It was my first time visiting Cambridge Brewing Company. We were seated right away on a busy Friday night even though the restaurant was nerly full. The food and service were spectacular! We both enjoyed our meals. They arrived fast and hot but we did not feel rushed by the waitstaff at all. The only thing i wasnt pleased with was the fact that the tables were extremely close together and we listened to a lot of spirited political debate from the table adjacent to us.
Staff was especially accommodating in advance of our large party of (22) people - rowers & families in town for HOCR. Great food - enough variety to please everyone. Only challenge was not being able to have check separated by family, but were able to resolve.
Was here for a business meal, we were seated directly in the sun on a rare hot October day. I'd not go out of my way it was just where we landed. Its fine, if your looking for special move on.
We were a table for 12 (big) and it was a company luncheon for an employee who was leaving us and we had to return to work. Service was rather slow even though it was 12 of us. Orders were not taken until almost 35 minutes there. All and all it was a full 2.5 hour lunch. Understandable for dinner - but I felt it was too long for lunch.
Also we were at the very back and it seemed like we were forgotten about and couldn't get our waiters attention which is why orders took a long time.
We had the fried calamari appetizer - the quality was good, but the portion was quite small. For the fish and chips, the fish was OK, but again a relatively small serving, placed on top of a big pile of overcooked, soggy fries. Yuck. The waitress was not unfriendly, but was remarkably inattentive and disengaged. Maybe she had better things to do. Atmosphere is pretty dingy. The place could use a major cleaning and renovation.
Our reservation was for 9pm. We arrived at 9:10 and our was not ready. The service was glacial. Even when we were finally able to order it took forever to arrive. The pasta dishes and burgers were very nice. The black bean chili, however, was basically a can of beans from Trader Joe's. Ridiculous. The noise (music?) level was impossible. We asked if the music could be turned down a little. They said yes and did absolutely nithing. Don't bother with this place. There are much better choices in Kendall Square.
I have been to CBC on several different occasions. For this one, my friend and I had a casual dinner. I, as a smaller person, was happy with the size of the burger. However, for those looking for the 1/2 lb size it is a bit smaller than that. This place is great for dinner and brunch. I always look forward to going.
Cambridge Brewing Company is great location to consume locally brewed beers while dining on tasty lunch or dinner options.
The best place for a variety of beer if you are a brewing company fan!
The service was mediocre, the portions were small, and the place was REALLY loud. Even though beers were on tap, I could not order a smaller glass - only a pint. Too bad. I had liked this place much more in the past.
