The food was excellent!! Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful, everything you could ask for in a server.
We wished we had been sat in the room with the fireplace, as the ambiance would have been much nicer... The room where we were seated seemed more plain and the lighting wasn't very good.... For as wonderful as the food is, the atmosphere doesn't quite match up in there.... (However, in the morning, it's beautiful as the breakfast room! Especially since you can then see the lovely gardens outside!)
Overall that did not take away from our experience, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
Our dinner was delicious. Every time we stay we eat at the Cambria Pines Lodge we have an outstanding meal!
We had a lovely time. They do a great job. My boyfriend had surf and turf and said it was wonderful. I had the grilled salmon and it was delicious. Great place for romantic evening, especially if you can get close to the fireplace.
Anniversary. Low key and conservative
INCREDIBLE environment. Sitting outside by the fireplace is so enchanting! The meals we ordered were FABULOUS but the field green salad was lacking. It was served with a few whole grapes, difficult to eat, and candied pecans. The server was very warm, welcoming, and attentive. I have eaten here many times and find it to be an inspiring experience. Note that they have some nice vegetarian options, which I am thankful for.
Great and very good value. Music in the lounge very enjoyable. In room coffee could be improved. Great place to stay. Highly recommend
A great place that's good for couples and families alike. The menu has a little something for everyone. Try breakfast in the morning too. You won't be disappointed.
It was okay, kinda turned off with our table, deserted dining room with bright lights. Not good for a romantic dinner for two! Food was okay, Caesar salad was unexciting, dressing was from a bottle! Entrees were ok.
We had a 7:30 reservation and there was plenty of room in the Lounge area to wait for our table. Many of the guests had finished dinner and were let us know what was their favorites. We were seated in one of the back rooms by the window with the lighted gardens to enjoy. Our waiter Martin was there ready to explain the specials and take our order. The Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly it was a very enjoyable meal. The triple chocolate cake was good to the last bite. Thanks for a wonderful time.
The dinner was excellent. We had the pork chops. The potions were more than we could handle. No room for dessert.
Food was delicious, service was awesome. My only complaint was the chairs we sat on were so low , the table came to my chest
Just a wonderful dining experience. Food, atmosphere, service was excellent. Had a reservation and did not have to wait for our table.
Everything about our dinner was just average. If we find ourselves in Cambria again, we'll skip this place.
Restaurant seems worn but still trying to be fine dining. Vinyl tablecloths? Torn menus and payment folios? I ordered scallops that had grit. We also ordered filet but it was tasteless and not tender. Food is overpriced. We encountered a rude employee at front desk folding napkins who told us to “go sit down” because we were a little early for our reservation. I sat in the lobby and watched an employee on the phone rolling his eyes and holding the phone away from his ear. The windows in the restaurant were open and bugs flew in. I understand why you run specials of a hotel stay with a dinner....cause no one would pay the full restaurant prices otherwise. Better choices in Cambria for the money🤔
Girls weekend out. Had a wonderful dinner. The filet mignon was tender and delicious! Pasta dishes were excellent as well as the scallops. Appetizer was shrimp scampi. So tasty and delicious! Cheesecake was very good too!
We all enjoyed our meals. Definitely recommend this place. We've eaten here many times and always enjoy it.
First off, the dining room is very small and though we had a reservation we had to wait for a table and the seating was not uncomfortable. The prices are expensive especially considering this is a very unremarkable restaurant. The quality of the food is very low quality. I ordered the filet minion which was a joke. I have never seen a filet minion that looked like the one I was served. It lacked taste and maybe it was made from one of those plant based products. Don't waste your time or money eating here.
Great food! We eat here at least once when we come to Cambria!
Both dinners were superb! We could choose any entree on the menu, including the specials. Our waitress was very professional!
First time staying at the Lodge for our anniversary. Overall experience was great. We liked the restaurant and lounge. The service was while in the lounge was FANTASTIC, and our waitress was the only one working the entire room and it was busy! Our dinner at the restaurant was great. Booking our reservation through Open Table is never an issue. We were seated quickly and our wait service was very good overall. We would stay here again during future visits.
Beautiful setting. Quiet. Nicely decorated. It was apparent many patrons had enjoyed returning for many years. Desperately needs updating in dining area, better lightening for night time strolls in garden and new mattresses. Safety issue in our room-hot water was hot enough to scald.
