Before or after your meal, take a stroll around the extensive grounds of Cambria Pines Lodge, where there are a number of formal gardens, walkways, and the Organic Kitchen Garden, which supplies some herbs and produce to the restaurant. Cambria Pines Lodge is featuring the Cambria Christmas Market during the upcoming Holiday season. Due to it immense popularity, there are parking limits during those Market days. If you make an online dining reservations and are not booking a room. You will get a call with the limitations. We are also requesting a credit card deposit from guests who are not booking a room, but want to dine in the restaurant.

The food is always good. But our waiter seem to be preoccupied. Although it was a moo and they were not busy by any means. The salad I wanted it wasn't offered because they didn't have candied walnuts available, so I requested Brussels sprouts, they didn't have them either, at the waiter didn't advise me until he serve my entrée.
The food was the star for me at the Cambria Pines. I had the crab cakes appetizer, served as 3 balls of crab cakes on a tasty aioli drizzle. The were tasty but more on the "cake" side than the crab side - almost like crab hush puppies. I then enjoyed their NY strip was cooked as I ordered it - medium rare.. The side of green beans was freshly prepared and al dente. The choice of central coast wines was good. The atmosphere was pretty basic and quite loud in the main dining room. The fireplace bar area looked like a fun place for the young at heart.
The food was very good, and our waiter was attentive. We were, however, very disappointed in the fact that the fireplace was not "turned on." I had made the reservations a month ago, on Open Table, requesting to be seated, by the fireplace. Your reservation stated that request, and I reminded them, both on the phone and as we were being seated. We got there an hour early, to make sure that the room wasn't filled up. They tried to seat us in a different room, after all of my reminders. I, again, had to go to the desk, and tell them that a month ago, I had made the reservations, through Open Table, requesting the room with the fireplace. They, then, moved us, but the fireplace was never turned on! The room with cold. It was a major disappointment for us. We drove 350 miles to get there, for a special experience. We went there for Thanksgiving Dinner. The Buffett was delightful and everything was so delicious. I usually don’t like buffets as the food isn’t hot enough. I was very happy that everything was warm and not dried out. The perfect ambiance for a Thanksgiving dinner.
This was a thanksgiving buffet that was a cut above any other venue like it. Although the service was not great and the ambiance was less than we would have liked, there were eleven in our group and they had to put us in the banquet room with other bigger groups. THE FOOD MADE UP FOR THAT PLUS SOME! It was terrific
We celebrated my mother's 91st birthday. She really enjoyed her penne pasta with shrimp and was very pleased and surprised with the complimentary birthday cake with ice cream. The food is excellent and the service was great. She also enjoyed the Frank Sinatra tunes being played in the background.
Food great, service terrible. When we got there there was a line out the door and the hostess was answering the phone rather than addressing in-person guests. They ran out of menus and turned away a party of four on the basis of space when there were 10+ fourtops open that did not fill up over the hour we were dining. Children kept running around the restaurant screaming which doesn’t uphold the “charming” or “romantic” vibe I read about before making reservations. The prices are astronomic for this level of service, but they get away with it because it’s a tourist town and there aren’t many other options. Do not recommend.
When we first walked in, we were seated promptly. The noise level was fine, and the decor and lighting were nice. However, we ordered a caesar salad, but the waitor forgot and he never brought it. He also only stopped by to take our orders, bring our food, and give us the bill. He never offered to bring a drink refill or ask how the food was. We ordered the salmon, a fish special, a side of brussel sprouts, and the chocolate cake dessert. Everything was great besides the brussel sprouts, which were hard and had a very unpleasant taste. Overall the food here was pretty good, however the service was poor.
We have been to this restaurant many times and have loved it. So we went for our Anniversary, This time the Prime Rib we overcooked and chewy, Service was not very good from the time your walked in the door, they make you feel like we are imposing and we probable won't go back.
I brought my wife here for her birthday while on vacation. Everything was perfect. The calamari appetizer was great. We had the surf and turf, the steak had an amazing char and the prawns were amazing, the prime rib was perfectly medium rare and extremely tender. The Bailey's ice cream pie was a perfect end to the meal. Our waitress was very attentive without being overbearing, had great conversation, and was very welcoming. Overall a fantastic experience.
