Cambria Pines Lodge
Before or after your meal, take a stroll around the extensive grounds of Cambria Pines Lodge, where there are a number of formal gardens, walkways, and the Organic Kitchen Garden, which supplies some herbs and produce to the restaurant. Following your meal, stop by the Fireside Lounge for a nightcap and enjoy the nightly entertainment.
I was not impressed! Service was ok, food was marginal, the lighting was dark. One of the reason I went was because they said the had 10 microbrews on draft. They didn’t have any! The prawns were very small. The steak was good and cooked perfectly! Overall was a very marginal experience for a place that required reservations!
We stopped at Cambria pines lodge for dinner after a visit to the Hearst Castle and drive down coast highway. I ordered the filet mignon and it was delicious, juicy and a nice portion. Everyone enjoyed this meal!
It took 20 + minutes before our waiter came. Atmosphere was good ~ beautiful gardens ~ salad was very good ~ crab cakes ok ~ service was not that good
However the lounge had good music and was very friendly.
Food was excellent and so was the service. My only recommendation it urgently needs some remodeling
This restaurant is very cute. The grounds are lovely. We enjoyed a walk through the gardens after dinner. The staff was friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our meal very much. Most of the diners are guests at the Lodge, and we were not, but we were made to feel very welcome!
Have eaten here 3 or 4 times. Basically whenever we visit from San Francisco we make a reservation and make Cambria Pines Lodge our go to restaurant. This time we where very disappointed. We had reservations, but upon our arrival, we where told that they had had a lot of walk ins, we would have to wait in the lounge for a table. When we finally got seated, we where put in back room where we basically felt like we where forgotten about. We heard another waiter, not ours tell their table that the kitchen was behind in getting out food.
I really feel that since people go to the trouble to make reservations,. they should come first. Not the walk ins
It was our anniversary weekend. Lovely gardens, very nice rooms, nice spa, good restaurant, and fun live music make this a great value.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal!
Excellent menu, from starters to dessert. Our server was a 25%+ tip-worthy worker and you gotta somehow save room for dessert.
Filet was one of the best we have had. The Demi glaze and the fried onions added to the flavor
Food was good as usual. Service terrible across the board. Will not be back.
Mother's Day Brunch at Cambria Pines Lodge is outstanding. We've gone to the lodge for last four years, and it never disappoints. The buffet includes seafood, salads, veggies, a carving station, a dessert bar, etc. I would definitely recommend it.
We have been to the restaurant several times and have always had a good experience. Friendly and helpful staff. Food has always been great. Lots of windows to look out at the beautiful flowers and landscape. We will definitely be back again.
We ate early so it was very quiet....we split a prime rib dinner which was plenty of food and delicious......it's a beautiful place...service was very good. We would recommend this place to everyone...
Food and service excellent. A little pricey...Would be nice if salad was included with entree.
Excellent food and beautifully prepared. Fast and pleasant service.
This place is a hidden gem in an area with very few restaurant choices. Excellent food and helpful staff. Nice busy ambiance.
Wonderful food in a rustic setting. Loved it!
Looked like my grandmother's house.
Came with family and friends to celebrate my bday. Had dinner both nights a the food was great. The breakfast could be better, but contains all the essentials. Rooms were lovely beds comfortable, bathrooms great. Grounds are lovely as usual. Husband and friends went out early first morning and spotted 7 deer grazing just off the driveway and two turkeys just down the road.
We stayed two nights at Cambria pines Inn with the dinner and room special. Any item entree on the menu for each of the two of us plus a bottle of House Chardonnay or Cabernet Sauvignon was included. Chicken piccata, filet mignon, and prime rib excellent. Homemade bread, vegetables & sauces very good as well. Our waitress was lovely, but just a bit overextended. Dinner Friday in the outdoor kiva was beautiful, & delicious as well. We decided to pay extra for a different red wine the second night. Highly recommend for dinner.
Lovely fresh asparagus with sea scallops in a sauce with sauteed mushrooms... everything
delicious. Very nice wine accompaniment. Exemplary service. We will be back!
The help were great but the food was just average.