We absolutely love the town of Cambria and Cambria Pines Lodge and make it our personal get-away at least a couple of times each year! It’s like a little paradise at the lodge with the beautiful gardens and walking paths and we always look forward to and hopeful of seeing the deer roaming the grounds! We always enjoy the beautiful bluff walk at Fiscalini Ranch Preserve and the beach walk on Moonstone!
We had the most tender filet mignon we've ever had. The waiter was very attentive even though it was a busy night. I would recommend!!!!
Beautiful setting, excellent service, peaceful surroundings, wonderful experience!
Dined here as part of a stay and dine package. Dinner was surprisingly good despite the bad reviews I read. We ordered the brussel sprouts which was good. had rib eye steak and the daily special - swordfish. For dessert, we shard a creme brulee which was smooth and quite good. Service was wonderful. Our server was very plesant and conversant when needed.
Note: As part of the stay package, breakfast was also included - nothing to talk about there. i would skip it.
Arrived on time got seated and waited 20 minutes for the waitress to take the order but when the order came he was wrong had to wait another half an hour to remake it .Unfortunately it was tasteless . just paid and left.what a joke...Just move on to other places in town
The food was outstanding the chef did an amazing job with cooking our steaks. The service was great and all of the extras were great. We would recommend it to anyone that wants to go out for a great dinner.
outstanding service-quality of food gets a 10-ambience wonderful-rooms spacious & verycomfortable
The food for dinner was good, but pricey. $100 for 2 adults and a child. (non-alcoholic drinks). We are in early 40's. Audience caters to an older audience. We can see our parents enjoying the dinner and location. However, not the price. After meeting folks who have stayed at the lodge, we did learn if you stay at the Cambria Pines Lodge, they will give you discounts to eat at the restaurant. Recommend, you go there for lunch instead. (Cheaper, and if the weather is nice you can enjoy sitting outside.)
We had a party of 8, everyone’s meal was amazing, all steaks where cooked to our request, and where correct! Desserts where amazing! Will definitely come to this restaurant again!
We had a wonderful meal of filet mignon. We will be back!
Our server was very accommodating, however the rest of the staff was not super attentive. The location certainly had a charming ambiance but could use an update. For example, myself and a few others around us had to switch out our chairs from being so worn out. The food was tasty and came quickly. We also received a dessert to celebrate our anniversary.
We are in Cambria for a girls trip wine tasting — the food and wine were excellent. We did a lot of sharing with the appetizers — wonderful goat’s cheese, tuna tartare, salads and we even split an entree. Everything was wonderful, and our servers attentive. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed for a special evening.
Lovely grounds. Food adequate, but nothing special. $8 for a side Caesar salad from bagged lettuce, bottled dressing, and boxed crotons is unforgivable, however. Interiors and fixtures are worn, and could use a refresh.
They hold weddings and reception in the adjacent gardens, which is a great venue for that, but the restaurant guests are not protected from hearing incredibly bad DJ patter and questionable music choices. I’d stay away from here on Saturdays for sure.
Service was very slow, starting with the greeting and drink service, and went downhill from there.
Back for dinner a second night in a row, I ordered the MahiMahi, but needed to change out the vegetables, as those that came with were not on my idet. Instead of letting me know what else they had, the waiter simply brought another vegetable without communicating what was coming. Not professional, but the food was good and the historic building looks out over a beautiful garden, so it was still relaxing and enjoable. We will give it another try.
Our stay at Cambria Pines Lodge was exceptional. The room was spacious and modern, the dining room was cozy with lovely ambience. The food presentation was perfect and the food itself was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Family meal with four different dishes. Very fast service. Food was adequate, but very expensive for the quality of the food. Prime rib was tough and mashed potatoes seemed microwaved. Green beans were great. Shrimp scampi was good, but just good. Other dishes were similarly adequate. Mac and cheese was very tasty and the only thing I’d get again, but it was a side.
My wife and I were celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary during our stay, and everyone from the staff made our stay wonderful. The staff was attentive and pleasant. We will be back. Thank you!
Almost left on entering as it had an unappealing cooking smell. Room very dated hotel restaurant. Menu very dull. Plastic table cloths. Service reasonable, food barely acceptable. Had heard such positive things took a chance.... Should have left.
Food was just ok. Seemed sort of rushed. Entrees came out at same time as appetizer. Salmon was undercooked and the whole plate was barely warm. Waitress was nice, but wasn't familiar with bar selections and didn't seem to want to find out.
We had a lovely celebratory dinner as a family. Everyone enjoyed their meals.
