The service was attentive and thoughtful, our meal was cooked perfectly, and the special bottle of wine and dessert made for a perfect evening.
Great place to get away from Fresno!! We had Ryan as our waiter, his first night, and he was great. He will do well.
All the staff were great, friendly, looking forward to our next visit.

The food was excellent and great service. The decor was a bit kitschy, tho.
We were there for Valentine's day. The food was exceptional! The entertainment "Andy Scott" was the best!!!!
Travelzoo hotel package including dinner entree + a wine bottle for each room, a very good value and the hotel restaurant food is excellent. We order 4 different entree & they were all good or very good except the shrimp is on the salty side (filet mignon, scallop, halibut, ribeye + shrimp). The lodge garden is beautiful. Highly recommend this lodge & dining there.
What a fantastic experience! We came to the Central Coast to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, and we were delighted with our night out at Cambria Pines Lodge. All courses were delicious, the waiter did a fine job, and the complimentary birthday dessert was excellent! Be sure to ask for it if you're celebrating a birthday.
The food, while pricey, is tasty, and the servers are very nice and attentive. Ours was part of the hotel package, so it was a nice opportunity to try the food without paying full price.
WE ate outside on the heated patio. Plenty of heaters and great food.
Love, love this place! They have s band play in the bar and it’s kid friendly till 9 pm.
Beautiful hotel and surprisenly, excellent food and choices. Everything is good at this restaurant. Loved the Speing mix sslad, so good. The dressing is yummy! Also the crab cakes and shashimi was wonderful! It does get busy so make your reservation! We are here two out of three nights and every morning for breakfast.
It’s our 3rd time coming here. The ambiance is wonderful and the crowd is nice. Pedro is super cool and he’s the best server. We always enjoy our dinner here. If you like top-sirloin, you’re in the right place - at least it’s pretty good for me. Happy New Year 🎊🎆🎈 everyone!!!
New Years Eve dinner
Family and friends gathered at the lodge for a New Year's eve celebration. We spent two nights at the lodge and had all our meals at the lodge as well . From the amazing Hot breakfast buffet to their scrumptious dinner's, entertainment, phenomenal acres of Christmas lights. The amazing Gardens with all the little secret gardens,it was just an incredible experience. Not to mention the adorable Sally the hotel kitty cat Everyone in our party of 10 people would without question return!
Food was terrible, only outdone by the service. Just an overall bad dining experience.
We got there early and the host was very gracious and sat us right away. We will be back.
Great prime rib
I am mixed about our experience at the Lodge's dining room. We ate Christmas dinner and, without question, they are already renowned for their holiday ambiance. The four of us ordered prime rib dinners, the meat perfectly prepared. The green beans were simple and al dente. The mashed potatoes were average but not offensive. And speaking about offensive...there was no excuse for the poorly prepared Caesar Salad. The kitchen should consider first impressions. There is zero excuse for the shoddy effort in composing the Salad. Though the croutons were decent (using their leftover bread) the romaine was wilted and black on the edges. I am a Caesar expert. This is a pet peeve. If my family wasn't present, I'd have loudly complained. There was no effort to trip the top, limp and outside leaves. To make matters worse, the dressing wasn't balanced and the first Tate was acetic. I would expect this from a diner. However, the meat was excellent so I would return but with caution.
Food was TERRIBLE. Sizzler quality steak that tasted of tenderizer and School cafeteria mashed potatoes that were actually served in an ice cream scoop ball. And HELA that shape. Plastic table cloths and ew! Just ew.
Service and food was excellent. Felt sorry for the waiter having to work on Christmas Eve but it was good for us. We have eaten here before and always had a great experience. We are from Bakersfield but have a home in Cambria and it's nice to have a place when people come to visit us when we are here.
The food is always good. But our waiter seem to be preoccupied. Although it was a moo and they were not busy by any means. The salad I wanted it wasn't offered because they didn't have candied walnuts available, so I requested Brussels sprouts, they didn't have them either, at the waiter didn't advise me until he serve my entrée.
Had a nice dinner, while there for the Christmas Market.