It was a last minute choice because all other places suggested were not taking anymore rsvps. We decided to give this establishment a try and the result absolutely terrible food. All I can tell you lol ok elsewhere to eat the meals here are expensive and the execution is extremely bad. I order the Prime rib and that was nothing like a prime rib. It was gross hospital looking food. The calamari was imitation not real calamari cut into strips and The portobello steak was as insipid and sad looking. The server was friendly and very nice. Kitchen people need better training if they want to keep charging clients prime prices but less than mediocre execution.
Convenient when staying at the hotel. Great food and service. Be aware if you have a party of 6 or more the gratuity is included in the check. You are not notified by the hostess or server. The check is deceiving because it has different percentage amounts for the tip but on the bottom of the check it is already added. Our first night we unknowing left $75 in tip thinking we left a $40 cash tip. 😞
This restaurant should be put in a culinary museum, as a reminder of what restaurant dining used to be in America in the 1950s and 1960s, and this is not meant as a compliment. Beginning with the plastic table cloth (nice and sweaty in hot weather!) and continuing to a wine list with the sparsest offering of wines by the glass, served in the thickest wine glasses I have seen in years - all administered by a waiter with the demeanor of a boot camp instructor (who, as a crowning achievement, forgot to return our credit card). The food isn't exactly bad, but totally unremarkable, served carelessly, and remarkably overpriced. Cambria has some lovely restaurants that have successfully made it into the 21st century; this is not one of them.
A bit disappointing. We were visiting Cambria and I found the restaurant on TripAdvisor and it got good reviews. This is a large hotel, with restaurant. The food was good but the menu was uninspired and the wine list less so.
It seemed that many of the customers were staying at the hotel--we were not, and I wish that I had chosen another restaurant.
We went to celebrate an anniversary and this was my second trip to this restaurant. It was during a heat wave, but they had windows open and it was comfortable. The food was delicious. We had tried a restaurant that received a lot of hype in the area the night before, and were disappointed. The lodge did not disappoint and we had our second delicious meal there.
We were there for my wife's milestone birthday. I told them in advance of the occasion and the hostess acknowledged it when we arrived. However the waiter had to be reminded when he brought the check. Also the service was slow. We waited at least 10 minutes before our plates were cleared after we were done eating. The food was excellent. The ambience was very nice. If we are in Cambria for a special occasion, we would likely eat there again.
We were here overnight for a "date night" after 45 years married!
We were told we had a booth, but in fact it was a tiny little room with just one table and our favourite picture on the wall - Klimt "The kiss"
We chose the Calamari to share as a starter, followed by one of the "specials" a Seafood pasta.
It was in a lovely creamy sauce with lots of shrimp, scallops and clams, and red bell peppers - truly delicious - no room for dessert!
We wanted a dry white wine and would have chosen a Viognier, which is dry in Europe but we've found it to be on the sweet side in USA, so we asked the servers advice - he checked with others, and came back offering a Sauvignon Blanc called Vina Robles which was absolutely perfect with the dish

I ordered Prime Rib (rare), my wife ordered shrimp pasta dish. Prime rib arrived just over medium rare closer to medium well. There was a pic in it that said rare.
I tried to eat my dinner because I did not want to spoil my 37th anniversary...too late. If the rib had been well butchered and was a good quality, I could have dealt with it. Instead it was just a piece of bad roast beef.
To his benefit the waiter took the prime rib off of the check. For my part, I will not recommend the restaurant to anyone and will not return. This quietly ruined a nice evening.
My husband and I stay at Cambria Pines Lodge at least once a year. In the past, we always drove to a restaurant on the beach or downtown. This last time we decided to try Cambria Pines Lodge for dinner and loved it! It was so wonderful we ate there the second night as well. My husband said their prime rib he had the first night and the rack of lamb the second night was the best he has ever had. And I really enjoyed the seafood pasta special and their salmon. Great food and great place to stay!!
We have been coming to Cambria for many years and did not know of this place. A friend told us about the evening entertainment and we decided to have dinner before the guitar player went on. The food was excellent the atmosphere was wonderful and we could bring our wine into the bar where the singer was performing after dinner. Overall it was a most enjoyable evening. The folks there danced and there was great, commeraderie