This homey lodge offers a variety of tasty comfort food style dishes. Our server was authentically friendly, knowledgeable and super efficient. Great wine list with a clear emphasis on local Central Coast vineyards. The dining room is warm with lots of natural light and wood. We sat next to the gas fireplace on a brisk early evening and were cozy. Food was quite good and pretty reasonable for the area. Don't miss walking through the gorgeous, thoughtfully laid out labyrinth of gardens in the back if you're here during daylight hours.
I was a woman dining alone for dinner with an advanced reservation but I was seated in a side room with no other people in the room. There was a table for 18 set up in there but I was told they would not be coming in until later. It felt very uncomfortable being completely alone in the room. The food, however, was excellent.
Our suite with fireplace was private with an outstanding view through the trees. Chicken Picatta was the best my wife has ever had, even mine. Cambria Pines is a sure thing.
The Cambria Pines Lodge is known for its excellent dinners and atmosphere. We went again as we have many times in the past. The dinner and relaxing bar area is the primary reason for staying at the lodge. This time the appetizer of Maryland style crab cakes were anything but as they were closer to a hush puppy. What made it worse was the typically rushed and overlapping appetizer, salad and entree was worse this time. The appetizer and salad were served simultaneously and the entree showed up half way through the salad. The waitress explained that “it was done sooner than expected “. Unfortunately I immediately recalled this practice of “turning tables” is practiced by this restaurant. So I recommend, as the food is typically excellent, that you tell them to bring each course in stages so as to not get rushed. Would go again, but would not order the entree until the salad is done. Buyer beware …
Vacation. Wonderful as always.
Went for a birthday dinner, for my wife. The staff was very pleasant. We arrived much earlier than expected but they were cordial and seated us without hesitation. The server was most pleasant and the atmosphere enjoyable. The food was good. Not great. And took a long time to prepare. But no real complaints, as the setting was outstanding
My wife & I go to Cambria at least twice a year & every time we ho we make a point to eat at Cambria Pines. The good is very good & the service is excellent. Even if you fo not plan to eat at Cambria Pines you should go there to walk the beautiful grounds & garden.
We booked our reservation via Open Table. Upon arrival at the restaurant, we were immediately made to feel like we were an inconvenience to the hostess. After a minute or two we were taken to our table. The First impression was the chairs were dirty with crumbs from the previous diners, food on the floor between our seats and only a pepper, no salt on the table.
After a brief period our waitress showed up. We first ordered a bottle of red wine, only to have our waitress bring a bottle of white. Once the bottle of Pinot Noir was on the table and poured we were surprised at how warm the wine was. We asked if the bottled could be chilled a little, the solution was a bucket of ice on the table.
Expecting fresh seafood, we ordered crab cakes. We were brought 3 small portions of fried crab cakes, clearly over cooked. Again, a disappointment for what we were expecting. Our main courses arrived. But having found the fork on the table dirty, we asked for a new form with the dinner. After what felt like 5 minutes, the waitress showed up again, without the fork. (By then we had also walked to a table across the room to find a salt shaker). She did quickly return and offered a sincere apology and a offer for a free dessert, which we accepted.
All said and done, our high expectations were consistently unmet. With so many options around town, I doubt we’ll return.
The service was great. My server was very attentive, he check on me and made sure I was doing ok then once he seen that I was reading my book he stayed away but still walked pass just in case I needed to ask for anything. His wine suggestion was great paired with my dinner. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as well as go back when I'm back in town.
This is a very nice place to have a good dinner, the service is great.
Good food with great portions making it a good value for the money!
It took an hour to just get served our drinks. We wouldn't have minded waiting if we had at least had our wine to drink... Probably the worst wine list in the area. SUPER slow. Food was okay, but not worth it. We will 100% never go to this restaurant ever again.
Love staying here. Great food as well. Gardens are beautiful!
Very good food. I had the Salmon which was fresh. Good size portions so come hungry! Apple Crisp was wonderful!
We ate in their restaurant twice. The prime rib was disappointing. Very tough. We think it sat too long before serving. The next night we had the filet mignon with gorganola butter and the sea scallop entree. Both were excellent and we would recommend.
It took a long long time to get the wine we ordered. It came with the dinner would have been nice to have it a little before the dinner came.
Anniversary and birthday
