Nice place.... Brunch online menu did not align with what was served. Missing chicken and ran out of lamb. No roast beef gravy, just chicken gravy! Staff was very helpful and friendly. Deserts had no cakes or pies. I felt the Ancaster Old Mill would have been a better choice.
Service was slow. We really enjoy the mill but the last couple of times the service was off
very beautiful place to dine in and definitely will come back, highly recommended to everyone.
It was an wonderful experience. Food was really good, be it pork tenderloin or beef dish or salmon. Moreover the view is just wonderful
First time there, celebrating a birthday. Waited to be sat at our table (even though we had a reservation), then waited for our server to come.... Different server came over, said he would be right with us but she'd start us with drinks. Then our server came over, dropped off our drinks, and said he would be right back... so we're waiting for instructions on how this buffet works. Waited for 20 minutes for our server to come over and say "yeah, so the cold food is over here, and the hot stuff is through that door, just grab a plate". Like. It was that easy. The hostess, or the first woman server, or the server could have said that the first time he came over. I'm not sure why they made us wait to hear that. If he hadn't said he'd be back to explain it we would have just assumed that was how it works, but he said he'd be back so we thought maybe there was more too it...? Nope, it was exactly how we thought. Frustrating, when you make a reservation and you don't actually get to eat until 30 minutes later. The server also made a really weird face when my mother asked for a tea... like it was inconvenient for him to get something that wasn't a mimosa or water.
Food was good though! I'd go back just for that, and I wouldn't wait for the server to 'explain things'.
We have enjoyed brunches and dinners at the Cambridge Mill a few times. My husband and I were celebrating an anniversary. Our reservation was for 12:00. When we arrived they were obviously very busy- the foyer was packed but we were seated 10 minutes late ( not an unreasonable wait). We were seated in the large dining area with many large parties celebrating birthdays etc. It was very noisy. We got a table overlooking the parking lot and not the lovely view of the river( my fault for not requesting the quieter room with a river view. ).Our server was pleasant but was obviously very busy as we waited a couple of times with our food in front of us and no cutlery to eat with. An hour and 10 minutes into our meal ,my husband just sat down with his dessert when our cheque was brought to the table. About 4 minutes later, we were asked if we needed “the machine”. I asked for more coffee and was brought a refill and “ the machine”. We felt rushed out door and unhappy about that. The food was good but some had sat just a little too long and was lukewarm. We have had lovely meals at The Mill before and we will return but this was not a great experience.
Not worth the money..poor selection of fruit, hot food was warm at best. 20 mins to get a ceasar that was watered down by the ice cubes when i received it..they must get pre made. Dessert bar was cheap and only two ice cream flavors that were melting due to poor set up. I expected alot more for the price, Mandarin is way better and cheaper!
We were warmly received on Sunday and quickly ushered to our table. Our server was, to say the least, amazing. He anticipated our every need and yet was unobtrusive. We very much enjoyed our Brunch. Thanks to great service!
Terribly slow service for dinner last night. 7:30 reservation, we ate at 8:55pm. We were there to celebrate my daughter's birthday. It wss late for my 12 year old son and I couldn't eat my dinner when it was served at 9:20pm. I had to send my drink back and my fish main had pork sausage in it, which I don't eat. It was the fish feature of the night however the waiter didn't inform us because he didn't even know himself. Waiters should be better informed. They kept coming over to apologize for the delay, and they gave us free dessert but it just didn't make up for the whole night. Just felt like our daughter's 14 birthday dinner was ruined. I don't think we're going to be going back anytime soon. We've been there several times and by far this was the worst. Food is good and the ambience is fine, but only if you're seated next near the windows. we were seated facing the parking lot so the view wss disappointing.
We visited for my Mother's 60th Birthday. Our table had an amazing view of the water and we loved the energy and personality of our waitress. She was very helpful and knowledgeable on the food and drink items. We did need to send back a bottle of wine and I was embarrassed to do so as this has never happened before. However, all staff were very accommodating and we were not made to feel awkward about this request. They confirmed the bottle of wine had gone off and were able to assist in picking something else that turned out to be fantastic. We look forward to going again and would suggest this restaurant as a lovely place for any sort of celebration or evening out. Thanks!
The restaurant was a hit with our out of town visitors. We had a great table overlooking the water. Our server was very efficient and charming.
The only negative was the gnocchi on the menu. Two of us ordered it as our main and were disappointed in how it was prepared as well as the portion size.
I normally love the Cambridge Mill but the food on Saturday was ok at best. My mother ordered the burger and said it was just ok but the fries were extremely salty. I ordered the Mac and Cheese which is a favorite of mine. I have added bacon before but this tasted completely different than other times I have ordered it, which is quite a few . The atmosphere is always great and the service was great as well however, we happened to be seated behind a group who didn't know how to use their indoor voices which sort of ruined the ambiance, not that it is anyone's fault. However the tables were so close together that when the waitress would tend to the table behind us my chair kept getting hit which was frustrating. Not the best experience I've had. For the price we could have had a better meal elsewhere which pains me to say as the Mill is my go to for a great atmosphere and meal.