The food was the star for me at the Cambria Pines. I had the crab cakes appetizer, served as 3 balls of crab cakes on a tasty aioli drizzle. The were tasty but more on the "cake" side than the crab side - almost like crab hush puppies. I then enjoyed their NY strip was cooked as I ordered it - medium rare.. The side of green beans was freshly prepared and al dente. The choice of central coast wines was good. The atmosphere was pretty basic and quite loud in the main dining room. The fireplace bar area looked like a fun place for the young at heart.
The food was very good, and our waiter was attentive. We were, however, very disappointed in the fact that the fireplace was not "turned on." I had made the reservations a month ago, on Open Table, requesting to be seated, by the fireplace. Your reservation stated that request, and I reminded them, both on the phone and as we were being seated. We got there an hour early, to make sure that the room wasn't filled up. They tried to seat us in a different room, after all of my reminders. I, again, had to go to the desk, and tell them that a month ago, I had made the reservations, through Open Table, requesting the room with the fireplace. They, then, moved us, but the fireplace was never turned on! The room with cold. It was a major disappointment for us. We drove 350 miles to get there, for a special experience. Next time, we will go elsewhere. J. Andre'
We went there for Thanksgiving Dinner. The Buffett was delightful and everything was so delicious. I usually don’t like buffets as the food isn’t hot enough. I was very happy that everything was warm and not dried out. The perfect ambiance for a Thanksgiving dinner.
This was a thanksgiving buffet that was a cut above any other venue like it. Although the service was not great and the ambiance was less than we would have liked, there were eleven in our group and they had to put us in the banquet room with other bigger groups. THE FOOD MADE UP FOR THAT PLUS SOME! It was terrific
We once again ate Thanksgiving dinner here. The food was delicious as always. Turkey with all the fixings. And seconds! And deserts. Awesime.
Great food. always a good Thanksgiving. The desserts weren’t as good as last year.
Thanksgiving buffet was excellent. Nice banquet room to accommodate groups. A very busy and popular Holiday dining alternative.
Thanksgiving meal. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food was delicious.
We've dined here several times and have always been impressed - a great menu and wine list, innovative entrees; delicious fish, seafood, and meat main courses. On this occasion we had calamari, swordfish, scallops, all served with delicious vegetables.
We celebrated my mother's 91st birthday. She really enjoyed her penne pasta with shrimp and was very pleased and surprised with the complimentary birthday cake with ice cream. The food is excellent and the service was great. She also enjoyed the Frank Sinatra tunes being played in the background.
Food great, service terrible. When we got there there was a line out the door and the hostess was answering the phone rather than addressing in-person guests. They ran out of menus and turned away a party of four on the basis of space when there were 10+ fourtops open that did not fill up over the hour we were dining. Children kept running around the restaurant screaming which doesn’t uphold the “charming” or “romantic” vibe I read about before making reservations. The prices are astronomic for this level of service, but they get away with it because it’s a tourist town and there aren’t many other options. Do not recommend.
The young hostess was nice, the server was efficient, and the Prime Rib dinner was excellent.
When we first walked in, we were seated promptly. The noise level was fine, and the decor and lighting were nice. However, we ordered a caesar salad, but the waitor forgot and he never brought it. He also only stopped by to take our orders, bring our food, and give us the bill. He never offered to bring a drink refill or ask how the food was. We ordered the salmon, a fish special, a side of brussel sprouts, and the chocolate cake dessert. Everything was great besides the brussel sprouts, which were hard and had a very unpleasant taste. Overall the food here was pretty good, however the service was poor.
Had a girls weekend with my sisters and mother. Good company and we enjoyed our time st your restaurant
Food was excellent, but we ordered a bottle of red wine that came out warm. I think they need a wine cooler...Waiter was very understanding about us sending back the wine...
Dinner is always good and always come here when vacationing in Cambria!
5th Wedding Anniverary
Great overnight stay at the Cambria Pines Lodge with dinner and breakfast included. We were pampered and satisfied and left relaxed.
We have been to this restaurant many times and have loved it. So we went for our Anniversary, This time the Prime Rib we overcooked and chewy, Service was not very good from the time your walked in the door, they make you feel like we are imposing and we probable won't go back.
