteful for all the guests.
I would never go there again .
We came on the occasion of my in laws 61st wedding anniversary.
The welcome was friendly and we were directed to our table. Our server, Brad, was most helpful and professional. We were very pleased with his service!
Unfortunately we sat beside the glass wall overlooking the river; my elderly mother in law was very cold most of the evening... Having indicated on my reservation that we were coming for this occasion, we would have enjoyed a more private spot where we could have had a nice conversation. In the contrary, we were sitting close to the live folk guitar player... not only was he loud, but the music wasn’t enjoyable at all!
We ordered a shareable cheese tray to accompany our aperitifs. The large wooden tray that came to the table was covered with 6 slices of bread, 3 SMALL pieces of cheese and one very little container of strawberry spread. Such a tray was definitely not to share, the cheese looked like it was the leftovers of some other tray... rather pitiful !
We have come numerous times to the Cambridge Mill, we are unfortunately more and more disappointed with the quality of the food!
Please bring in some needed change!
It is too bad to have such a nice restaurant but such average food service.
Excellent ambiance and service, restaurant location is great - especially if one can get a table by the windows to the river. The food is good, but nothing high end as we expected, fairly comon but well presented. Considering there is a choice of drinks included, the price for brunch is actually decent...we just found the menu to be very similar to many other places versus the excitable reviews we have seen from other people. Overall definitely worth trying and getting your own opinion.