Have been to the Mill several times. The atmosphere is lovely and the service always great. We were there for lunch and very much enjoyed our meal. We were not rushed in any way and the waitress was very respectful that we were going to take our time. It was a two hour lunch.
Food is great! Staff is very nice. Hope to go back soon
Beautiful place, tasty food, friendly service, will definitely come back.
Good food, great view great service. will go back again
We had a great time - the table in the corner had an amazing view of the river, and the room was even prettier as the lights came on at dusk. Our waitress was friendly and the food was very tasty. We are looking forward to the next time we can come. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
We found the tables and chairs aged. The chairs looked dirty. Didn’t really bother us, but it was noticeable.
Meat was over cooked; we sent it back and was replaced with a delicious meal!
The food was delicious. Unfortunately our table was unaware that the buffet was located in two separate areas. We only had the cold plate options until we saw other guests eating some of the hot options. By that point, our table members were full.
It would have been nice if the staff explained this when walking into the facility or while seating us at the table.
We had to try and get someones attention to get a coffee and the staff didn't make you feel welcome. Understandably, you could see they were working hard to try and serve everyone.
The tables were so close together it was hard to get in and out. You had to ask the table behind you to constantly move or get up just so you can get out. The chairs were nice and comfortable, but for tight spots, it was not a great chair option. They were heavy to slide in and out. We had a senior at our table and had to move them to the end because they were unable to move out of their chair without assistance.
All in all, brunch was great, i would just make some minor changes to prevent these inconveniences.
I have eaten there often and love the brunch. However, the lovely desert table is now just squares and a few different tarts The lovely cheese cakes and pies are gone The crepes are lovely but the line up was long and last time the crepes were down to one thin one .I'd rather pay abit more for more quality
We have used this restaurant several times for many family functions and it has always been a success This time we had a one year old with us and this was no problem Thank you Cambridge Mill
Our server was fantastic! The new lunch menu had a great selection.
The view from the Mill is spectacular. We waited over an hour for our food and when it arrived it was barely cooked. I ordered the lamb and they served it on a cold uncooked bed of chick peas. I ordered a Manhattan and the vermouth was rancid. Undrinkable. Combine all this with a very expensive bill and it's safe to say the Mill has run out chances to deliver for me. This is not first time I've had this kind of experience there. It's a real shame because that view is super unique.
Celebrated 55th birthday with family. Had our favourite burgers. I was saying how good the bread was before the meal but we never received any :-) . Probably better that I didn’t eat any anyways lol. Burgers and fries were excellent as always.
Fot the price the food was just ok, the service was great though.
Great views and wonderful service and food. Will return
I love the view - and our waitress was oriental - very lovely. But the service way too slow. We came at 10 to 5.... and got out at 7:15 - with no dessert... we took it to go. Had to go to theatre. This is the second time this has happened in last 4 weeks.
The theatre menu is ok - but should be extended ... getting kind of bored with the same one all the time.
My sister and I enjoyed lunch on Tuesday April 2/19. We were seated at a table with a pleasant view of the water. I ordered the salmon which came beautifully presented and was delicious. My sister ordered and enjoyed the equally well presented and delicious Cobb salad. Our server was lovely. She surprised me with a tasty crème brule as she had learned it was my belated birthday lunch.
We had a server named Lisa and she was absolutely fabulous! The restaurant was a little dark but overall a good experience.
Nice place with great views of the water. I had the prime rib Sunday night special. It came with broccoli, potatoes and Yorksire pudding...which I could not eat due to dietary restrictions. I asked for some other veggies but was told I could only get more broccoli. Not cool! Was it that much of an inconvenience to give me some other veggies. I ended up paying extra for mushrooms. Nice place, good food, not the best service when it came to my request.
Every visit is great! So well taken care of by exceptional service staff. Three cheers for the kitchen for maintaining the quality at every station. Thank you!!!!
First time going to the mill for sunday brunch and both my friend and I loved it.
Anita was amazing.
We look forward to our next brunch experience.
Great views of the river and surrounding areas. A wonderful structure and very good service.
A special place for any day!
Celebrated hubby’s birthday at Sunday brunch. Lots of tasty, healthy treats for everyone to enjoy.
Our experience was wonderful. Thank you for making our experience so special. Our server was attentive and yet let us take our time.
It's not the sign over the door that matters, but rather the people inside. The nicest most efficient and friendly staff I've encountered in a very long time. Hats off to everyone that works there.
We had an enjoyable dinner. The meal was fantastic . The service was wonderful. The dress appearance of the wait staff was very professional. They were very friendly. I look forward to another visit in the very near future.
The service was incredible.
The food, wine, champagne delicious.
they remembered it was our husband's birthday and celebrated that as well as helped us get to the surprise party after.
we were very happy with the dinner and the service
We asked for a good place with a view to the river and we got it, very nice service, and not very noisy for a Saturday evening. The cost of the food, may be a little pricy, we got the menu with pork on Saturday March 30th, we found it a little hard to chew but the flavor was good, desserts were beautiful, and the coffee excellent.
