Cambria Pines Lodge
Before or after your meal, take a stroll around the extensive grounds of Cambria Pines Lodge, where there are a number of formal gardens, walkways, and the Organic Kitchen Garden, which supplies some herbs and produce to the restaurant. Following your meal, stop by the Fireside Lounge for a nightcap and enjoy the nightly entertainment.
We had the dinner package at Cambria pines Lodge. The menu was limited. I had the fish, which was overcooked and dry. My husband had a steak which he enjoyed. The ambiance in the outdoor seating was lovely, and the service was good.
The staff were great, sat outside in a Kiva with a fire: nice.
The food was very ‘meat and two veggies’ ; just like gone food. Hearty and certainly not bad.
But no finesse and no sign of celebration of fresh organic ingredients : mash and gravy, a well cooked prime ribs, mushrooms in a heavy sauce. Meh
We had a wonderful dinner and really enjoyed the atmosphere and food
There were 6 of us for dinner. The food was great. One person had the Filet and said it was a little dry but everyone else raved about dinner and desert.
We stay at the Pines Lodge every year for our Anniversary. We like to go to their restaurant for dinner as well, it has wonderful food, and the staff attentive. We had a bottle of their Moonstone Cabernet, and it was a great choice to pair with our steak and shrimp.
The food and service are excellent. We always get the 'included' dinner so I can't really address value for the money spent. Only one time, years ago, did we have dicey service.
The meal was excellent and the service top notch. I had the prime rib special and every bite was sublime. the wait staff was attentive but not hovering, the best.
The food was good and the service was great. It was a bit on the nosier side for a date night.
They were out of everything we wanted to order. While the food we ordered was good and the service was good. We were disappointed that advertised items were not available for purchase. Very disappointing as we had our hearts sit on Rack of Lamb!
The food was so good! We will definitely come back.
V day. Great!!!
It was absolutely wonderful.
Service and food was excellent. I had the prime rib and my better half had seared scollops. Dinner came with a package deal w/ suit. Great value.
We stayed here after a great day of wine tasting. Had dinner in the restaurant and really enjoyed the food and staff. Very professional, kind and accommodating. Outstanding value will for return.
We were seated right away for dinner. The server was extremely pleasant and helpful. The house wine is so smooth and the food was wonderful as usual. We're never disappointed.
This is our favorite place to stay in Cambria. We always think about going to another hotel but we end up choosing Cambria Pines Lodge. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the facilities are great.
38th wedding anniversary. Spending the night at the lodge, beautiful setting. Quaint, down to earth real people good food, large portions and great service. Everyone’s very friendly.
The place has character with vintage touches and the service was friendly and quick but the food was just ok. Definitely not worth the prices.
Great appetizers in lounge and I loved the hot full breakfast too!
Food and setting were fabulous! Perfect pairings of flavors. The service was attentive without being intrusive. Also, they were very accommodating to special requests. Truly a special evening, and we will definitely go back. One note -- the cushions in the seats of the chairs are pretty worn, so we sat in 'dips.' We weren't the only ones who had this problem as we watched many chair swaps. But we still really enjoyed ourselves, the experience and the food.
Delicious food, beautiful grounds, wonderful service. My husband and I always enjoy our stay here.
Great but sorry at 5:00 not to hear any music to go listen to after dinner.
The room had a dirty paper cup in with the clean ones and a broken hanger with sharp nails sticking out. We hung the sign up for the room to be made up at 10:30 and left. It was not done by 1:00. The sign had fallen off- perhaps you should get magnetic signs that won’t fall off.
Loved our view. Breakfast was good.
We didn’t quite have a good experience this time overall. The service was not as good as we used to get. The past years were perfect and the staff was very friendly. Not this time. The young lady at the front didn’t even greet us. The young man who served water didn’t even say hello even when we did. We thought we were invisible. Probably not coming back again.
I ordered the filet mignon and it was tasteless. The sauce was horrible too. The restaurant is very dated with plastic tablecloths.
Two of us had dinner. My husband ordered the Ciabatta Burger and it was very good. The sweet potato waffle fries that came with it were stuck together and a little soggy. I ordered the Blackened Seared Ahi, and a side of brussel sprouts. The Ahi didn't have much flavor at all, nor sauce drizzled on top. The brussel sprouts, to me, were undercooked. The flavor was alright, nothing exceptional.
We love the Cambria Pines Lodge. Everyone is friendly. We have never had a bad meal.
Christmas. We ate there daily for breakfast 12-24to 12/26
Breakfast was awful. Food needed to be replaced at the buffet and waiting for that was 10-15 minutes except for 12/26. It was very chaotic and frustrating as the buffet area is less than tiny and way too many people. I only saw one table cleaned between customers on 12/24 and two on 12/25.
Christmas Eve dinner was fantastic. Our Prime Rib was perfect. Our waiter was wonderful.
Christmas dinner was awful. Scallops partly raw with no effort to fix. Not even an apology. My soup was room temp and removed from our bill. The waitress had issues with the table next to us and got snarky with them. Apparently the waitress was sent home.
Third annual Cambria Pines Lodge Christmas Dinner was exceptional.
We had our Christmas eve dinner at the Cambria Pines Lodge. The whole premises of the hotel were beautifully decorated with Christmas lights. The restaurant itself has a charming, cozy feel. Staff were super friendly. Food was amazing. Would most definitely go back!
Very nice. We had 2 children and the service was prompt and the food good. I would return . We dined before the Christmas Market
We were seated next to the fireplace as per our request. The atmosphere was just what we had hoped for. I had the vegan burger which I would not recommend. It was cold in the center. I asked for it to be heated in the microwave, and the server complied. It helped, but I still wouldn’t recommend it. My husband had the prime rib. He said it was good.
Cozy, great prime rib special- sides were just okay. Service was great.
Food was mediocre. Everything was bland. The turkey was disgusting. Service was subpar, even though it was buffet. Had to wait for refills. We had an early reservation, so it wasn’t even busy yet to warrant the poor service and lack of refills.
We enjoy the Cambria Pines Lodge for dinner on a regular day, but we would not eat here for Thanksgiving again.
Nice place to stay especially with trees as a view. I have been there six times and twice for their yummy, yummy Thanksgiving dinner. It was delicious.
So fun checking out gardens and grounds after a yummy meal. Plenty to pick from,Turkey, ham, roast beef, shrimp, plus all the fixers.
Always wonderful to visit Cambria Pines. But we do have a few comments/suggestions after our recent stay: the shower was pitiful (yes, we all need to be aware of not wasting water in California, but it took forever to rinse off shampoo-and I have short hair!- so it ended taking longer). The chair cushions in he dining room need to be replaced ( we think about that every time we are there). Also, the young man clearing tables in the morning wiped all the crumbs onto the floor... he needs some training, perhaps?
Otherwise, we love coming here, especially if we can use a Travelzoo special deal.
The food was excellent!! Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful, everything you could ask for in a server.
We wished we had been sat in the room with the fireplace, as the ambiance would have been much nicer... The room where we were seated seemed more plain and the lighting wasn't very good.... For as wonderful as the food is, the atmosphere doesn't quite match up in there.... (However, in the morning, it's beautiful as the breakfast room! Especially since you can then see the lovely gardens outside!)
Overall that did not take away from our experience, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
We love staying there every time and we have booked a room in December, so we can see the christmas lights.
Our dinner was delicious. Every time we stay we eat at the Cambria Pines Lodge we have an outstanding meal!
